What's on the needles?

So glad you asked! I've taken up my crafting again in earnest after a couple of years of lackluster inspiration.

I'm nearly done with a ripple afghan which turned into a blanket. This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the hook size closely enough. The gauge is so tight that when I'm done I'll have something like 12 skeins in this thing. It is HEAVY.

I just finished a pair of very simple thumbless, fingerless mitts--a tube with a slit for the thumb--out of some handspun Romney I spun in the grease:

Just now on the needles: Another set of fingerless mitts, this pair much more ornate, and out of Shepherd Sock Solid in charcoal. Ruffled cuffs, a stretchy eyelet for the hand, a proper thumb, even.

After that, I don't know. Maybe I'll just concentrate on the blanket, and then figure out what to make next. I'd like a proper sweater for myself.

The afghan-

-if I remember back correctly, was that out of Homespun? I crocheted a lap blanket out of Homespun when I was first married and it's kinda heavy for something so small.
I have nothing on the needles right now-I just finished yet another baby hat, and now I'm debating another one,(cause 3 just doesn't seem enough! Eye-wink) or to try the teapot cosy. Oh, and I did finish a REALLY long scarf, but I think I'm over scarfs for now.
I love you fingerless mitts! I'd love to try something like that for my niece for when she's got figure skating practice.

Homespun

Yep, it is indeed of Homespun. I think I'm on the penultimate skein. I'm working on it whilst watching TV or listening to a podcast.

I love your fingerless mitts!

I love your fingerless mitts! They must be especially warm with your handspun! Glad that you are back knitting! Smiling
