Kitchen progress: the tile is in!

Lynn's picture

We have been in this fershlugginer kitchen remodel/recovery since AUGUST, and before then our old floor was a disaster. Well, feast your eyes on this (commentary by JJ):

Marmoleum in Barbados (off-white), Raven (black) and Bleecker Street (red--yeah, I don't get the name either). As you can see, the baseboards aren't in yet, nor is the painting done. But oh, man, it's an improvement from this:

End of February it should be 100% done, the railings on the new deck in, the painting done, everything fresh and tidy and re-organized. It's like having a new house. I keep going in there as it is, with the new floor and the stainless steel appliances and countertops, and think I've walked into the wrong house...

Love the floor!

Love, love, love the floor! I like that there are just a few of the red tiles sprinkled around-makes the whole floor pop! Big grin

thank you!

Lenore, you're USER # 10! You've been here forever, and I love you for it. Smiling

Thanks, I've lost a good deal of weight. I don't care for that picture so much (my new icon), but it's the best one I have right now. I have new, much more flattering glasses and a better haircut for starters. Mostly I'm just thrilled to be vertical!

Forever and a Day!

I recently was looking through some old back up discs and found a list where I referred to "The New Homemaker" as being in Beta test stages.....lol. I've been around since before that switch, for sure! I'm thinking 2000/2001?

A bunch of the "old" crew is Facebooking these days. Heaven knows I've been "friends" with Julie, and Jenny, and Andrea, and some of the others for longer than many of my real life friends!

Anyway! I don't care what you say, that is a great picture! How about some new pictures of the girls???

XOXO
Lenora
PS. I'm very glad you're vertical, too! Smiling

Love the floor Lynn

I don't know which I like better, your tile or my maple strip. Both are so beautiful and homey.

I like vertical, and good health, too!

dog in photo?

Hi! I have actually just come upon your site. I was reading the comments from stay-at-home-moms with teenagers. It was so nice to read their posts. Actually, though, I was wondering about the dog in your kitchen redo photo. Is it a Springer Spaniel? Hard to tell. Maybe it is a King Charles. Just wondering because my parents who are in their 70s have a 5 month old Springer who in extremely wild. Just trying to find other Springer owners to compare notes. Thanks!

Henry

Henry is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and is for the most part a sweetie. A Springer puppy may not have been the best choice for elderly folks. I strongly suggest "puppy kindergarten"; he needs trained sooner than later. Good luck!
