    </ingredients>
    <directions>Preheat oven to 350.  Blend shortening and Bsugar together.  Add dry ingredients.  Add milk till dough forms, you may need more than 1/2 C.  

Spread 1/2 of dough in 13X9 pan.  Puree dates and water in blender.  Spread date mixture on dough.  Pinch off pieces of the other half of the dough and drop it all over the top of date mixture.  Flatten a bit with palm.  Bake for 20 min, or til top is golden.  Cut into bars.  Yummmmmm.</directions>
