Secret History

I enjoyed it, partly because I'm a Classicist and the author did a fairly good job of identifying the 'types' you see in academia. But the darkness was a bit heavy handed, and the story plodded along at several points. The writing isn't great, and I would compare it to "Heathers" (The 1987 (?) movie with Christian Slater and Wynona Ryder) without the sense of satire. I guess my biggest complaint about it is that it was trying to get weird for the sake of weirdness, and class snobbishness annoys me, no matter which side of the class line it comes from.
