New thread time!
Happy May everyone!
Busy day and weekend for me - won't bore you with the details.
It involves baseball, dance, and scouts though, plus some other stuff thrown in there.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Wow. May already!? I'm
Wow. May already!?
I'm minus two kids today. The girls off on a field trip. I'm going to a friends house to play with the boys.
As far as flying, I do have 2 loads of laundry to fold, one to put away. Need to see if I have any oil to put in the lawnmower and maybe mow the lawn. I still need to get the garden ready to plant (maybe tomorrow when girls are here to get it ready). Dinner needs to go in the crockpot for tonight. House is holding it's own this week. Been crazy with all the end of school events going on (track meet on Wednesday, 4th grade field trip yesterday, 6th grade field trip today. Next week I have kindergarten field trip, week after another 4th grade field trip to Santa Fe/Albuquerque. Not to mention the power point I need to do for kinder grad and baking for that, etc).

Monday
Happy Monday! And the countdown begins. Just 12 days left of school for us (3 weeks. We don't go Friday's, remember?). I've got 2 field trips, a spring program, 1 book fair, 2 graduations (Kindergarten and high school), and hopefully a couple of parties to attend. Oh, and my oldest's birthday this coming Sunday (12 already!?).
Looks like I won't be home all morning. DS3 has appt at school for more testing for him to get into preschool next year. Then must run to town for groceries and couple of other errands. Youngest is also running a slight fever, but says he feels fine. However, I'm completely out of any children's fever meds, which is spurring my trip to town a couple of days early. While I'm there, might as well pick up DDalmost12s birthday present (it's time. She is getting a cell phone. Oh, Lord. But, DH and I had agreed that she would get one when she started doing jr. high sports. She made the jr. high cheer squad last week, and jr. high basketball practice starts in June, followed by volleyball in July and August).
TADA:
*got the garden ready to plant. The girls worked hard on it while I busied myself with other necessary yardwork (like digging out all the sand that has accumulated over the last two years around the fences. I got 2 loads out of a 10 foot section. Whew!). Also mowed the lawn.
*made it to church yesterday!
Ok, not much of a tada. I have alot of stuff going on this week, too much to even post about. Hopefully I can stay off facebook and get it all done (but mafia wars and farmtown are so much fun!!)

Hi Everyone (all 3 of
Hi Everyone (all 3 of you!)
Took the day today so caught up a little bit - laundry done, ordered mulch, visited kennel, etc., etc.
Back to work tomorrow - it has been nice here but not nice enough to plant our garden yet, though we should plant lettuce now.
Jenny, you HAVE to join me in Yoville, please.
Andrea
Happy Birthday, Lynn!!!
I figured that might catch your eye if I put it in the title. Have a good one!
Hey Andrea! Nice of you to join me. LOL!!! Ok, I'll do the Yoville stuff sometime today. Like I need something ELSE keeping me on this machine. LOL! Not warm enough there for garden yet? Going to hit 100 here on Thursday. So much for spring.
As predicted, I didn't get much done yesterday. Load of laundry, some basic picking up. I so want to do a COMPLETE overhaul on my house. We had the school's spring program last night. And the ONE time I didn't bring a video camera was when DS6 was a riot!! EVERYONE could hear him singing all the way to the back of the gym, not to mention his "chicken dance". Oh, lordy. I hope someone got it on tape.
I have a ton of yardwork I want to do today before it gets too hot (93 today). Looks like the AC will get to come on later. Got some deskwork that needs to get done, too (quicken, couple of bills).

Delurking to say Happy Birthday Lynn!!!
Hope you have a wonderful day.
I don't think that the Flylady would approve of the Crocs on my feet or the dishes in my sink .. slinking back into lurk mode now! Be well, everyone.

Morning!
Borrowed a friend's rototiller yesterday and worked on the garden some. That thing is huge and hard to work! And it whacked me on the chin, there is a HUGE bruise and bump there. Looks like my husband has been beating on me. LOL! Did some laundry, some general picking up (especially the kids living room).
I'm hoping I can finish with the tilling and can get the thing loaded back on the trailer and sent to it's home before DH gets home today. Maybe tomorrow I can see if the nursery has the veggies I need when I go to town for DS6's field trip to the zoo. I also have a flower bed to weed and finish getting years worth of dirt blown up by sand storms by the back fence.
Dinner: more leftover chicken ala king and chili.

Hey There Everyone!
I'm still alive, just crazy busy and no internet at home.
I think of you all often, and I really do miss being able to post regularly.
Glad to see everyone is well.

Morning Everyone! Great to
Morning Everyone!
Great to see Jo, Rose, and Lenora posting!! I wish we could see you guys more!
I have missed 2 days of work this week with a head cold. Back today. I did get quite a bit of cleaning done in preparation for a visit from my inlaws - they are arriving Friday for DD's dance recital and will be here for 5 or 6 nights most likely. We had some mulch delivered unexpectedly also! Supposed to come next week but it arrived yesterday. No time to put it down! Oh well.
Have a good day everyone -
Happy birthday two days late Lynn!!

SURE you had a head cold,
SURE you had a head cold, Andrea. I know what you were really up to (coughfacebookcough). LOL!
Yesterday's tada only consisted of yard work. I got what I wanted tilled in the garden, loaded and delivered the tiller back to the owner. And that there wore me out. I'm so sore (and sunburned!) today! Did some other yard work as well. Cleaned kitchen after dinner, ran DW.
I'm not here today. Really, I'm not. It just looks like I am. Off to Big(ger) town for field trip with kindergarten to the zoo. For a town of only 20,000 they have a pretty decent zoo. I was surprised the first time I saw it. Small, but decent. Then I have to get some shopping done (dd11almost12 birthday on Sunday). Tonight is fire dept. meeting (I'm officially joining our volunteer department, though I've been helping for a couple years). So, see. I'm not here.

Hey,I was sick, for real!
I can still be on FB even though I'm sick.
It was half a mental health day, I will admit that.
The zoo sounds like fun. Haven't been to ours in a while.
http://blackcatchronicles1.blogspot.com/
Zoo was fun. I'm sunburned.
Zoo was fun. I'm sunburned. That's ok, I needed something on my arms, they were too white! LOL!
No one in town had tomato plants other than romas, and no one had bell peppers. So today I'm off to another village (in the opposite direction of town) where I know there are some of both (although small). Then the kids and I are going to plant the garden (and I have to take pictures of it for 4-H), and clean the house. DD11almost12 wants to have a friend over (and I want friend's mother to come over, she's my margarita buddy) on Sunday, and realtor is coming by Mon. or Tues. to take more pictures. So I want the place looking decent.

busy day
Jenny, wish you could have sold before the market tanked.
I am determined to have a clean house today. Starting to pile up again, so while boys are at baseball and dh occupied with friend, I am going to get busy. NO computer, NO fb. promise!!
To do
fold and put away laundry
grade papers
get Tahoe washed/oil change
private at 1:30
ok, let's see if any of that gets done!!
Hey everyone - How'd you do
Hey everyone -
How'd you do LInda??
When is school out down there?
Busy weekend with both sets of grandparents here - overlapped for a couple nights. Two dance recitals - 3 hours each! Our baseball plans were rained out - oh well. Still entertaining my inlaws for a couple more days then we need to get busy ont he landscaping and possibly refurbishing our deck somehow. MIL helps a lot with cooking, laundry so that's awesome!!
Have a great day!
Andrea

Hope everyone had a great
Hope everyone had a great Mother's day and that their families let them get some rest for a change (of course, that didn't happen here. LOL!).
My girls and I got the place all picked up and vacuumed yesterday morning. DDnow12 did the bathrooms. In time for our party yesterday for her birthday. Had 17 people here and I think we all had a good time. DD12 got her very first cell phone and she and the friend she invited and a college girl that's friend's cousin happily texted each other the rest of the afternoon (even though they were all sitting in the same room). LOL! Yes, I got the unlimited texting plan. haha!
Saturday we found all the plants I wanted for the garden (but have not planted yet). And I got to help on my first wreck since joining the fire dept. Whoohoo! Poor college girl, last day of the semester, had a wreck on her way home. Car rolled 6 times (she was wearing her seatbelt, thank GOD!). Luckily, she wasn't seriously injured, some cuts and scrapes. But her whole dorm room was scattered across the highway, so I helped clean that mess up. See, never a dull moment around here!
I've got stuff to do at the school today. Waiting to hear from realtor, and need to plant garden (this afternoon when the kids get home, maybe. Oh, I think we have 4-H meeting tonight).

June 5th school is out.
Counting the days. Tying up loose ends. House is a wreck. Had to do laundry tonight or would have to wear dirty clothes tomorrow! Low on groceries. Cannot seem to get motivated. Need summer! I am going to have someone come in the first week and help me get this place organized. Don't really want to spend all summer doing it. The house in Galveston is still not ready. I have been looking at furniture, but can't find any deals. I would have assumed there would be some. Even looking at second hand. Lots of people move during the summer around here. Oh well. Maybe instead of sitting and watching cheer for 2 hours tomorrow, I could get something done. Ha.
Five more days of school
Five more days of school left here! Whoohoo!! Last day is next Thursday (well, Tuesday for DS6).
Went and got groceries this morning. Out of oatmeal, milk and TP. So it was an important run. LOL!
Been maintaining the main areas of the house, but the kids (boys) have managed to trash some. DS6 playing with the mega blocks and I'm forbidden to touch them lest I break them. sigh. Got 3 loads of laundry done yesterday. Finally got DH to watch Twilight with me (then he had to go play fireman/EMT in town when they had to clear their station for 3 calls at once. Was so late when he got done that he just stayed the night at one of the stations in bigger town so he wouldn't have all that driving to do and could sleep instead).
I'm going to work in the yard some today. Will put out weed-b-gone (butt-b-gone? remember that one years ago, Andrea?). Then in a few days fertilize it. Hope to get the kids to plant the garden today, too.
Jenny

I vaguely remember that -
I vaguely remember that - refresh my memory! Man I'm getting old!
You've been busy in your yard - I need to get out in my gardens, but that may have to wait till after our vacation, which will be early June!
Recovering from the grandparents' visits. DH and I did a lot of cleaning, laundry etc.
Typical day today -
Andrea
http://blackcatchronicles1.blogspot.com/
TADA: 3 loads of laundry
TADA: 3 loads of laundry (still one to fold. The dreaded whites). May still have one more to do, DH brought his fire dept. bag in. I fear opening it.
kitchen is cleaned up. DW needs to be unloaded, though.
I haven't been here in what seems like days! Thursday went to Alb/Santa Fe on field trip with the 4th grade. Yesterday errands in town, then inlaws for dinner cuz family in from out of town.
Planning a quiet night at home with my girls. DH and the boys are going to a monster truck thing in bigger town. I would have liked to go, but in the spirit of saving money decided that just the boys should go. Think us girls will make some caramel popcorn and watch Twilight for the 1000th time. LOL!
Have not sprayed the yard yet. Was too windy on days I was actually home. Maybe tomorrow. much to do tomorrow, but I'll tell you about it then.
There is SO much to do
There is SO much to do today!!
*weed b gone yard
*quicken/bills
*kinder grad stuff for tuesday (do powerpoint, get tiki torches and stands, make cookies, attend)
*FFA/Athletic banquet stuff for monday (make a dessert, attend)
*finish planting garden (beans, corn, peppers)
*set up DD12's new volleyball net (and I would like to find all our horseshoe stuff and set that up, too)
*finish up yesterday's laundry (2 to fold, additional load added last night thanks to fire dept. bag)
*mow back/side yard (before weed b gone, of course)
*fill out some preschool evaluation paperwork for DS3
This is one busy week! Also our last week of school. DD12 has finals and banquet (she is a server for it), all have parties (cheerleading pizza party, end of semester/school year parties). Last day of school is Thursday. wow. Next year I will have a child in jr. high, one in middle school (ok, jh and middle school are sorta the same thing. 5-8th. But they can't play jh sports til 7th), one in elementary, and one in preschool. wow.
And I'll be doing it all alone. DH will be at firefighter testing all week hours from here. Thankfully, FIL will be able to run the swather. But I will be learning how to operate that this year (oh, yeah. Add read swather operating manuals to my list).
Sounds absolutely crazy
Sounds absolutely crazy Jenny! But I'm sure you can handle it.
Hanging in here. Work and activities in the evening all week. Leaving for our vacation on Saturday am so trying to prep for that. And keep the house from falling apart. Oh and our dw broke! Major inconvenience when you are used to it.
One of my other "projects" is figuring out our new printer/copier/scanner/fax. It is really nice but I am having trouble scanning and also have not set up the fax yet. I need a couple of uninterrupted hours to do that and that is just not happening!
Have a great day!
Andrea
It IS crazy around here,
It IS crazy around here, Andrea! LOL!! Good luck figuring out the scanner.
STILL haven't done the yard stuff yet, but the garden IS planted. and volleyball kit set up. Laundry done (oops, not folded).
Yesterday I wasn't home all day. Left at 10 to get pizzas for cheerleader pizza party, stayed after that for academic awards assembly/senior scholarships awarded (EVERY senior, again, got scholarships. Some full ride. Wow!! WTG Broncos!!). Help set up for sports/ffa banquet, came home to make dessert for banquet, went back to serve and cleanup banquet. Home about 9:45.
Today:
*take kids to school then set up/decorate for kindergarten graduation
*finish doing the powerpoint for the event
*bills
*make cookies for that graduation
*attend it.
DH is gone til Friday. Party at my house! LOL! J/K.
I'm so tired!! Last night's
I'm so tired!!
Last night's graduation for the kindergarten went well. My slideshow finally came together (I had technical difficulties throughout the day getting it done). Inlaws had a non-related gathering at their house so had to go to it for a bit (who can say no to homemade ice cream?).
Today, did another run to town for pizza (3rd and 4th grade pizza parties). Partied with the 4th grade by filling up 250 water balloons for them. did a mile on the treadmill this morning. Came home after school and mowed the yard, then checked cattle.
Need to tackle some laundry. Won't be around much tomorrow due to elementary awards assembly and an IEP (for DS3, he got into preschool for next year!). And since he will be going to school, I checked with the principle and I CAN sub at our school next year (wasn't sure if I was allowed since DH is on the school board). So I need to do the paperwork for that. Cool!
Cool Jenny! I bet you'll
Cool Jenny! I bet you'll enjoy subbing.
Homemade ice cream, yum!
Last minute trip stuff here - getting my hair done tonight, nails tomorrow - I did pack most of my suitcase - need to make a list -
Have a great day everyone!
Andrea
Have a great trip,
Have a great trip, Andrea!!
Well, school's out here. I spent the last two days at the school with parties, awards assemblies (DD9 got 8 total, DD12 got the creative writing award and one for archery, as well as A/B honor roll). Time for some summer fun.
Let dd12 have two friends stay the night last night, and we watched Twilight. Again. LOL! Twice actually, once last night (I fell asleep) and again this morning.
Working on laundry and the rest of the house. Not being home all week really took it's toll on the place. Amazing, considering no one was here to mess it up. haha! DH comes home tonight from fire fighter academy. I should make a special dinner, wonder what I got that I can dig up. Tomorrow we have high school grad and 2 parties to attend. Dang it, I forgot to get a gift for one of the grads. Forgot about that one.
What did you make
What did you make Jenny!
Escaping reality here, but I will still check in!
Gotta read that darn Twilight!
Andrea
Made pizza. Nothing great,
Made pizza. Nothing great, but better than hamburger helper, right?
Maintaining here mostly. Did 5 loads of laundry since Friday morn. Kept the kitchen decent. Wasn't here yesterday, at graduation then at a grad party til 10 (just hanging out with some teens, a coach, and our superintendent. But it was fun!).
Hmmm, maybe getting a cell phone for DD12 was a bad idea. Instead of her bugging me all night asking if we could go home in person, she texted it to me all night. LOL!
Will have to do some catching up on the rest of the house today. DDs had another friend spend the night, need to run her home (at least she just lives in the village, not all the way to town!). Check the weather, see if I can spray the yard today.
Hope everyone had a great
Hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend.
No, I didn't get the yard sprayed (but going to this morning! promise!!). Sunday I ended up taking the kids to the inlaws and I spent the rest of the day learning how to operate the $80,000 swather. I finally got the hang of it and cut 63 acres of alfalfa hay. Dh spent yesterday cutting another field and the kids and I cleaned the house. Now that I know how to run the thing, I'm the backup if a field has to be cut and he's working.
PODA:
mile on the treadmill (done)
spray the yard
get a shower
clean the kitchen (oops, didn't do that last night)
town to bank, groceries (briscut on sale for .99/pound!)
fill up gas cans (for lawnmower and 4-wheeler). Guess that means I'm taking the truck to town.
check and feed cattle
download and post pictures from end of school year stuff and me running the swather.
May have to replant squash in the garden, maybe cucs too. Other than that it's looking ok. The kids helped with the house yesterday, I set DD9 doing some detail cleaning stuff (the spokes on the dining room chairs, the organ keys, scrubbing the hearth), and dd12 cleaning the bathrooms. Ya know, this whole kid thing may work out ok after all. I just might keep them around. LOL!
Did all my PODA yesterday
Did all my PODA yesterday except the gas cans (took the expedition to town since I had to get so many groceries and I don't like putting those in the back of the pickup in the summer).
Today is another day in town to do some paperwork stuff. DH taking us out to lunch then. He will go cut hay after that and I'll...do more laundry? Not sure. There is no shortage of things to do around here, just not sure what to do first!
Morning! You are super busy
Morning!
You are super busy Jenny! Good luck!
Headed out to Cumberland Island today - hopefully the weather will hold up -
Andrea
Cumberland Island? Where are
Cumberland Island? Where are you?
Yesterday: couple of loads of laundry was all. We took the kids to see Star Trek. Was good. Too many trailers for other movies I want to see! LOL! Transformers, GI Joe, Terminator, Harry Potter...
Today: DD12 has her first sports physical, then off to bigger town to take care of some business stuff.
And tomorrow: back to town. Again. Picking up some goats we are buying. Finally talked DH into letting the girls show animals at the county fair for 4-H. Will start out small with the goats, then maybe next year get into dairy heifers.
Hey Everyone - Jenny - we
Hey Everyone -
Jenny - we were in Amelia Island - near Jacksonville, but went over to Cumberland for the day. Interesting place.
Flying back today and will try to get back in the swing of things - including flying.
Have a great weekend!
Andrea
Andrea, doesn't Cumberland
Andrea, doesn't Cumberland island have wild herds of horses on it? Seems like my mother goes there once a year as well.
I ran 150 miles yesterday running errands. Don't have to go back to town today because the goats came to us this morning. SPent the morning putting together a pen for them (corrals weren't going to work). I think that will count as my exercise for the day. LOL!
I DO have to fly today, though. Not sure where my desk is, and laundry is backing up. DH is grumpy, would like the whole house cleaned up before he gets home so he doesn't get worse. LOL!
Yes, there are 131 wild
Yes, there are 131 wild horses there! We saw many of them - really cool. I felt like I was on Survivor though - hot and hiking around a deserted island!
Back home and trying to make a plan - lots to do but DS has a game at 3:00 and I need to go pick up the darn dog.
Andrea
