Poppycock!! Leave My Stuff Alone

Submitted by Hope on Thu, 10/02/2003 - 8:12am.

I read this article this morning on my homepage and all I could think was..."I could care less, just leave my stuff alone".

Don't get me wrong, I think my DH is just the greatest guy. He's kind, considerate, logical, responsible, cute, clever and witty. And he does BAD THINGS! Which he squirms out of with hilarious reasoning.

DH is a tool man. He has them all and thinks he needs more. He has a 2 1/2 car garage that we don't park cars in and another single garage out back. He needs the space for his collection of toys(tools). I still find tool collections in the bathroom, the kitchen, the office desk, anywhere. He says they're handy. His garage is a disorganized mess! DH is OK with me borrowing a tool if I need it, but I'm expected to put it back. No problem as long as I can find what I need in that mess. Why can't he just organize it? He can't even find his own stuff. Chances are good that I'm more apt to know where something is than he is. In truth, he would prefer it if I did'nt touch a thing.

Because I got tired of hunting for what I needed, I decided to get my own tools, which I've kept in my craft/sewingroom(which I'm re-organizing). I have my own Dremel and attachments, my own wire cutters and needle nose pliers etc. I have a storage bin with neatly filled little compartments full of various sized nails, screws etc. I have my own soldering gun, grinder, good glass cutter, nippers, solder and wire. I even have my own hammer and tape measure.

Well....let's just say I *HAD* it. On several occasions I've caught DH in my room rummaging around. Now that I'm in that room moving my crafting area I see my Dremel has disappeared entirely(he has his own!). I'm missing my wire cutters and the tape measure has been long gone. I think my hammer is upstairs somewhere. I found my nail bin open. DH says it was a certain size nail he needed and it was quicker than trying to find it in his mismash of nails. He's not found my soldering gun yet, I hid it. He was asking about it one day even though he has one of his own. Mine is nicer than his....I would'nt tell him where mine is. What can really get me steamed??? Finding my sewing scissors, or pinking shears in the garage!!!! That's like begging for poisen. He knows better than to touch my paintbrushes, and he isn't really interested in my glue.

I just want him to leave my stuff alone. I don't care how the male brain works. I want him to organize his own stuff so he can find what he needs.

Stomp, stomp, whine, wahhh, stomp! That's my blog for today. This aft I will tootle off and golf with the darling...much more fun than organizing a garage Smiling .
