Josie's favorite present, 2005
Josie opened this on Yule and went berzerk. We have had to pry it out of her hands to go to bed some nights. Basically what it is, is a bunch of easy-to-assemble electronic components, a "breadboard" (the board you build the circuit on), and instructions for more than 75 projects. Everything you need is included. No soldering is required; it all snaps together. Josie is 8 and not quite a fluent reader, and she still gets everything she needs from this kit. Can't recommend it highly enough, especially since it's upgrade-able; if you're looking at the other Snap Circuit kits, buy this one first to see if your kid likes it. If s/he does, then buy the upgrader.
