Thanks for the new thread,
Thanks for the new thread, Andrea!!
Linda, When dh and I did our kitchen last year, we decided to do granite tile. It's a dark brown/black and the grout is very dark as well (and very thin). It's a very inexpensive way to have granite counters. I paid just over $10/sq ft for the tile, and we did the work ourselves.
Our cheerleaders took 2nd in state for our division (1A, which is very small schools). Wish I could have been there for them.
I finished all the Twilight books, and now I want to reread them. LOL! I guess I'm a tad obsessive. I did get caught up on all the laundry. I feel a little guilty for not accomplishing anything I had planned for Spring Break, but oh well. Going to spend the last day of it vegging with the kids. Can't do much in the wind anyway (have I mentioned how much I hate the wind? A 65mph gust actually KILLED a man yesterday! Seriously. Was opening a door and the wind just caught it and slammed him against a wall, killed instantly). DH was out much of yesterday (his only day off for the next week) fighting grass fires. Ugh.

Morning Everyone! I can't
Morning Everyone!
I can't believe how quickly you finished those books Jenny. Do you think I would like them?
Hopefully your wind has died down.
Busy day today - at least DH suggested going out for dinner -

Wasn't here yesterday. I
Wasn't here yesterday. I went to bigger town to take pictures of men jumping off a 4 story building. LOL! Dh's fire class have been working on ropes, knots, and ropelling (sp?). He asked me to take pictures of it and that took most the day (took about 350 pictures of all the guys). Was windy, but not as bad as it was over the weekend.
Andrea, I think you would like the Twilight series. It's more of a love story than vampire action. An appropriate love story for teens/tweens as well. Try the first book, see how you like it. I've been listening to the Twilight soundtrack for 3 days now. Awesome!
I've got a couple of loads of laundry to do. Also need to mop. May be safe today, not as much wind. Need to schedule appt. for dd11 sports physical for cheer tryouts. Need to weed some stuff in my closet as well. WAter the lawn I thinks, too.

Maybe I'll have to check
Maybe I'll have to check those books out next. Reading Friday Night Knitting Club right now.
That is a ton of pictures Jenny!
I am ready to start my 10 day spring break - yay!! Very excited for the change of pace. Have a few plans, but nothing big. Going to try to finish washing windows and do some organizing, etc.

Happy Easter!
Easter Bunny managed to do his/her thing this morning rather than last night due to boys who wouldn't go to sleep. Girls had spent the night at dh's aunt/uncle's house who had their granddaughters with them for a few days. We will be over there later for big easter cookout.
DH should be getting off work about now, we will go to his parents soon for breakfast. I've already made a banana bread (in a bundt pan) and broccoli casserole for cookout, all I need to do is get myself ready. Picked up living room as I hid eggs.
Poll: was it wrong for my girls' easter presents to be Twilight posters (including one of just Edward)? I mean, my husband won't let me put it in OUR room, figured I can gaze/drool at it in there room. LOL!
Time to attempt to make myself presentable so I don't scare small children today. LOL!
Jenny

Happy Easter everyone! LOL
Happy Easter everyone!
LOL about the Twilight posters Jenny! Are you thinking it's wrong because it's a vampire on Easter or b/c you are buying a poster of such a cute guy for your daughters' room?!
Church today and then out to eat. Also went out last night for a friend's bday dinner so I really need to start over with my diet tomorrow. Would like to avoid the beached whale look when we go to Florida if at all possible.
Looking forward to getting some stuff done around the house this week.

Oh, definately because it's
Oh, definately because it's a HOT guy for my daughter's room. LOL! Edward's a GOOD "vegetarian" vampire, he's watching out for her. hahaha!!!
DH forgot his wallet today, so I have to run it all the way up to him before lunch so he can eat today. Might as well take the pickup and hit the feed store for cattle mineral (then attempt to find the mineral tubs that the days of 60mph winds have blown away). also need to get groceries. Fridge and pantry looking awfully bare. Need to plan my menus/list.
4-H meeting tonight for me and the kids, school board meeting for DH. Going to try to fix some bbq chicken for dinner.

Ok, well I'm putting Zac
Ok, well I'm putting Zac Efron on my DD's wall then!
What a pain about the wallet Jenny.
Trying to get a lot done today - scrapping, blogging, etc.
See you later!

home all week
My daughter had surgery to remove a birthmark on her face. Pretty large. Covered the left side of her face starting at the eye and going to the ear. 1st of several surgeries. She faired well. I am home with her all week. We will actually take her to cheer tomorrow so she can sit and watch. Sent taxes off today for an extension. Yuk. I never get them done on time. Should be caught up on all the chores today. Laundry is current. Today is going to be shred day. Electricity on at beachhouse. Looks pretty dismal there. Went down on Saturday. Picked out tile. Ready for it to be done.
Jenny, I started Twilight series, but really need time to just read. It is a pretty easy read though. I am off the computer today! Company coming later to visit.
You are so much more
You are so much more disciplined than me, Andrea. I haven't touched scrapbooking in a couple of years. I keep making excuses (right now the big one is that my printer and filing trays are on top of all my scrapbook stuff).
I was gone nearly all day yesterday, so there was no flying. The kids had fun at 4-H last night. DD11 and DD9 want to take hunter safety classes now. LOL! I don't think they care much about hunting, they just want to shoot guns (fine with me. I LOVE to go shooting, but I've never shot anything alive other than snakes).
I have ALOT to do today. Laundry, fixing dinner for tonight (DH is on shift and asked us to bring dinner for the station. I'm making lasagna, salad, and need to find a recipe for bread machine garlic bread. so that's another trip to bigger town this week). I THINK most the cold weather is behind us, I want to wash and put away coats (of course leaving out a couple for camping trips this summer). Have kinder. grad meeting after school. Going to relist the selling of our ranch with a different realtor so need to get the house fairly neat in case he comes by this week for pictures.

Yesterday's tada: made
Yesterday's tada:
made lasagna, banana pudding and salad to take to the fire station (brought a loaf of bread rather than make any)
4 loads of laundry done, folded, AND put away
Got out cheer notes (reminder to turn in uniforms!)
cleaned dh's bathroom
Today's poda:
bills/quicken/checkbook (done. Too much month at the end of the money!!)
Go to dd11's cheer clinic afterschool and see what I can do to help her with her cheer/dance
exercise
take out trash/empty all wastebaskets
pickup boys room
pick up living room
vacuum
dust
Ugh, what's for dinner tonight? Maybe tuna casserole. Even though DH doesn't really like it. Can't have beef EVERY night!
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Yesterday's TADA: *emptied
Yesterday's TADA:
*emptied all wastebaskets
*bills (mentioned that before)
*vacuumed (not everything, just a couple of rooms)
*did ALL zone chores for the kids bathroom. Washed all towels and rugs, shower curtain, and really scrubbed the tub and everything. Looks good (but just wait)
*dinner--grilled cheeses for kids, chicken/onions for dh, cereal for me
*made caramel popcorn and watched Garfield with kids and DH (per dh's request. He misses the kids alot)
PODA:
*zone chores in kids' rooms (I'm trying to do flylady stuff again. Haven't been very good at it in a while)
*haul my butt to the mailbox to put the paid bills in there (guess it doesn't count til they actually reach their destination)
*Go thru boys clothes, get out summer things (I think I had this on the list before, just haven't done it yet)
*water back yard
*plan garden
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Wow Jenny! You go girl! Why
Wow Jenny! You go girl! Why do you have cereal when you are such a good cook? Yuk!
I am actually getting some scrapping done - yay! Also need to clean my bathroom today - ojoy!
Andrea
http://blackcatchronicles1.blogspot.com/
How much scrapping did you
How much scrapping did you get done this week, Andrea?
I ate cereal because I don't like grilled cheese w/ american cheese (I prefer velveeta, but we were out. DD11 was making dinner for the kids), and there was just enough chicken/onions for DH. That's ok, I love raisin bran!
Yesterdays TADA:
*cleaned the boys room. I stripped everything off beds and washed all sheets, comforters, mattress pads, and blankies (each kid has about 5 special blankies/quilts). Also straightened up all toys, found a walmart bag of misc stuff for trash, vacuumed, and dusted (found a surface to actually dust!). The bedding took 4 loads to get all washed.
*went thru all the boys clothes, packed too small stuff away, got out next size up for DS3 and summer things for both. I'm so sad packing some of the small stuff away. DS3 is my last baby and I won't need these anymore. sniff, sniff.
I had a sore throat most of yesterday, I fixed a big pot of veggee beef soup for dinner. It was YUMMY (dh whined that I cooked it too hot. LOL!)
Today's PODA:
*the girls room. It's actually not too bad. But I do want to wash all the bedding in there, maybe spot shampoo the carpet a little.
*exercise (haven't done this all week really)
*download easter pics and post on blog
dinner: not sure. DH is working, so something fun for the kids maybe. pancakes? chipped beef (dh hates, kids love).
DH is off this weekend, mentioned doing something fun. DD11 has a field trip on Monday to local mini-golf/batting cages to celebrate a week of testing done. So we don't want to do that (it's in bigger town anyway). Not interested in either movie at the theater in town. Hmmm, just ain't much to do around here. Maybe I can talk DH into letting me get the horses out and riding. Cheap fun entertainment (unless Dude throws me and it's a trip to the ER. LOL!)
Jenny

So far 2 pages (a lot for
So far 2 pages (a lot for me). Hope to get 2 more done before Monday - that is my goal anyway!
Don't get thrown Jenny!
Going out tonight for dinner, thank goodness!

Monday. Bleh. More so
Monday. Bleh. More so because this week we actually have to go to school FIVE days. Yup, Friday, too. This will be a long week.
Not here today. DD11's class is taking a field trip. The entire middle schoo/jr. high are going to play mini golf and batting cages in big(ger) town. I'm going to play, ur, chaperone. Have a great day!!
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
I've decided what I want for
I've decided what I want for my birthday (besides Metallica Guitar Hero). I want a batting cage! Man, that place was so much fun! I could have hit balls all day long! And it really gave me a workout. I'm sore in the places that NEED to be sore!
Ok, so Monday I did nothing because I wasn't home all day. Literally. Ended up having to go to the county electric coop. annual meeting so I could vote on trustees (mainly to make sure someone DID NOT get elected), and we didn't get home from that til 9. At least it was catered, so I didn't have to worry about dinner!
Yesterday I did do 3 loads of laundry. Had one kid that stayed home from school sick. Unsure how many will make it to school today. As of last night, DD11 had NO voice, and DS6 was losing his. I DO plan on exercising (a cindy crawford tape that always makes me sore). And the temps supposed to be in the mid 80's, so maybe I'll work outside and get some sun on these white legs!
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
I DID exercise yesterday!
I DID exercise yesterday! Did a 45 minute Cindy Crawford tape and I'm feelin' it today! Ouch!! My legs are so sore!!
Had two kids stay home sick yesterday. But I think all will be going to school today. Hope so, because I will have to be there today. Bake sale for the preschool (no, I don't have a preschooler this year, but teacher asked for help due to lack of parental support with the class this year). I made banana bread muffins for the sale yesterday. Did a couple of zone chores: changed/washed sheets on my bed and cleaned up the ceiling fan. Watered the back lawn, too.
Need to put sprinkler on my garden area today, get it all wet so it will be easier to get tilled up. Weird day, it will be a school night tonight. We actually have SCHOOL tomorrow. Ugh. I'm going to a friend's house to figure out what we are going to wear for prom (hehe! Yup, our husbands are taking us to prom!!).
Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/
Hi all! Prom sounds fun
Hi all!
Prom sounds fun Jenny! You'll have to take pictures! 45 minutes is a long time. I am doing good if I get in 20 minutes with my DVDs.
Not much flying going on here. Very busy in the evenings lately so just maintaining. Keeping up with laundry and dishes.
Have a great day!
Andrea

Not much flying yesterday.
Not much flying yesterday. Wasn't home much. Did keep the kitchen clean, family picked up main areas of house before DH got home. Spent an hour laying on the trampoline getting some sun.
Today, probably some laundry. DH's only day off til next Sunday. Spend some family time with him. Gotta do something nice to my hair for the PROM tonight (borrowed cute skirt and top from friend yesterday as we played dressup at her house). Get kids to inlaws and go to town for a fun night out (if you think being 30-something and hanging out with mostly high schoolers is fun. LOL! At least there will be some other adults there, too).
Jenny

I'm not sure WHAT to do. I'm
I'm not sure WHAT to do.
I'm home alone. ALL alone. DH has gone to work. And my children, ALL my children, are at my inlaws. They spent the night. All of them. Even the baby (who is 3 1/2 now, but has never spent a night without me. And nearly all of those were by my side).
I'm unsure how to spend this time. Wow. Really, I don't know if I should relax and enjoy it, or should I clean like a mad person with no one to mess it up behind me.
Prom was a BLAST last night. Really, I think I danced more at this prom that my own two high school proms combined. It was SO much fun! Great bunch of students there. Too much fun.
Jenny

Gosh Jenny - that hasn't
Gosh Jenny - that hasn't happened to you in years!! What did you end up doing? I would have the same dilemma.
Glad you had fun!
Heading into another busy week - maintaining and getting the basic cleaning done so far-
Went to a baseball game today - our minor league - FUN!!
Andrea

Andrea, I ended up vegging.
Andrea, I ended up vegging. Playing mafia wars and farm town simultaniously on facebook. LOL!
I DID get the garden watered. Rather, the spot for it. Will be prepping it this week, maybe plant next weekend?
It's going to be a busy week here, too. Appraiser supposed to be coming out (don't even ask), a new realtor coming buy (don't ask there, either). Trip to Bigger town tomorrow to sign some papers, will make another trip on Thursday for dd9 field trip. Wednesday help with elem/middle school track meet (4-6 grades). dd11 has field trip on Friday (I'm not going due to transportation conflict. ds3 isn't allowed to ride the bus since he isn't a student, but field trip is 3 hours away and I'm not about to follow in my vehicle. MIL is going in my place and dd9 is going along too).
I think I'm going to turn in early tonight. I'm so tired!!
Jenny

Massive cleaning today. New
Massive cleaning today. New appraiser is coming either tomorrow or Thursday (and potentially messing up my track meet or field trip plans. But what can you do?). So need to get the house picked up and mopped/dusted/vacuumed. Fortunately, the house doesn't worry me a WHOLE lot. House is an added bonus on a ranch. Its either a good house or bad house (or I supposed EXTREMES on both sides, too). Ours is good house. He will mainly be looking at barn, fences, wells, water tanks, native grasses.
