2 more loads laundry

Busy Day

No flying today-yet.
The boys and I went to answer phones for the local public radio station's pledge drive. Local is a relative term in this neck of the woods though, it required a 60 mile drive each way. The kids were great, and they had a really good time too. It got hairy a couple of times with 15 people talking and 15 phones ringing simultaniously, but they held their own. While we were in the big city we had sushi for lunch-a huge treat. Actually, DS11 had sashimi. He is the adventerous one in the family, for sure! He loves it though, and it is always fun to do something so out-of-the-ordinary with the kids.

We had a family friend with us, she's also 13, and they asked if we could please go to the mall, so off we went. Our mall is actually a pedestrian-only, brick-paved street, and we had a great time wandering around.

On the way home we had to stop and hit Costco-does that count as flying? I got many supplies for a OAMC session. With the way the boys are eating these days, it's a wonder we can put gas in the van...

It was really such a wonderful, fun, silly day that I am sitting here counting my blessings. It has been a tough few months emotionally with DS13 and it was so refreshing to see him so incredibly mature and capeable at the station, and then so silly and fun to be with later, it was a nice break from the tension of late.

I'm sorry, I'm so OT...

OK

TADA
Laundry-5 loads, but more seemed to have grown overnight!
Dishes
Great Friday candlelight dinner
Costco shopping
Prepped religious education class for tomorrow

SLUG
Curtains-again. I just can't seem to get motivated Sad
Counters

Congratulations Mike and Dana! Now you will be outnumbered too! Smiling

Have a wonderful Saturday evening everyone!

Hi guys!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for starting the new thread Kitty - and yes there are a few new posts on the old one, so everyone make sure to read that. We aren't posting as much as we were with the old format though, that's for sure. I guess we all have trouble with change!

Made a great Italian Vegetable Soup for dinner with rolls and a salad. It was a soup kind of day here, rainy and grey and cold! Tomorrow I'm doing the Pumpkin Patch field trip with DS6, should be wild - there are 3 grades going from our town! DS guilted me into it - I think he really wants me there, so I'm happy to go! I also want to get to Curves in the am with my Mom, who is visiting. I also got the kitchen floor mopped and my paid work done - laundry done and put away - wanted to do a Zone - may still get to it, we'll see.

Have a great night ladies - see you tomorrow!

Hi Kitty and Andrea :) Jus

Hi Kitty and Andrea Smiling

Just a quick post to say hi to all my flyfriends. It's been a mad house around here lately. Hope to have things under control by end of the week. I started a "SHE" project that has gotten way out of control! Between my "project" normal housework, homeschooling, and sports I'm BEAT. Looking forward to getting the house back to normal and posting daily again real soon.

See you guys later.

Sunday Evening Sad

Oh, I'm not depressed, I just hate Sunday evenings. I dread starting another week. Although, since becoming a mommy AND working in the office only 12 hours a week is much better & I don't hate it quite so much! But, I love the weekend because DH and I both get to spend time with DD.

I have actually been doing pretty well FLY-ing lately. I try to get most everything, especially laundry, done during the week so that on the weekend I don't have so much housework. We had a great weekend just hanging out together.

DD was so cute tonight. She was so sleepy, so I laid down on the sofa and she laid down beside me. She was rubbing her eye and literally fell sound asleep mid-rub! I had to move her fist out of her eye!

Andrea, how about that soup recipe? I put soup in the crockpot early this a.m. and we had it for lunch! Delish! We're not really having cold enough weather for soup, but who cares? I can eat soup year-round anyway!

Well, better go. Need to move DD to her bed since she's good asleep now. Talk to you all later!

Vonnie

Susannah's picture

Hello!

I wish my kids would eat soup. I love it, especially the long-simmering kind. I could just picture DD falling asleep like that, Vonnie! So cute!

Well, the mastitis is better, but still dealing with plugged ducts. Sad I feel lots better, anyway. Baby's power napping and kids are outside playing at the moment. They always choose right before lunch to go out & get really dirty! I might take their PBJ's (and some handy wipes) out to them today. At least it's not TV!

Just call me SLUG girl. I'm *so* not flying. I've managed to keep dishes and laundry washed, but not always cleared & put away. I did manage to mop the kitchen floor yesterday, which hadn't been done since before Emma was born! The piles of boxes in my living room are extrememly de-motivating. DH is not making any progress on the garage at all. Right now, he's sound asleep (yes, at noon!). He's been struggling with insomnia all week, and as there's no landscaping to do right now he sleeps half the day away. I feel badly for him on one hand; on the other, I am SOOOO anxious to get that done and out of the way! Arrrrgh! I really hope he does something with it today.

I hear baby stirring, and I'm also in the midst of waiting for butter to soften so I can do a double batch of cookie dough for freezer. I like my chocolate chippers nice & fresh from the oven! Expecting a meal tonight, so I'm looking forward to not having to cook. Last night, I did a quick stir-fry.

There she blows!

Love,

Susannah

Kay W's picture

It's been a long time

Whew! It's been a while since I've posted on this thread. I think the lack of progress in flying was keeping me from posting. I've been sort of SHE-like lately. I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel. It's been FOREVER (or at least it seems that way) since I've had appliances. I got my oven back today (it's a new double oven - I'm excited) and I should get my cooktop back tomorrow. I'll have to go get groceries, however. The big ole mess the workers are making and the fact that all of my kitchen contents are spread out over my dining room has stifled me!

Also, some may remember, I'm in my 9th month of pregnancy, and until just recently I've been "taking it easy" as per my dr's orders. That's all a SLUG like me has to hear!

The last few days, however, I have been nesting. I've made fairly ambitious PODA's and have managed to get a few of them done. I'm moving slowly, but I'm getting some cleaning and organizing done. I've got a LONG way to go, though.

Hope things are going well with you all... I'll ck in with you later!

Hi Flyfriends!!

I hope you guys remember me Smiling Its been quite a while but I have been lurking once in awhile.

I pretty much have been keeping up with flying, or really just flappping my wings, but I sure did miss you guys.

Susannah, big Congratulations on Emma, my niece is Emily and I always call her Emma, I love that name. And take care of yourself and that infection. Smiling

Vonnie, sounds like you are doing great with your DD. I think I remeber she had a seizure, glad she is doing better.

Andrea, I love soup kind of days, it is actually pretty warm here today in Ny, but I made some chicken noodle soup anyways. YUMMY!!

OK here's some actual Flying.. TADA..
~Swiped and cleaned upstairs and downstairs bathroom
~made chicken soup
~made bed
~2 loads laundry washed, dried and put away. WOOOHOO
~vacuumed den
~raked leaves in front for 20 minutes

OK,felt like more than it was Smiling :)
Off to go look at a house with mys sil, she is looking in our area.

HAve a great flying day.

Hey!
Kay, you haven't popped yet? Get with it! LOL!

Jamie Lea, WHAT on earth are you doing? I'm dying to know!

Vonnie, had a dream about you and your dd last night. But there was Danna's Ethiopian boy in there too. hmmmm....

I've been getting more done now that I'm staying off the computer more. My bedroom looks nice as of last night (and decent this morning). Got to stay in the zones. House is looking better though. We got a new puppy yesterday. Sweet little Border Collie mix. Looks like our old dog, Roscoe. Think this one will be Cooter (yes, we have a Dukes of Hazard thing going on with dog names. Our last one was Jesse, and we already had a Bo). Chance just adores him!

Anyway, I'm off to do some more stuff! tata! LOL!

Susannah's picture

Hi, Glad Our Flyfriends are Delurking!

Kay, I'm surprised to hear from your still-pregnant self too! C'mon out, baby! I know you're probably getting sick of hearing such comments, hmm? Glad you are taking it easy between nesting projects.

Jackie, thanks! Sounds like you're good friends with SIL, are you excited about her moving nearer? Great job on the flying, BTW.

I'm with Jenny, I wish Jamielea would reveal the secret doings in her house.

And border collies are sooooo neat! That's a good breed. I'm not a dog person, but there are certain dogs I would consider once my babies are older, and that would be one. Enjoy your puppy!

Vonnie, I love reading about your adjustments to mommyhood. You really ARE doing a great job! Smiling

Three of mine are playing outside, one is taking a looong nap in her swing, and one is vegging out on the tv. How's about THAT for homeschooling? I had another hs mom come over yesterday with a meal & all her kids and she said, "You know you're supposed to take six weeks off, right?" Ha ha! And I was trying to gear up again this week! We'll get it back together again in no time. I think I'll skip the work books for a while longer and start up with the reading aloud first. That's more enjoyable anyway, easy to do while nursing, & still very beneficial & educational. We still need to finish the Laura Ingalls Wilder series and I have other books on the shelf we could read. Not to mention books you can find online! Smiling

I have a friend offering to come and clean for me and oh, how I want to take her up on it. But all these books are in the way! Sad The hs mom-friend yesterday said she might have a bookshelf to give us, so that would be a start. DH is really truly going to work on the garage today when he gets back from an errand. I'm almost ready to believe...almost! Guess I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh yes, this is the forum about flying. Well, I folded laundry today and have two loads going in the machines. I just emptied the DW. I've been clearing off the hotspot about every other day. I swept and spot-mopped the kitchen floor last night. I typed in a couple of recipes and threw away the paper scraps. That's something!

Well, better get going. I think Emma's due for another feeding soon.

Love,

Susannah

dryer

well I bought my dryer today...not too happy at having to shell out the money but thats life
got a Whirlpool at Best Buy,,,by the time I had to pay extra for gas and a new gas hook up [law] and delivery and 7.25 tax and haul away it was $519.00
its a 6.5 cubic feet so at least its as big as my old one. didn't want a big washer and small dryer ,,didn't make sense
this one better last ,,tired of buying appliances
thay had cheaper ones yes but not the right size
I would have loved a new set of those real fancy ones but that would have been $2,000 so obviously they are out of the question

not much flying today,,just spending too much money
worked 9-1
poda
work on painting more

a big Hello to all ,,,good to see more posting

of course we remember you Jackie Smiling
Susannah don't over do Smiling

are you out there Honey ???

Yup!

Of course I'm here, Kitty! Reading along as always. You all inspire me, flapping away so energetically. I read along for inspiration!

Jamie Lea - I'm dying to know what that secret project is!

Jenny - we're getting a puppy next year. Border collies are so sweet! We might go for something smaller though, as our yard is tiny.

Hi to everyone Smiling

I'm off now to be a slug, as always

Flapping along :)

Hi Flyfriends Smiling

Gonna be quick because I am going to run to the mall with my sis and baby niece. Flapping a little, but not too much.

Hi Kitty, I know what you mean on appliances, we spent $5000 on a new gas boiler when ours died 2 years ago, it killed me at the time, but I gouess thats what goes on when you have a house. Would have rather spent it on vacation on the beach, but thats life I guess.

Jamielea, please please let us in on the secret project.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well.

Heres the flapping:
~brought car for oil change
~picked out red paint for front door, it is primed and waiting to dry so we can paint it. I cant wait!! I have had this on SLUG list forever
~off to mall to start Christmas shopping
~menus made, have to food shop

HAve a great day, Love JAckie Smiling

I'm a flybaby wannabe, and have been lurking on this thread for almost 3 years! I have decided to jump in and go for it, as I hope the accountability will help me stay on top of things. So here goes:

TADA
3 loads of laundry washed, dried, and folded
1 load of dishes washed
27 fling boogie

PODA
5 more loads of laundry
1 load of dishes
clean counters

Snow in Oct.--Unreal

The weather's still barefoot-warm in the afternoons here in GA. I'm dying for the pecans to fall!

Can't post long, Emma's asking for her milk.

On my PODA:

*Wash all the laundry (it got wet last night during DDs' bath)
*Unload DW and reload
*Vacuum LR
*In-box items
*Feed baby!

We have a meal coming tonight, so that will be easy.

Love y'all!

SNOW!

Oh my, Jo, where are you from? Oh, I see New England. Well, send some cooler weather this way, we are still in the upper 80s/low 90's. It's never been this warm this late in October. Well, I guess it isn't so bad here with the warm weather. The hay is drying, DH is baling. Anyway, what grade do you teach? And glad you finally delurked! Welcome! Sounds like we have a few things in common!

Honey, I guess I don't think of Border Collie as a big dog. Big dogs are Great Pyranees or St. Bernards. I can get you plenty of chihuahuas, LOL!!

Jackie, good to see you again. Will you be calling yourself Elizabeth Arden after you paint your door? (Sorry, couldn't resist. Remember that line in Steele Magnolias?)

Yesterday was errand day. Got groceries, exchanged some pants (took 3 pairs back to Walmart, then went to Joe's Boot Shop and got some Wrangler Riatas, which is Wranglers line of dress pants), ordered another receiver for our satelite (for the bedroom, I'm tired of DH's crappy shows he loves to watch. Will buy a new TV too, thanks to my birthday money!), and groceries. Talked to DD6s teacher this morning about her report card. She is doing very well in everything, EXCEPT PE! What on earth was that about!? Well, her teacher told me SHE had no idea there was a problem in PE til she got the grades from coach. She's just not paying attention and goofing off a bit too much. So need to work on that.

Today, I'm gonna vacuum (it's a twice a week job here), laundry, bathrooms (ok, I'll admit it, I just never did my weekly blessing this week!), filing (a friday job, but the paper monster is taking over again, mostly the kids school papers they bring home). And get this done so I can either scrapbook a little or work on another quilt top.

Have a great day!

kittycat45's picture

same likes

Jenny you and I could get along quite well,,,it seems we have many of the same likes,,scrapping and quilting. Of course I have many crafts and projects going at the same time.
This makes flying hard some days Smiling I too have two satelite recievers because there is no way Iam watching sports all day and night !!!!!
actually I have one dish and it can recieve two signals [dual] and then two recievers in the house. Some of my neighbors have three dishes,,,now thats tooo much Laughing out loud

well my TADA

DD13 school 7am
took nap

grocery shop three stores

now I am pooooooped

PODA
NOT MUCH Laughing out loud

catcha ya later

good delurking witchiepoo Smiling ..wheres Michele and many others??

SLUG Already

I already have a SLUG list! But at least it was for a good cause...My MIL called and needed help putting her wood in for the winter, so we went and did that. She made a big roast turkey for dinner, and then I had to go to choir rehearsal, so not as much done as I had hoped. Oh well, today is a new start.

TADA
all dishes done
floor play time with dd3(we made "tents" and played memory)
made cookies for the kids
stacked 5 cords of wood for MIL with ds11 & ds13(BIG brownie points!)

SLUG
finish curtains
laundry
counters

PODA
5 loads laundry washed, dried, folded, put away
counters cleaned
try to get those stinkin curtains done (it's been 7 months!)
make a nice candlelight dinner (our Friday family tradition)

I live in very most northern New England, 9 miles from the Canadian border. We have had real, accumulating snow in September before, and 3 years ago we had 11 inches on Halloween! I actually love snow, it's so peaceful and beautiful. I teach language arts and social studies to 24 students in grades 3-8. I share them with a science & math specialist. All 3 of my kids go with me, and the school is very small, so it is much closer to homeschooling than traditional school. We have yesterday and today off because of the state teacher convention, but I can't go because I'm not in the union. I'd much rather be here baking cookies anyway!Eye-wink
Have a great day everyone!
Jo

ffmike's picture

Hi folks

Yup, back at last...I haven't even been lurking...and I don't know whether I'll be keeping up or not. We'll see. Life has been too darned busy, and on top of everything else I've got a head cold at the moment.

But I had to drop in and let you FlyCritters know: we're expecting baby #3 in June. Right at the moment that mostly means that Dana is dealing with nausea and I'm switching back to low-salt cooking, but no doubt there will be other impacts soon enough Smiling

Other news: my migraines are pretty well under control, after dropping all sources of caffeine plus hard cheeses from my diet, and starting on a daily regimen of verapamil (calcium channel blocker). This whole thing still sucks, but it is nice not to spend every day dealing with chronic headaches.

Not doing much flying lately; not even caught up with dishes at the moment. But maybe things will ease up enough to get the house back in order soon....hope springs eternal.

jennye's picture

Wow, Mike, that's great news!

Wow, Mike, that's great news! Please tell Dana congrats for me! Maybe a June baby won't be as bad as the past two during the hottest parts of summer. Smiling Ok, so a couple months back, you said "any more children will require an addition onto the house". What's the plan? LOL!! Glad to see you pop your head in, I was getting worried a little bit.

Anyone else expecting? Has anyone popped yet? Kay, Jenn?

Jo, we have a small school too, though not quite as small as yours (which amazes me!). I love it though. I've gotten to know quite a few of the students just from picking up my kids. I just got my subbing certificate and will be doing that soon if they need me and if DH can watch my youngest 1 or 2 (depends on what day it is).

This weekend is the Peanut Festival. Its an arts and crafts show at the college every year, and is getting bigger each year! I get a bit of Christmas shopping done. Tomorrow night is the Junior Carnival at school. My SIL will be here too, so my weekend is booked!

Yesterday I moved the gun cabinet to our bedroom (had a bug to move something), hung up pictures (SLUG), vacuumed, sorted some papers. Today more of the same. I'm having a Longaberger open house next weekend, so need to make and send invitations for that. And I have other stuff too. Less time online does work!

Ya'll take care!

Tigerlilly's picture

Big Congratulations to Mike!!!

I was so excited to log on and read your great news! And Congratulations to Dana too Smiling

Big Welcome to Jo. I have really just started posting here again, but these girls and Mike are a great bunch to hang out with.

Jenny, Dont' start calling me Elizabeth Arden just yet. The door is more like fuscia at the moment, waiting for DH to put second coat on Sat, has been too cold. I think I am scaring the neighbors though. Smiling

Susannah, give that cutie pie Emma a kiss on the head for me.

OK, on to the flapping:
~ WHB
~ 1 load laundry washed dried, folded and put away
~ 1 hour Firm exercise tape to release yesterdays big work stress
~ work today 3pm to 9m YUCK
Have a great day everyone! Smiling Love Jackie

Susannah's picture

Congrats to Mike and Dana!

I thought #3 might be on the horizon, with all the little hints you'd been giving out. Smiling That's wonderful! I hope Dana feels better soon. I'm sure she's already tried every remedy under the sun, but has she tried those wristbands yet? I had a friend who swore by them.

Not flying and house is a total disaster. Smells like dirty little rear-ends in here. I'm serious! Sad DH is going to have to peel pack one corner of our bedroom carpet and replace the padding underneath. And my bathroom. Phew! Swishing & swiping just ain't doing it. These DS3 accidents are taking over. I HATE potty training! It lasts forever.

I have some proofing work for this weekend, so that will take precedence over flying.

Jenn had her baby boy, but I haven't checked the Due Oct/Nov thread today yet to see if Kelly has resurfaced. Smiling

Not sure if there is a meal coming tonight, but I do have a freezer entree I can pull out of the hat if not. Last night, we had some yummy pot roast. The kids didn't eat much, but DH & I scarfed it down. Had leftovers for lunch today.

Well, the garage is very very slowly being worked on. Progress is progress, however slow. DH is acid-etching the concrete today and I hope will paint it soon. Then the walls need painting & he has to do some rewiring & put up the garage door opener. We're moving the freezer out of the main garage & into the storage area. Once that's done, I can start planning OAMC. Of course, not until I feel safe taking the baby grocery shopping. She's only 2 weeks old. I really need to get to the grocery store soon for necessities, though.

At any rate, we have to get our stuff out of the driveway before it rains this weekend.

I did manage to wash all the laundry yesterday, but today need to fold & put away. I also ran a DW load today. Did not clean up kitchen last night, but it didn't take long this morning.

I have come to several conclusions:

*Applying makeup really does make me feel better, and people notice my appearance when I wear it
*Shoes are absolutely necessary for flying. I do not fly without them. How is it something tied to my feet can have a direct effect on my brain?
*I am much better at keeping up with things than I was three years ago. FlyLady is ever so slowly sinking in. Not there yet, but the advent of this baby and the last were not nearly as chaotic as the first three. Not saying we're not messy here, but at least psychologically. I had trouble keeping up with the feedings and diaper changes with my 2nd child. This time, I seem to be unconsciously making routines as I go.

Better go actually do something while Emma sleeps off her milk.

Love,

Susannah

Andrea's picture

Hi everyone!

Morning guys!

And congrats to Mike and Dana on the pregnancy! Just read it in your diary Mike and flew over here to see if the others knew - fantastic news!

Susannah, at least he's started on the garage right? Very true about the shoes, I agree.

Sounds like a busy weekend Jenny, have fun!

Well, DH and I are going on a little getaway tonite - a night away without kids. I think we'll also go out for a movie and dinner - we won the hotel night and breakfast in a raffle so it should be pretty low budget. My parents are in town, so they'll be watching the kiddos.

Before that I have chores to do though. I'm getting the urge to fling some stuff and clear off some spaces in my home - I hate it when things get cluttered!

I'm off - catch ya later!
Andrea

Honey's picture

Congratulations!

Congratulations Mike and Dana Smiling

ffmike's picture

Thanks, All

We appreciate the congratulations, of course. And needless to say we're looking forward to our family growing a bit more, though Dana's mind keeps rushing forward to future challenges. Me, I can't find the time to worry about stuff a dozen years down the road.

Jenny, here's the house plan: first step is to take the current den area and turn it into a new master bedroom for Dana and myself. That will involve putting up a wall and a door, doing some electrical work, and of course walls and floors. We're planning that for around the start of the year, before Dana gets too big to work on it but after this dratted morning sickness passes.

Next step is to take our current bedroom and redecorate it for Kayla's room. We've probably got a year or so before she requires her own room.

Then, we get a dumpster dropped in here, clean out all the crap in the current two-car garage that we have no intention of ever using for a garage, and put in interior walls and ceilings. I think we can get two bedrooms and a pantry out of that, so it will hold us for at least a few more years! Whether we do all that work ourselves or get a contractor in will be dictated by the eternal pulls of time and money, of course.

I'll pass on the wristband suggestion, Susannah.

One tada from yesterday: got the last of the harvest in (tomatoes, green peppers, eggplant) and made another big pot of tomato sauce. We had our hard freeze, so this was a necessity even though I felt lousy.

I'm getting over the latest cold, but still not at 100%. (DS3, who brought it home, is of course completely recovered and hard to keep up with). DD1 appears to be coming down with it now, and Dana might have it too, though she feels so crappy anyhow that it's hard to tell. So, another day of low expectations for me. Mostly I'm going to be at the computer, I think. I need to start getting part of the garden ready to plant garlic if I feel up to it. And perhaps I can catch up on dishes. But I'll be flying pretty low, all in all.

jennye's picture

Sounds like a good remodeling

Sounds like a good remodeling plan. Kinda how we are. This house makes it hard to add on to, but if we did, probably turn the one car garage into something (my truck won't fit in there anyway) and/or put on a new master bed. But then again, I would love to build a whole new house someday.

BTW, I tried the wristbands, didn't work for me. But I had almost no morning sickness at all with #3 (a little queesy, never sick), and the first two were minimal. I was lucky, I guess. Laughing out loud The kids, however, love to play with the wristbands. LOL!

I managed to get much of a quilt done yesterday (just a lap sized one). Need more fabric for borders, so it's put on a back burner. I'm trying to use up what fabric I have before I buy more. Then I want to get back into some scrapbooking. Did get my bathrooms all clean and some zone stuff done, too.

Busy day today, so I better get ready. I'm still in PJs! Ya'll have a great day!

Becky's picture

congratulations Mike and Dana!

Congratulations on the baby and the non-headaches.

We got our computer back now so I can post again.

I have a sort of overloaded PODA and don't actually think I'll get it all done, but:

-breakfast
-laundry
-put out ready-made Halloween decorations and make some more
-grad school application essays
-record some music for DH, if he gets around to printing it out for me to learn--the playwright for the musical wants to know what some of the female characters' songs sound like with an actual female singing them
-more unpacking, if you can believe it
-clean the catboxes (this may happen tomorrow instead)
-clean the bathrooms and kitchen
-go to the storage locker across the street and get some of it cleared out
-try to get to the gym!

We'll see how much actually gets done.

Hi Flyfolks!

Jo, isn't Saturday Family Fun Day? So you were flying after all! It sounds like a delightful time was had by all! I always enjoy getting out with my kids too. I think when I'm at home I get overwhelmed by the constant work and I'm no fun. But going out frees me to have a little fun and actually enjoy the kids.

Kay, I'm so pleased you have a "date"! Now you can prepare mentally and housework-wise. Praying for an easy delivery for you! Smiling

I straightened up and vacuumed today (around books & boxes, of course) because I was expecting a mid-morning visit from a friend, but she never showed. Puzzled??: It made me feel much better to bring a little order. Folded some laundry, washed some training pants, etc. Proofed about 30 minutes.

The garage floor is still not painted. Sad And it's supposed to rain tonight or tomorrow. I'm very bummed about that.

However, another friend brought a meal tonight, so that was nice. I might actually get the kids in bed before ten tonight. Smiling I almost want to try to go to church tomorrow, I've been so housebound, but Emma's still so little. At some point, though, I have to get to the grocery store (if there's still money in our account for groceries) and Emma will have to come with me. Our friend brought me one item I was completely out of, so that helped.

Kids have eaten their ice cream cones and are running around like hamsters, so I'd better get them upstairs/faces washed, etc. while baby is still asleep.

Love,

Susannah

A few tadas

Still fighting a head cold, but I managed to get a few things done yesterday:

- Burned trash
- 3 loads of diapers and 1 of towels through the laundry
- Boiled down & froze the turkey stock
- Canned 6 quarts of tomatoes
- Caught up on dishes (5 sinks full, yuck)
- Actually made dinner
- Wrote a book chapter

At least the place looks a LITTLE less like a bomb hit it.

Today's PODA: work on the other book, move old hay bales in the barn so the new hay delivery has a place to go next week, prep garden beds for garlic, do some mulching.

Jenny, our main constraint for remodeling is that there are big trees on three sides of the house that I'd rather not lose. So if we need to keep expanding, we'll need to stretch out through the garage anyhow. If we go nuts and buy a car that needs shelter from the elements, we can always build another garage. And yes, I'd love to build a whole new house; I even have a spot picked out on the front slope of our property, overlooking the Palouse River. My guess is that it would take half a million or so to punch a road out there and put a house up, though. Not very likely.

Dana got through pregancy #1 with almost no morning sickness. #2 was pretty bad. So far #3 is resembling #2.

Jo, I'm not too worried about being outnumbered yet. I figure age and sneakiness will beat youth and innocence for a while yet.

Time to get bundled up and feed the chickens...

Big PODA

Susannah, don't be so hard on yourself for goodness sakes! You don't need to go anywhere until you are darned good and ready. I didn't even feel human for at least a month after giving birth. I know it's hard to manage with a newborn and older kids too, so do only what you have to...Maybe DH could do groceries? Although the last time I sent my DH for groceries we had a $200 bill and not much to eat. How did he do that? Smiling

Small TADA from last night:
trimmed DD3's hair
caught up on newspapers so now I can put them in the burn pile
made grocery list and meal plan for the week

Well, it will be a big PODA day for me, as Sunday always is, but at least it's a family affair, so keep in mind this is a shared list:

PODA
laundry washed, dried, and folded-looks like 5-6 loads
dishes
counters
sweep kitchen floor
vacuum living room
clean DD3's room
change sheets on 4 beds
make that 7-8 loads of laundry
sort and put away clean folded laundry
pick up clutter everywhere
27 (50) fling boogie in the cellar
clean the bathrooms
vacuum bedrooms
take screens out of all the windows and put away, wash windows
clean out the van
groceries
make Sunday dinner
OAWC-I'll only be able to conquer a week's worth-oh well
handwash DD3's dance clothes
find and try on everyone's winter boots, coats, hats, mittens
Check Powerball numbers, schedule exotic vacation if I won

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.
Jo

Congrats to Mike and Danna!

Hope Dana's morning sickness is over soon! Smiling

Not much flying around here lately, have tons to catch up on. I am pretty much finished with my project. I redone my pantry. I know it doesn't sound like a big job but it was. I shared some pictures with Jenny and Honey via e-mail, if anyone else wants to see just let me know and I'll send pictures. The Magnitude of the job is easier to explain in pictures. Anyway everything should be back to normal in my kitchen by tomorrow afternoon, that's where the contents of the pantry have been for over a week!

It's been a pretty busy weekend for us, DS5 had a soccer game Saturday, his team won and DS made one of only 2 goals Smiling He was so proud of himself. We slacked at homeschooling this week, so next week we'll have to buckle down. DS17 and DC16 both made the A/B honor roll this semester, I'm beaming with pride! Smiling DC16 has made a Big turn around from last year. They have a "band" now, and practice in my garage! Whoo hoo! Laughing out loud There pretty good actually and I don't mind so much as I like knowing where they are. Smiling

I talked to Honey on the phone this weekend!! Smiling :) She sounds lovely! Was very neat to talk to another flypal, I've talked to Jenny several times, always fun! Smiling Honey said I sound, uh, like "Sissy Spacek/Loretta Lynn, from Coal Miners daughter" Laughing out loud Laughing out loud I very much enjoyed our conversation and look forward to talking to her again! Smiling

Ok, the boys are ready to go, and I'm uh, not. Need to get moving. Hope you guys all have a great day!

Semester's Over Already?

That was fast! Good for the boys, doing so well in all their endeavors. I know you are proud of them! I'd love to see your pantry pictures, but don't want to give you one more thing to do. LOL! Sounds like a major undertaking.

Jo (I like your name, it's our nickname for my sis Joanna), I'm trying not to be hard on myself. But DH is not much help this week, unfortunately. Sad He's dealing with his own issues. And my mom, who is wonderful to me, has to work now (she got a job a few weeks ago) as well as my sis, Jo, who is working two or three jobs and moving to CA soon. Sad And all my friends have three-plus kids themselves, so I hate to call on them. I'm definitely more relaxed about mess this time around, and I'm giving baby's feedings priority, since that's most important. Smiling She sure is cute! My eldest really dotes on her. Two more shots on the camera and maybe I can finally get that film developed.

I did make it to the grocery store... TA DA! But had to feed baby twice before getting home. She was squalling something awful in the store, so I let one of the associates (Wal-Mart) hold her while unloading groceries. Ah, the hometown Wal-Mart. I know, germs, but the lady had the magic touch!

I have not finished my proofing job; I've only barely begun it. But I wanted to homeschool this morning, so I'm going to have to put it off until afternoon. I hope that's not too late. House is a mess again (how does that happen so fast?) and laundry is building up. Aaaaaahhh! Laughing out loud

Well, there goes baby. Later!

Susannah
