I haven't been doing much
I haven't been doing much flying. Last week my washer overflowed and flooded the kitchen/laundry room, so as a result that floor was cleaned. And while I was mopping I did the office, which was shortly a mess again with the kids and dh in and out of the house. I've just about given up on keeping anything clean.
As to what I HAVE been doing with my time: facebook, checked 5 miles of fence yesterday (a few spots I will have to repair in preperation of moving cattle later this week), got new tires on my truck (bigger ones, but not as big as I wanted. Reality took over, I still have to pull the camper. However, DH and I are still going to put a 2 inch lift on it, and we are planning on fixing up one of our older trucks and lifting the crap out of it and putting huge tires on it! I'm such a redneck!!). Helped DH put new brakes on my truck, too. Oh, I did clean the swather header, that took 3 tanks of gas on the powerwasher. There's my cleaning. did some mowing, too.
The rest of this week: cheer practice (and pictures) today. Tomorrow fire meeting (will be cleaning the station good in preperation for 4th of July bash there). Need to work on the weedeater and get some of that stuff done, too.
See, no flying really. Just playing.
Morning!
That's all important stuff though Jenny! Esp. outfitting your redneck truck.
TADA for yesterday:
decluttered my bookshelf in LR - still have to donate books
worked in all of my gardens
laundry
exercised
Not sure what is in store today - have to run to the city to pick up kids.
Andrea
Yardwork and laundry. That's
Yardwork and laundry. That's my day. Fire meeting tonight (so, cleaning the fire station, not my house).

maybe something else?
See you!
I haven't flown much, what
I haven't flown much, what else is new. Busy week with swim lessons, volleyball camps, cheer practice.
I DID get the office cleaned good, as well as the dining and living rooms yesterday.
It's in the 100s today, not planning on doing much of anything if I can help it the rest of the day.
Wow you have had heat! We
Wow you have had heat!
We have had a soggy and cool June and beginning of July. I really want it to be warm! 90's would be good.
Long list today - I'll TADA it later -
Andrea
Andrea, careful what you wish
Andrea, careful what you wish for. We would kill for some more rain. LOL!
weird
Weird, isn't it? We have more rain coming tomorrow, but at least today looks nice and sunny. It is the weekend of our town's festival so we will be busy shopping, eating, listening to music, etc. Should be fun!
Flying? Laundry, exercise, and prep for our own little party here tonight -
See you!
Andrea
Home from vacation
...and had a wonderful time! We were in Tennessee over the 4th of July for a family reunion and then went east to visit Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. We stopped at Monticello yesterday and drove home from there. It was SO GOOD to sleep in our own bed last night! I love coming home!
I cleaned like a crazy woman before we left so not much housekeeping to do. There is laundry (always laundry) and I need to spend time in the garden. My lettuces went a little crazy! Looks like salad is on the menu all week end! I made a quick trip to the grocery last night, but today I'll need to really do some meal planning and make a complete list. I almost hate to put anything back in my clean 'frige!
I did pretty well with the eating while gone. I was only up about a pound from when we left. I think all the walking helped with that. I'm going after the next 10 pounds now. Hope to have it gone by the end of August!
I hope to get through the pictures this afternoon, too. Took a bunch, but don't know how they're going to look when uploaded. We have to go get Bob later, too.
So: PODA:
Laundry
Gardening
Meal planning
Grocery Store
Get Bob
Upload and organize pictures
DH is already out mowing and the DDS are still asleep. We're off to a slow start, but hey! We're still "officially" on vacation!
Love to all!
Lenora
Sounds like an awesome trip
Sounds like an awesome trip Lenora! I have never seen those places -
If you are only up a pound, that's great. I struggle with eating right on vacation.
Still doing festival stuff today - need to exercise first and get on top of the laundry.
We had a fun party here last night so picking up after that too!
See you -
Andrea
Monday
Well, alrighty! I guess I need to come back to reality! I feel like I've been "away" for a long time, even though we were home all week end.
Not much happening today. I'm going to do my Monday sweep-and-swipe, clean the downstairs bathroom and surf the job boards. I've already watered the garden and flower beds, swiped up the kitchen, and the dishwasher is running (forgot to start it last night). Not a bad start for a Monday.
I intend to get back to my exercise and eating plan today, too. I have an unreasonable amount of lettuce from the garden so salad is in the plans for lunch and dinner.
I really need to give my ugly feet and toes some attention. Ten days of dirt and sand walking in sandals didn't do them any good. They need a good soaking and pumice...beyond need, seriously.
PODA
Exercise
Sweep and swipe
clean powder room
look for job
dinner
soak and slough the feet
That's enough for me today.
What are you all up to today?
Love to all,
Lenora
TADA: swim lessons grocery
TADA:
swim lessons
grocery store (believe me, with DS6 and DS3, this is a chore!!)
got all hot spots in my room (it was a big mess!!)
vacuumed and dusted room good
cleaned up master bath (actually, moved back in. I haven't had my stuff in there in years)
3 loads of laundry
fixed weedeater and trimmed front and back yard
dinner fixed and kitchen cleaned
I need to tackle my closet sometime this week. The floor is packed with stuff. Swim lessons all week.
I'm tired, off to bed!
Easy, cool day!
Woke up this morning to find that DD18 had cleaned her room, emptied the dishwasher, started her laundry and made coffee (brought it to us in bed!) WOW! How did we win the fabulous-young-adult lottery?
I'm taking advantage of cool temperatures and a great breeze by roasting a big chicken and a 6 pound pork shoulder. I need to send a couple of meals to one of the guys who works with DH. His wife is having major hip surgery next week and will be out-of-commission for several weeks. I'm thinking chicken enchiladas for one meal and pulled pork sandwiches for the other.
I have a band parent meeting later, then DH and I are going to see the new Harry Potter movie at midnight.
Just heard from my BFF...her blackberries are ripe, so we'll plan on picking tomorrow if we can doge the rain. I hope I can get enough for jam. Balckberry jam is my favorite...Blackberry crumble would also be welcome! ...and blackberry syrup...and blackberry muffins...and..and...and! I hope she has TONS!
I never did get around to a pedicure....maybe tomorrow.
I'm off to the hammock for a bit, then to clean my room before dinner!
Happy Tuesday!
Lenora
Morning!
You've raised that girl right Lenora!! Did she finish her first year of college?
All those blackberry recipes sound awesome??
Speaking of food, have you guys discovered Tasty Kitchen yet? It is Pioneer Woman's latest site. Yum.
Well, let's see - I am working slowly through my kitchen - trying to spend 15 to 30 minutes a day on it. I am seeing quite a bit of improvement. The basement is next. I found a second hand store in a nearby town that will take just about anything, so that helps. trying to sell my Fiestaware on craigslist but no takers yet.
See you!
Andrea
Late and Lazy
..that's me today. We went to see Harry Potter at midnight and got home and to bed about 3:30 am. YAWN!
I've put off berry picking until tomorrow...I'm meeting my sister for a bit of shopping (for her) this afternoon.
Andrea, my DD"almost 19" did finish her first year at Kent State and this is actually her last week "off" because she's taking a class in Summer 3 which starts next week. DD14.5 will be a high school freshman this year and since she's a percussionist, we've already started drumline rehearsals for marching band.
I did register at Tasty Kitchen! Looks great.
My basement is on the summer list too, but I've not been down there yet. I keep waiting for a rainy day and we haven't had too many of those yet!
I'm not even listing a PODA today...too lazy!
Have a great Wednesday!
Lenora
Friday!
I guess I need to do something productive today.
PODA
Start laundry
)
Clean my room (before I can go play
Exercise before DH gets home. I'm doing Hip-Hop Abs (love it!) but I CAN NOT do it with an audiance!
Pre-weekend whole-house tidy.
I may make an appetizer plate and chill some wine to greet the man with when he comes home. He's had a long week.
I never did get my toes done. I have been slathering on the lotion but that's the end of it so far. Probably won't happen tonight.
I'm well behind already so I'm getting up right now!
xoxo

Just got back from Lubbock
Just got back from Lubbock for a quick overnight trip to the SILs. I want to unload the camper then clean it real good, getting ready for our trip to the mountains in about 10 days (whoohoo!!).
First, going to church this morning, then I guess hanging out in town for 2 hours waiting for a baby shower. Need to pick up a gift for that while I'm waiting. Don't forget the cooler so I can put groceries in there while waiting for the shower.
Going to be a very busy week. Thank goodness we are done with swim lessons!
Morning Everyone - I hear ya
Morning Everyone -
I hear ya on the audience thing Lenora - my kids just about bust a gut watching me do aerobics or whatever
Are you going to Mora again Jenny?
Looking forward to a productive day and week. This is my 4th week of summer - I am pretty proud of what I've accomplished, but there is much more to do! I am focusing on my kitchen today - just about done with it. I need to go through the pantry and organize plus the dreaded junk drawer.
Andrea
Monday!
The only advantage of a too small kitchen is NO JUNK DRAWER! I need to get my pantry organized too, Andrea...mine is just a set of shelves in the basement though, since we took the shelves out of the closet in the back hall because there was no coat closet. I hate working in the basement on nice days, so I put that on my "rainy day" list...and haven't had a rainy day. Maybe the universe doesn't think my basement needs that much attention.
DD almost-19 started a summer class at Kent State today. Psychology. Should be a good 5 weeks for her to get back into school mode before the fall semester. DD14.5 has drumline practice tomorrow and then full marching band starts on Wednesday. That will help us all get back into "mornings" since marching band is 8:00 - 10:00 am!
Today I have laundry to finish and get put away and bathrooms to get cleaned. I really need to weed the back flower bed...don't know if that's gonna happen today or not.
PODA
Exercise
Laundry (two loads still to wash and dry...tons to get put away)
Bathrooms
Monday sweep-and-swipe
Dinner
(weeding)
That's gonna take up my afternoon, I think. I'd love a bit of time in the sun since my tan is fading fast...don't know if that's going to happen today. I did get my nails done this week end. I'm still trying to remeber to slather on the lotion at night. I hate sleeping in socks so I do it after diner and then take off the socks before bed. My feet appreciate the attention!
Have a great Monday!
Lenora
Good Morning!
Morning Everyone!
Yesterday I was wishing I didn't have a junk drawer or pantry! I finished them both and I have to say they look great. I did a fair amount of flinging. Now just a few hot spots in the kitchen and that room will be done. Then on to some other rooms - basement, guest room, DD's bedroom. One of my issues is that I don't have an office or desk, so one kitchen counter is taken up with that stuff. Hate it.
Have other odds and ends to do today also -
See you!
Andrea
Tuesday
I was a real SLUG yesterday...everything started and not much finished. I did see a job posting go up yesterday for a district in the city just east of here. I'm taking the application and my resume over there this afternoon. I REALLY would like to have a job for next year. We have to pay the kiddo's tuition for fall in a few weeks and it would be nice to know we don't need to have a loan for it. We can pay the bills on DH's salary...but not college tuition too. It would be a relief to have a position lined up before my paychecks stop!
PODA
Exercise
DD14.5 to drumline
Application submitted
Dinner
SLUG from yesterday
Finish bathrooms
Last load of laundry put away
(weeding if the rain holds off)
Doesn't seem like much, but it will take up my day. I guess I'm going to get up and battle with Shaun T. (the Hip Hop Abs video) He's such a cutie! I was up THREE pounds yesterday. I'm hoping it was Aunt Flo on the scale with me and it will go away in a couple of days..
Have a great day!
Love to all,
Lenora
Ya'll have been busy! I have
Ya'll have been busy! I have at least 3 junk drawers in my kitchen, hate that. BUT, I don't have a garage to put things like that in (although don't I have a barn? Am I allowed to put MY stuff in there?).
Hip Hop Abs, huh. Do you like it?
Andrea, yup, off to Mora! Can't wait! Five days with no electricity or cell service (OMG! No facebook!!! What about my Farm Town and my mafia!!? LOL!).
I've been flinging away in my room. Cleaned under my bed and the floor/top shelf in the closet. Three large boxes of clothes are flung (well, are in the office). I know flylady says don't do garage sales, but my stomach churns at the thought of just giving it all away. About 20 jeans from high school that were worth alot of money (I was glad for my employee discount at the western wear store) and still in excellent shape. And a TV from the early 80's (knobs, no remote), VCR from then, too. I mean, it still works, I just don't want it taking up space anymore. I've considered putting the TV in the boys room and hooking the Super Nintendo to it so they can play Super Mario Bros (yes, they all love that game!). But no room in there right now either.
Ok, so my room is decluttered (or as much as I'm willing to get rid of). I really have to get some mowing done. We've had rain (yay!!) and the weeds are tall now. Gotta keep control of it. When you have about 5 or more acres to mow, seems like once you finished its time to start over. LOL!
Morning!
Good luck with the job hunt Lenora! What a pain in the rear end! It does help to have a cute guy on your exercise video.
Jenny, I may be in FB withdrawal too next week as we are travelling to MT - one computer b/t 6 people - not good.
Off to tackle my list - it is long today.
Andrea
I didn't get as much mowing
I didn't get as much mowing done as I would have liked. Did get the front yard done, around some of the barns and around the other house. Spent more time than I wanted taking off a troublesome blade and hammering it straight again (dang rocks, and ran over a piece of rebar, too). Was planning on mowing more today, BUT...
woke up to RAIN!!! Yippee!!! I don't remember the last time we woke up to rain. Here in New Mexico, our rains are usually in the form of sudden thunderstorms that build up in the afternoon and let loose in the evening with lots of lightning. But DH woke at 2 to pee and announced it was raining then, and when we got up at 6 it was STILL raining. As he left for work I noticed he was taking it real easy down the road, so I'm sure using the 4-wheel drive is in my future today (awesome!!). Wonder if I can unhook the camper and use the pickup instead of the expedition (both are 4x4, but the pickup is so much more fun to drive!).
Anyway, no mowing today. DD12 has cheer practice from 10-noon. And I think I'll just work on decluttering some more. Today: the huge storage closet in the laundry room and if I get that done, maybe the boys room (Lord help me in there!).
Wednesday
...working in the basement. Need I say more?
Yay for your rain, Jenny. It's cloudy and gray here, but we really haven't gotten rain. I really do like Hip Hop Abs. The music is fun, Shaun T is adorable and the 30 minutes go by really fast! I'm going to start alternating the "buns and thighs" workout (more intense) with the cardio next week..It took me two weeks to get the cardio workout down!
Sounds like both of you have trips coming up! Fun. I'm going to watch the weather to see if DH and I can get a week-end away in the tent in the middle of August.....shhhhhhhhh, though. It's a secret!
Well, my break time is over! If I don't check in by dinner time, send down the search party!
Hugs!
Lenora
Morning!
Off to the city - focusing on my list there so not much flying. Did some puttering in the guest room yesterday. Great about the rain Jenny!
Andrea
Monday
Hi friends!
I'm having a hard time getting going today...mentally anyway. DD14.5 is at marching band, DDalmost 19 is off to class and DH is at work. Me, I'm working on my third cup of coffee and still wiping sleep out of my eyes!
I need to get up and get going though. So much time and so little to do...wait...reverse that!
I did get most of the laundry done yesterday, but it is still on the dining room table. Getting that put away is task number one, today. I need to wash sheets today...including a set for DD14.5 to take to band camp this week end.
I'd like to get down to the Cuyahoga Valley to my favorite farm market...it think they've got some early Ohio corn. Yum!
It's trash night, so I want to get another bag of garbage out of the basement if I can...but it is such a pretty day I don't know if I can make myself go down there! Maybe I'll take a movie down with me.
I need to exercise today...going after the "Buns and thighs" this week...we'll see how that goes!
PODA
Laundry put away
Wash sheets
Monday sweep and swipe
Exercise
Farm market
Basement
Dinner
Alrighty! Goal number one is to get the laundry put away and the kitchen counters clean before time to pick-up the kiddo from band...45 minutes: I better get moving!
Happy day!
Love to all,
Lenora
Morning!! It rained last
Morning!!
It rained last night, which is awesome! AND DH and DDs cleaned the kitchen after dinner. Wow, that's amazing! Mark it on the calendar, it may not happen again!
I have been decluttering like mad. Right now I have 5 boxes in the hall of stuff that goes to my SIL for my niece, a box and several bags of stuff in the laundry room to go to goodwill (I guess, if I had time and place I would do a garage sale. Now I"m thinking why mess with it). Another box of some baby misc stuff to go to friend's daughter, and 4 boxes of 18-2T boy clothes to get rid of in the office.
And so far I have only done my room, laundry room closet, and boys room. Next up, the girls room!!
I also did 5 (count them, 5) loads of laundry yesterday.
I was going to mow today, but last night's rain delays that. I can't decide if I should tackle the girls room now, or get groceries. We go camping in 2 days!! And I have a long grocery list of things to get for that (top of the list being BEER! We leave about noon on Wednesday and happy hour begins as soon as we get there!).
Haha - don't forget that beer
Haha - don't forget that beer Jenny!
You deserve it after all the decluttering -
Vacationing now so not much to report -
Andrea
Monday!
Hi friends! Jenny and Andrea I know you're both just getting home from vacation...hope everyone had a great time! I got a call this morning for a job interview. It's on Friday. I'll be a nervous wreck all week!
Today the only task I've set for myself is to clean out and organize my upper kitchen cupboards. The one that holds my bowls/storage containers is a MESS. I never pull anything out with out a mountain of lids falling out on me. Right now it's really beautiful outside, so I may go lounge in the sun for an hour first!
DD14.5 gets home about 4:00 from band camp. She'll be tired...and probably sunburned. I hope she had a ball! If they did a good job, the band director may cancel practice tomorrow. It would be nice to sleep in.
At some point this week, I'll need to get out and find a shell to wear under my suit for the interview. For some reason, the one I wore with it seems to have disappeared. It's probably in one of the girls' closets but if it is....it might never get found! I didn't wear this suit last year...it didn't fit!
My 25th high school reunion is this Saturday. I'm hoping that will be fun. High school WASN'T that fun for me. Not horrible, but certainly not the BEST years of my life (Honestly, I think the BEST years are right now!)
Alright! I'm getting up, going outside to read for a bit then I'm going to accomplish SOMETHING...even if it's small!
Love to all!
Lenora
We're baaaack! LOL! Lenora,
We're baaaack! LOL!
Lenora, my high school years were a BLAST, but not at MY high school. LOL! Most of my friends were either graduated or at different schools. Now that many of us have reconnected on Facebook, I'm debating on trying to get us all together for our own kinda reunion. Reunion of the shitkickers that our high schools didn't want. LOL!
DH's school does an all-school reunion every 5 years. Since class sizes are so small (5-20 per year), it just makes more since. Those are fun though. I fit in better at HIS reunion that I would have at my own. Finding it funny though that three people that I went to HS with requested to be my friend on FB. I accepted, but find it strange they want to be buddies NOW rather than THEN.
Anyway, been working my hiney off all day. Camper is FINALLY unloaded (seems I unloaded more than I loaded. How did THAT happen?). Will have about 5 loads of laundry out of that (2 are going now). Been mowing alot today, too. Took girls to cheer practice. Oh, and did 2 miles of walking/running on the dirt road before kids woke up (saw a coyote). I'm am sweaty and very stinky and filthy right now. Debating on shower first or beer. Beer I think is going to win. LOL!
One down!
I ended up with TWO interviews...one today and one tomorrow. Blech! I hate this part.
Today went well. It was a "canned" interview where they ask a set of prescribed questions and there really isn't any follow-up or flow to the conversation. Not my forte...on the other hand, it's pretty easy to know what those questions will be so I was confident with most of my answers. I'll do it all again tomorrow...and then wait. I hate taht part, too.
Tomorrow's interview is a school in a district about 45 minutes away in an area that I don't know at all, so I'm going to take a drive up there in just a bit. I like to know where I'm going!
Have a great day!
Lenora
Good luck, Lenora!!! We had
Good luck, Lenora!!!
We had our school staff BBQ tonight. The girls and I got haircuts today (with boys in tow of course). Ran a few other errands is town and in Bigger town and now I'm exhausted! Oh, and I ran/walked two miles this morning. No flying, though.
However, this week I have done 6 loads of laundry, and tackled the gigantic tasks of the girls' closet/drawers. And I mean HUGE!! I ended up getting rid of 3 LARGE trash bags of clothes (all hand me downs that we didn't need, I paid it forward and gave to another girl). They still have a full wardrobe after that, and DD12 plenty of hand me downs that are still too big for next year! Awesome! A new wardrobe for them and it didn't cost me a dime!
I need to clean up the kitchen, hadn't really touched it in two days (but I haven't been cooking either, everyone just snacking). Then I'm hoping to hit the sack early tonight.
Let us know how the second
Let us know how the second interview went Lenora? If I remember you are certified at the secondary level for home and careers and possibly some other things, right?
Off to a baseball tournament today for at least part of the weekend, but hope to fly a bit before we leave.
Andrea
Saturday
I've already had a call back for a second interview with the district where I interviewed on Thursday! That would be an IDEAL place for me. Close to home, mid-size district in our county seat. They have a great FACS program. The position if for three foods clases (Cooking for Young Adults, Fun with Foods, and International Foods) and an Interior Design and Decorating class. Design and Decorating would be a class I've never taught...do you guys remember how much WORK my "Intro to Interior Design" class at the university was? Maybe I wasn't posting much then...but it REALLY kicked my butt! It was the ONLY class I ever had to pull an "all-nighter" for! I did end up with an "A" but I had to work for it!
Andrea, my license is for career-technical Family and Consumer Sciences grade 4-adult...officially.
It covers nutrition and wellness, parenting and families, careers, personal and family finance, personal development, independent living, fashion and design...those types of classes.
The reunion is tonight. Still not completely excited. The info says "casual" so I'm wearing a cute pair of crop pants and a sweater tank. I have the feeling, though, that many of the girls will be dressed-to-kill. Oh, well. DH is going with me and he's the best fashion accessory there is
so let them wear what they want!
I fell asleep after painting my nails last night. The fingers are o-Kay, but I smudged my toes. I'm hoping that a glossy top coat will fix it. Silly me!
I'll share all the details tomorrow!
Love to all!
Lenora
