Your Money Or Your Life
This is the book that made me re-examine my relationship to "stuff," money and life in general. I was honored to interview Vicki Robin many years ago when the book first came out, and it changed my life. For the first time I really, clearly saw how I was trying to use "stuff" to fill the holes of my life, and that there was another way. Reaching FI--Financial Independence, one of the main goals of the book--isn't possible for everyone, especially if they start later in life. But you can become a lot less reliant upon the economy if you put these ideas into practice. Not to mention a lot more content with life.
