CBS to air segment on The "DARK" side of Homeschooling

I seen this advertised earlier in the weekend and got this e-mail from one of my homeschool groups this morning. Thought some of you may want to see it. It airs tonight.
Seems like maybe they should at least follow this story up with "The Dark Side Of Public Scooling" Oh, but wouldn't that be far to fair and balanced.
Here's the e-mail...
You may want to consider writing CBS after watching
> the story.

The show airs tonight on Eye on America, CBS Evening News.
Im going to Watch...
I will tune into this for sure...I just cant belive it!These stories these horror stories have NOTHING to do with the kids being homeschooled this has to do with child abuse plain and simple.I bet anything theres millions of stories of children being public schooled who are abused/neglected.When we talk of suicde let us just remeber the tragic Columbine High School murder suicides.I can speak for NC I have lived here all my life and the child protective services if MESSED UP here.I have seen crack addicts become foster parents.Im not kidding.I personally have been harrassed by child protective services here while down the street from me there was serious abuse going on and nothing was ever done.My second daughter had asthma shes outgrown and child protective services wanted to follow me to hospial for her treatment even though I proved she was being treated regularly and that I was not neglecting her.It ended with her pediatrican yelling obscenties at the social worker and telling her in the hospital if we werent left alone shed get a restraining order.Meanwhile you look around everywhere and see abusive parents go untouched.I know a person who left his 6yo child in a truck at a gas station for 6 hours alone to go do crack. His child was found sent to the uncles house and the father never came under scrutiny even though he was reported. The child remains with the father to this day and the fathers drug problem.I can think of tons more cases I have seen like this and tons of cases where good parents were harrased even to the point of giving thier children up for adoption due to the harrasment of social services who here in NC seem to be on a baby hunt beccause they snare would be adoptive parents into being foster parents by offering them easy fast adoption of babies if they do!If they are going to do a story on the abuse neglect in NC they need to not limit it to homeschoolers!
Script from the show, for those who didn't get to see it.
It's a 2 part segment, the 2nd part comes on tonight. Layralyn, I agree, it has nothing to do with homeschooling. Sounds like these were just bad parents, period! When Darlie Routier from Dallas murdered two of her three sons a few years ago the press never said anything about her kids being sent off to public school? Some people think she killed her kids for insurance money. How would that play into there schooling?
Ok, I have way more I wanna say, but I'm running late. I'll check back in later.

I Am Floored by This
I really thought these ridiculous sorts of attacks were over, at least as far as the media are concerned. I don't know about y'all, but I'm writing about this. I hope they get inundated with letters of complaint!

Another site about this topic that is humorous. Warning: this site is a parody, some people may not find humor about this topic amusing. I thought the site was entertaining.

That site was great, well, you know what I mean! Thanks for sharing it. The statistics can be frightening, but it was great to see the "other side" of the statistics.
As far as the links, try adding this to the beginning of your URL:
< aspacehref > but take out the spaces and where it says "space" insert an actual space; and this to the end of the link: < / a > again, without the spaces.

did anyone end up watching this?
I did not get a chance to see this program. Ok, that's because I totally never watch TV and don't even know which channel is CBS on my system and was too lazy to look up the channel and time. But I'm wondering if anyone did see it and if it was as bad as it sounded. I personally think that if a situation is this bad, that's an issue for CPS, nothing to do with education.
