Happy New Year!! Everyone

Happy New Year!!

Everyone stay up late partying last night? LOL! We stayed in, had leftovers for dinner, DH crashed on the sofa about 10, the rest of us watched stuff on Disney channel (I love Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly place. Just a kid at heart I guess!). I had a margarita to welcome the new year, and 'bout 12:30 we all sorta went to bed (dh couldn't be budged, stayed on the couch).

Got up this morning and cleaned up the kitchen, unloaded DW. Now enjoying my coke and email/blogs. Black eyed peas are soaking, we are having that with collard greens seasoned with ham hocks (didn't have any hog jowl in freezer), and I did some digging and found a prime rib in the depths of the deep freeze. I'm also making a vidalia onion dip (but don't have vidalia onions here, so I make due) and we have cheese/crackers and summer sausage for appetizers. Inlaws are bringing relish tray and homemade crescent rolls. I think we will be well fed. Need to come up with something for dessert.

Some guy DH works with is coming over to go hunting later. Other than that, just vegging.

sounds like a plan

DD decided to spend the night with friend. DH and DS shot off fireworks. I watched the ball drop at 11:00 NY time and was in bed by 12! DD still not home and DS and DH went to hit baseballs. Went and got my car inspected, registration and oil change. That is it for today. Vegging and reading the rest of the day!

It's coming down!

jennye's picture

I'm taking down the Christmas decorations today. and hopefully will even get it all put in storage (aka falling apart bunkhouse next door). Today is the day I'm glad I once again didn't do outdoor decor (although I am a redneck, so if I did I'd probably just leave it up. LOL!).

Yesterday was good. Got all the traditional crap made and ate (note to self: see if they make blackeyed peas in cans. Made way too much and DH the only one that will eat the leftovers. Sent much of it home with inlaws). The prime rib was pretty good, even though the freezer wrapper said 2004. Goes to show you that things DO last longer than a year in the deep freezer. Never got around to making dessert, but MIL brought the remainder of her Christmas goodies, and I don't think anyone even ate those, we were so full. MIL helped me clean up the kitchen (always nice), and the girls went home with them to spend the night.

Putting finishing touches on my goals for the new year (its kinda long). DH is working today. I did 15 minutes on treadmill. Maybe later I'll do another 15. I just have a hard time staying on it for 30, I think of all the other things I need to do! LOL!

Julie, good luck with the thing at work!!

Jenny

Yes!

julhome's picture

They do make black-eyed peas in cans. I don't like them, and Mom had a can in the cupboard for a long time. We also keep food in the freezer a long time Smiling

My friend Debbie watches TV on the treadmill. Even that is not enough distraction for me. I can do 30-60 minutes, but only if I carefully plan a playlist at just the right tempo, and listen through headphones very loudly. Must be completely absorbed in my own little world of the music, or it ain't happenin', baby!! Heck, I even need the tunes in order to exercise in the water for an hour--I'm such a whiner!!

Congrats on getting the decorations put away. I've accomplished nothing around here...such a slug.

Christmas stuff DOWN and boxed up!
Most boxes put away (stuff I store in the house. Still need to put stuff in bunkhouse)
Took down curtains in LR, washed them. Cleaned blinds slat by slat and washed window.
went to town and got 1/4 cord of firewood
picked up some mail waiting at Post office
picked up girls from inlaws

I'm exhausted, emotionally. Something came to head tonight and I'm just drained. I just want to go to bed.

Me too Jenny!

LindaM's picture

I am sorry Jenny, I hope things are better. Today is a new day.

We are going to church this morning and then 3 hours of cheer practice. Didn't sleep well last night, so I am loading up on coffee this morning. Went to check out my RV yesterday after a friend said he had some wind damage. Turns out buzzards or squirrels ate my rubber roof. Took it into the shop and they said it needs a whole new roof. Called my insurance co. Hopefully they accept the claim. Dealership thinks they will. $500 deductible. I am sick.

My goal is to slow down on our spending. This is so easily sabotaged!! Biggest waste is eating out, though. It is tough when you have a fast food restaurant on every corner and are constantly going from one thing to another in the car! We have done real well around here the last couple of days. It is all in the planning. If I have defrosted meat, I can whip up a meal. Spaghetti, tacos, hamburger helper... I made the most wonderful quesadilla, but I am the only one that will eat that! The kids will eat Ramen noodles, but I won't. DH will throw a steak on the grill at 10:00, but we can't eat on his schedule. I am going to sit down and figure out how to eat around all our activities. I probably need to really write everything out.

I am working on my goals for this year, but it is really hard when the kids activities take all the time away from what I want to do. I am trying to figure out how to incorporate their activities into my goals. I know that I can be more connected with the cheer moms. I am going to work on that today. I think I am going to try to do daily goals. I think I will make a master list and then make one or two daily goals and go from there! That might allow me to stick to them a little better. Who knows!!

Morning!! Thanks for the

jennye's picture

Morning!!

Thanks for the kind words. It's all going to be ok, eventually. LOL! No one is sick, just some financial trouble.

Linda, If you ever have a few hours without running somewhere, you may try fixing a few meals all at one time and freezing them. Like, when I buy a family sized package of ground beef, I may brown up the whole thing with onions and seasonings and tomato sauce/paste for speghetti sauce. Then make TWO lasagnas and put the rest in a freezer bag. Same with meatloaf: while I'm already making one, make two in the same amount of time and freeze the other. It's not quite Once A Month Cooking, more like Once a Week. Then just pull out of the freezer that morning or night before.

We stayed off the computer all day yesterday! Went to church, had potluck and board meeting afterwards. did three loads of laundry yesterday afternoon. DH working today. Both boys have a dr. appt (shot for DS6, yearly and possible shots for DS3). I'm just so darn excited that we finally have health insurance! DD11 had a friend spend the night, she will run around with us and I'll drop her off at her mom's work later.

School starts tomorrow. I'm glad. I mean, I love the kids being home, really I do. But I miss regular routines.

Morning gals!

got to send the kids back to school today. They get out at 1 though, big weeklong basketball tourney, our school is hosting it and games start early today. Kinda quiet around here when it's down to just one kid. LOL!

I have a quilt I want to finish and another I want to start the quilting on. Me and the kids pretty much got the house picked up last night, I'm happy with it for now. Got a load of laundry ready to wash. Need to find the top of my desk. It's here somewhere...

Happy New Year all. Great

80sGirl's picture

Happy New Year all. Great job Jenny. One of my resolutions is getting healthier. It looks like you started off with a bang. Great work. I need to keep up with you. Lol. LindaM I like your ideas of creating goals for the year. I should definitely do something like that as well. Eye-wink

Hey everybody!

julhome's picture

Here on floor time again today. Not as fruitful as Saturday--which led me to showing a bunch of houses Sunday. Oh well, I'm kinda enjoying myself here just puttering around the office.

The strangest thing happened today. I finally dragged myself to a 30 minute yoga class that I haven't been to in a long while. After I left there, it's just like I had some kind of incredible epiphany about how things can be so peaceful and easy this year! Just had a few organizational ideas that are going to make some difference, and I guess I'll blame the rest on endorphins! LOL!

Go ahead, you have my permission to laugh hysterically at me next week when I'm pulling my hair out over something too overwhelming. Hey--I'll take a little peace and optimism anywhere I can get it!

Here's hoping you all get a nice big jump on your new goals!

Have a good night,
Jul

Hi Guys!
I didn't know the forums were still up with Lynn's remodeling! So just catching up here...

I'm glad everyone had a nice New Year's! I wish us all good luck with our goals. Mine are pretty standard - exercise, eat right, and catch up with my scrapping!

Must run at work now - we had a two hour ice delay today!

Morning. Haven't been flying

jennye's picture

Morning.

Haven't been flying much. But kitchen and LR/dr was picked up last night. DW unloaded this morning.

Yesterday I helped DH put up a basketball goal for the kids (there was an old homemade one in front of the "bunkhouse", but no concrete. We pulled it up with the loader and got it by the barn. Finished a table runner quilt.

I need to make 2 dozen of something for breakfast for basketball games tomorrow. DD11 has an eye dr. appt this afternoon. DH is working today.

I'm still kinda down and things are very tense here right now. Not sleeping well, not eating much (hey, it's one way to lose weight! LOL!). It will get better, I hope. At least we are all healthy.

Happy new year all!!!

I am here again. My new year's resolution is to spend much, much more time on TNH. Smiling

Great to see you Becky!

julhome's picture

Take care, Jenny. Hope the clouds lift soon.

Brought home a few organic food items from the store last night. I've always been a bit of a scoffer, but it does make me happy any time ingredients are printed in English rather than Chemicalese, so I've decided to open my mind. Taste test results: three for three. Price comparison: two for three. Not bad.

Till tomorrow,
Jul

Hi Guys!
I love the organic section of our Wegmans Julie - some really good stuff there.

Jenny, I really hope things get better soon. You do not sound like your normal self.

DD11 had an eye appt.

jennye's picture

DD11 had an eye appt. yesterday. She finally complained this week that she was having problems seeing the board from the 2nd row (been going on since before Christmas break, but she never said anything). Getting new lenses for her glasses. We discussed contacts, but insurance only covers one or the other for 12 months. Maybe next time she can do the contacts. I'm secretly glad; contacts and the whole eyeball thing grosses me out!

One way to lose weight: just don't eat. LOL! I've been SO stressed the last few days, the thought of food makes me sick. I've had nothing but a hotdog, a 6inch subway tuna, and slimfast the past 3 days! Yesterday all I had was a coke. The results: I'm down 7 pounds since New Years. May not be the right way to lose weight, but works for me. My body never did like doing things the normal way anyway.

Today, no school (yeah!). But we have basketball signups at 9, practice til 11 (hope someone steps forward to coach DD11's team. 5th and 6th grade girls and boys have no coaches. This is NOT something I can do, for a change. I honestly know nothing about basketball). I got 2 loads of laundry done yesterday, but only because some 3 year old took a nap in underwear rather than a diaper in my bed.

Oh, and I'm working on opening my little craft store. I only have one item posted so far. I was taking pictures of other things yesterday and haven't had time to post them. But I'll get ya'll the link. Handmade items. Like really cute baby burp cloths and right now smaller quilts (table runners, wall quilts). I don't like to quilt on the machine, I prefer to do it by hand. Which takes a while. Larger quilts will have to wait. So, if any of you like quilts in your decor but don't know how or no time to quilt, contact me.

Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/

don't make baby stuff for now Jenny

Becky's picture

The new lead-testing laws are going to make it hard to sell anything handmade for babies or children for a few months until the loopholes get sorted out, so keep your store to adult quilts and decorative items until the dust settles on the law. http://www.handmadetoyalliance.org

I am waiting for DH. He keeps saying we need to go out and run errands (DS is at daycare because I start back to school on Monday), and then getting sucked into some stupid fight he is having on the computer. ARGH.

Becky, does that count baby

jennye's picture

Becky, does that count baby blankets/burp cloths? The only things I make are fabric only. I'll check out the link, thanks for the heads up.

Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/

It may count them for now

Becky's picture

I am SURE it won't count them permanently (although you may want to contact your Congress member and senators to help speed things along), but it looks like there will be a period of a few months when you could risk fines for selling anything at all baby-related unless it is from completely unbleached, undyed cotton using unbleached, undyed cotton thread (or other unbleached, undyed natural fibers); or if you aren't risking fines, the ISPs and Ebay and Etsy and all those might not want them advertised for that period; that kind of thing. The law was just written very sloppily. Fortunately there has been a lot of citizen comment about it, so I am quite sure it will be fixed quickly to make more sense.

ANYWAY!

PODA:
-get some groceries with DS
-take DS to the park with DH- we are having a big group "playdate" with some of his daycare friends
-handwash the dishes that have been languishing in the sink because they can't go in the dishwasher
-take out the trash
-daily stuff (dishes, laundry)

Happy Snowy Saturday!

julhome's picture

Bigtime snow here north of Pittsburgh. I LOVE my garage and I LOVE my Subaru. That's all I'm gonna say about that...

Had floor time this morning. Began some puttering on trying to make my office a home away from home. Everything here is extremely convenient, so I want to try and take advantage of that with the things I need for my daily comings and goings.

Hope to fill some garbage bags at home tonight and tomorrow morning. Floor time again in the afternoon.

Take care everybody--I'm SO glad to have you around again.

We did a weekly blessing

We did a weekly blessing today. The girls and I got the house picked up, dusted, and vacuumed. I'm working on some laundry, also. Beat Guitar Hero II on medium. DH and DS6 put a new engine in the kids 4-wheeler. Just hangin' with the family today.

Sunday

jennye's picture

DH is working today. I've been up since before he left (about 5:50). Kids and I will go to church, have to take pickup. Expedition has another flat tire. Will have to get it up to Discount Tire next time I head up there. In the meantime, gotta keep my pickup plugged in so it will start in the mornings (need to replace the glowplugs, but as with most newer vehicles, too hard to get to them to replace. Got the glowplugs, will try to get it to the fordhouse one of these days).

Need groceries after church. Then I plan on sorting thru papers/bills, etc. It's about that time again. sigh.

Morning folks! Got the bills

jennye's picture

Morning folks!

Got the bills sorted and organized, checkbook balanced yesterday. It was real nice outside, so I let the kids run around on 4-wheelers while I cleaned out and vacuumed my pickup and the expedition (even cleaned the insides of the windows, which were getting bad). And if I could have found where my husband has hidden the Armorall, I would have done that, too.

I did my home blessing on Saturday with the girls, so not sure what the day has in store. Well, besides laundry. DH will be home from work in a bit, we will probably catch up on our DVRed shows, I'll work on a quilt I guess. I do have to make out some cheer notes for homecoming game this week.

We are headed towards some really cold weather this week ... hopefully we will handle it ok.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hope your cold weather doesn't detain you from too much, Andrea.

We had 4-H last night, DH had school board meeting. Tonight I have two JH basketball games, plus BB practice after that. We may ditch practice so DH can see the girls a little since he is off today.

Cheer notes. Must do cheer notes. Big game on Thursday (homecoming). Load of whites to fold.

Yes, it's cold here, too, Andrea!

Been doing my deliveries as well as someone else's this week. Got a flat tire on my own car last night. Dear Old Dad had to come put the spare on in the snow. Need to take regular tire to get repaired.

Had realtors lunch meeting today, after delivering chocolate in the a.m.

Did you ever have a picture in your mind of how you want things to be...and feel like it's so very close, but...

I have been completely booked with cheer and school for the last week. Went to competition last weekend. Girls won 1st place and high point. They are truly awesome!! Going out of town this weekend again for cheer. 13th wedding anniversary on the 13th. No big night out. Just hung out as a family. I was away from school for 2 days this week at a conference, but had an awesome sub, so am not too far behind. Doing a ton of laundry right now so we have clean clothes to pack. DS will be with DH, so need to make sure he has clean clothes too!! DS got a volunteer job at the church doing the powerpoints and helping to work the cameras and sound. So proud of him. DD promised she would go to bible study with a cheer friend, so I will be freed up to do a bible study myself. Yea, finally. I am signed up to do one on a Monday starting the 26, but would rather do one on a Sunday since I have to be there anyway.

Jenny, I hope things are getting better. This too shall pass. Hang in there!!

What is so very close Julie?

What is so very close Julie? What do you need to do to get there?? Bummer about the tire.

CAUTION: venting and self-pity ahead...read at your own risk!

julhome's picture

Oh Andrea, I just mean being "this close" to the perfect job and the perfect schedule and all the other perfect things falling into place to make life smooth and nice--but never quite gets there.

However, I am really on a roll today. The tire rescue is all over and done with, but last night--after a day of funeral, real estate, exhausting heart-to-heart with a good friend, and five hours working at the mall--I get home to a lock that will not open.

Long story short, I called the landlord and got him out of bed, to come stand on the porch with me in 0 degrees or less for over an hour, trying everything we knew to get the lock to turn. He even tore off the stripping and tried all kinds of things to "break in".

Finally we gave up and I drove the 17 miles to stay at my mom's, where I eventually got warm, but did not sleep.

Yes, poor Miss Chloe was on the other side of the door meowing her little heart out, and then had to go to bed with no dinner. Thankfully her dish was full before I left yesterday and she had plenty of water. It's now after 11:00 and I'm at the office. Still can't get into the apartment, and I know my landlord is working on it with either his son or the locksmith, but gee whiz--I want a shower and my kitty and my own bed! By the time I get there she's either going to cling to me all night, or be REALLY pissed off!

After such a busy tiring long cold week, this was my only day to be warm and peaceful at home before I kick in again tomorrow for an open house. Instead I'm camping out at the office, crying in the bathroom, and eating leftover chips from yesterday's tailgate party (Go Steelers!).

Becky--nice to see you...hope DS feels better soon.

jennye's picture

Wow, haven't been on the computer since Wednesday! Was kinda nice, although I didn't get anything done.

Julie, hope you get in soon! Why on earth does your door not unlock? I know EXACTLY how you feel right now with things just not clicking even though they should.

Linda, congrats on the girls win!

Becky, poor DS!

Hi Andrea!

Things aren't looking good here. No news, but keeping fingers crossed. I really don't want to elaborate much in this public setting. We'll just say I'm still kinda down.

I took my new mexico teachers assessement exam today. Took me 3 hours (they give you 4). 100 questions, plus a 2-4 page essay. I think I did ok. MIL watched the kids for me, DH is working. As a result of my test (which I had to pay and sign up for months ago), DDs missed their cousin's birthday party in Texas and DD11 also missed a basketball practice.

We cheered this week for homecoming, had school yesterday (which is unusual for us), basketball practice yesterday for dd9. I did grocery store today, don't plan on going back to town til Tuesday (dd11's new lenses for her glasses are in). Going to ditch church tomorrow.

Ever been away all day and come home and house just doesn't smell fresh and clean? I mean, I know it isn't real dirty and nasty, not a really bad smell. Maybe it's just being locked up for winter. I feel like I should go do some spring cleaning.

Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/

spring cleaning already?

Becky's picture

Ack! That's a little early!

DS seems to be feeling better already. The rash didn't seem to bother him a whole lot in the first place except when he was being wiped, but after a day of meds he seems not to be crying about being wiped, either.

I'm tired and not feeling too well, so I'm going to log off for the day.

Found the source of my "not

jennye's picture

Found the source of my "not clean and fresh" smell. There was a bag of trash that really needed to be took out. Also the fridge needed a good cleaning, so I emptied it out shelf by shelf and cleaned it all out. Baby steps, right? Was fairly nice so I opened some windows, too.

Never too early for spring cleaning! I may take down and wash some curtains today and clean blinds (not all of them. Just one room. Maybe the dining room. Or master bedroom). Supposed to be nice again today. Hopefully I can open windows again. Also have laundry to tackle. Veggee beef soup for dinner.

DH is sleeping. They had fires all night/morning last night. Four of them total (two different houses, one sofa in an alley, and a rekindle on one of the houses. Arson is suspected I think, teens maybe. Houses were abandoned already, but DH was so darn excited, he got to make entry on them!). No, my husband going into a burning building doesn't scare me. I'm actually more scared of the EMS side of things. He had two different AIDS patients a few weeks ago that he had to give IVs on.

Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/

so tired

Becky's picture

DS went to bed "early" (for him), so I came downstairs planning to do some cleaning in the kitchen. But I didn't. I still might, though.

Monday

julhome's picture

Jenny, I'm sure you did great on the tests...boy, you sure are getting close, aren't you? Must be exciting! Hope everything else picks up soon. Maybe I'll email you with a pep-talk! Smiling

Finally got into the apartment just after noon on Saturday. Landlady's son had to chisel out the entire lock and then replace the whole thing. Miss Chloe was pretty traumatized, but she got over it.

Got a nice nap at my open house yesterday, LOL! Didn't really expect anyone to show up in the snow. I, however, fell in it while trying to take my signs down, and hurt my right knee, which is the one that occasionally gives me grief anyway.

So, today I did mega-shoveling to get all the snow off my stairs and sidewalk. One of the perils of living on the third floor! Tomorrow is going to be my hibernation day with Swingtown marathon that was supposed to happen on Saturday!

Catch ya later,
Jul

Julie, I envy your snow. I

jennye's picture

Julie, I envy your snow. I hate the cold, but would take the snow to get the moisture. I might even shovel it. LOL!

No, not getting closer. My best guestimate is I still have 6 semesters (3 years) left to get my degree. It's because I have been so busy with the general eds and whatever I could take online, since I can't very well take the ones not in school to class with me. I'm mainly stuck with the education courses; which have to be taken in a certain order.

Am hoping we get some good news today. Waiting to see if our farm loan is renewed or not. Frustrating not knowing if we can farm this year or if we have to sell out.

I need to pull DD11 out of school to take her to town and get her new lenses put in her glasses. Will run to the bank while there and probably the grocery to stock up on milk and bread. Hopefully that will keep me away from town for a few more days. Need to fold laundry, do weekly blessing. Also this week hope to tackle the kids' rooms. They need some thinning out or something.

Got the laundry done,

jennye's picture

Got the laundry done, kitchen clean (except the floor). Other than that was busy with bills. Always fun, isn't it? wish it was someone else's money. LOL! Wasn't home last night due to all kids having basketball practice (well, all but DS3). Ended up having to take one girl all the way to town afterwards when she couldn't get a ride home.

I'll try to get blessing done today. Really, I will. DH gets home sometime this morning from work. So we will catch up on our DVRed shows and maybe watch the movie I picked up in the library (Star Trek VI).

I'm trying to get something of the sort done in the next hour. Maybe.

Wed.--got bathrooms cleaned

jennye's picture

Wed.--got bathrooms cleaned and boys room fairly picked up. Good thing, a potential buyer dropped by to look at the place (unexpected. Had seen it on the internet, decided to look for themselves rather than contact the realtor. But hey, that's how things work in the country. DH knew the guys family, anyway. and knows that they have money. So hope the young couple liked the place).

Second Friday in a row we have school. Bleh. Be glad when we go back to our 4 day week. Had BB practice last night, girls have it again tonight. Games to play tomorrow, a funeral tomorrow, games to cheer at tomorrow night.

I want to tackle the girls room today. My plan is unflylady. I want it all done NOW. DH is working, so I have him out of my hair. LOL!

Jenny
http://heresyourtrouble.blogspot.com/

Boy, sure is quiet around

jennye's picture

Boy, sure is quiet around here lately.

Boy, did I tackle the girls' room! LOL! Flylady would not be proud. I took everything out except the furniture, books and clothes (clean clothes that were put away, that is). Threw away the obvious trash (old papers). Moved all the furniture away from the walls and cleaned under, vacuumed. I put all their crap in their little living area in many, many boxes. When the girls got home from school, they saw how CLEAN their room was. Then they saw the room with all their crap, and I think they realized how much junk they had.

We are sorting thru it all one box at a time. We got about half done last night, one whole box overflowing with stuff to get rid of. So far, half a big trash bag of other stuff to throw away. Many treasures have been found. We gave it up about 10:30 last night. Will try to do a couple boxes later today and hopefully finish by tomorrow.

But today, we have basketball game to play in town this morning. Swing by a funeral (I baked a cake for it last night), and basketball game to cheer at tonight. Tomorrow we have church, then yesterday they called a admin council meeting. DH has Lion's club stuff to do that afternoon. Boy, his two days off sure will be busy. I ironed a shirt for him to wear to the funeral this morning.

Catch ya'll later!

We have been so busy with Cheer. We went to Fort Worth last weekend and won! The team is doing fabulous. Got up this morning to take son to BB tournament. They lost so now we are home. DD is at friend's house and has 3 hrs of cheer practice today. She was supposed to spend the night, but I had to go get her at 10:30 pm. She missed her mom. Dropped her back off at 8:00.

Have to go pick up RV from shop today. Birds ate the rubber roof off and it has been in the shop. I would like to bring it back here and clean it out. I need to find somewhere different to store it.

Jenny, I know how you feel about the house smell. When we go out of town for the weekend, I usually come back and notice the smell in here. Sometimes it is the cat box! We have an attached garage, so sometimes it is the trash that someone forgot to drag to the curb. PU.

Linda, is your cheer squad

jennye's picture

Linda, is your cheer squad just for competitions, or do they do "real" cheerleading (I mean, on the sidelines for football and basketball games). We cheered last night. Well, my elementary squad did. I have two groups; one preschool-3rd grade, the other 4th-6th grade. They looked cute, as always. Even when they don't get all the moves right, everyone (including the opposing team) loves them.

I haven't touched the piles from the girls room yesterday or today (yet). We have just been blowing and going. We ditched church, but still had to go for a board meeting (and I really am thinking of quitting my position on the board. The meeting today was stupid. Sorry Lord, but it was). Thinking on switching churches, too. That's a hard one. Not for here, though.

Got more dry ice for DD11's science fair project (the batch I bought yesterday melted before we attempted project). Did that. I have laundry going, planning my week (which is BUSY!), need to pick up house before DH gets home from his activity. Hopefully will tackle more of the girls' stuff. After DD11 finishes her abstract (which has put her in a BAAAAD mood. Lordy!!).

Morning Everyone! Good luck

Morning Everyone!

Good luck with all the activities today!

Jenny, I "quit" our church a few years back for a year or two. I just wasn't connecting with the pastor. Then we came back when a new pastor arrived and have stayed there, though DH doesn't come much. Now we have yet another pastor who I like even more.

My big TADA from the weekend is that we cleaned 3 area rugs with our carpet cleaner. They look SO much better.

Regular day today - at work now -

See ya!

TGIM! LOL! I'm SO glad

jennye's picture

TGIM! LOL! I'm SO glad it's a normal week again. School on Monday, none on Friday.

Ok, I'm slacking. The girls and I didn't do anything else in their room over the weekend. We were going to last night, then we ended up watching the Duggar family all night on TLC (or one of those channels). I was tuckered out anyway. but I did go to bed with the kitchen cleaned up.

I'll work on weekly blessing this morning, finish up some laundry. gotta take two things DH sold on Ebay to the PO to ship (dh is working today). Gotta do some cheer notes today (games AND yearbook pictures tomorrow!). Tonight I must split myself and be in two places at once. LOL! DS6 has a BB game in town at the same time the girls have BB practice at the school. MIL is taking the girls. Remind me to take that movie back to the library! I forgot the last two days!!

Andrea, not sure what we are going to do yet on that. DH doesn't go much with me either. And anymore these days if he doesn't want to go, I want to stay with him since it doesn't seem we see a whole lot of him. I have an area rug to clean one of these days. A child spilt a yogurt and tried to clean it up himself. Bless his heart. Actually, I would like to shampoo all the carpets soon.

I watched the Duggars last night, too!

home sick today

LindaM's picture

Am staying home today. I think I tried to do too many things and just am fatigued. Went to Bible Study last night from 7-9. Felt crappy, but vowed to go. Ended up staying home today anyway. I am also thinking there is something in this house that is making me sick. We still have the generator in the garage and I think there must be oil or fuel seeping from it. DH also said there is a gas can in there. Made an appt to be checked. Fatigued more than normal, but am trying to be everywhere and do everything. Will do lots even though I feel iffy. Beautiful day, so I am opening the windows to let in some fresh air...

* made bacon and eggs
* loaded dishwasher
* sorted laundry
* folding and putting away 2 baskets and watching TV at the same time.

Now I am going to lay on the couch and watch tv.

The Duggars drive me crazy. I can't stand mom's voice. However, dad did say "buy used and save the difference". They are incredibly good stewards of their money. Heck, I have trouble supporting this lifestyle!!

Jenny, DD only does competitive. They can't cheer here until 7th grade, she is in 5th.

Need more hours in the day to accomplish everything. Need to stay off computer and facebook. Need more energy too! Hopefully visit to dr will shed some light on this. For all I know it could be the cold/hot/cold/hot of the weather and all the dog hair on the floor!

New experience today...

Bought groceries with food stamp card. Made sure to buy healthy things. Linda mentioned good stewardship, and that's exactly what I prayed about this morning. To be a good steward of what feels like a gift. Wanted to thank everyone on my way through the parking lot. Ok, so I'm a weirdo.

This afternoon I want to see about a part time job at the Y. I really need to keep spending time there for yoga and swimming if I expect to ever get any better at all. Hoping that working a few hours a week at the membership desk will get me a discounted rate.

Jenny, where are ya, babe?

...not weird

lgunnoe's picture

...at all. We used WIC when DD18.5 was a baby. It was a gift and a blessing and I was grateful for it. It is odd not to have anyone specific to "thank" for these things when we feel like we want/need to express it.

Oh, I'm around. On DH's

jennye's picture

Oh, I'm around. On DH's days off I sometimes don't even turn on the computer (which was the case the last couple of days).

Girls room is done. Looks great! Except for a couple of boxes that are full of items waiting for it's match (such puzzle pieces, one walkie talkie, etc.) I'll take them to the boys room when I do it next.

The house is COMPLETELY clean. Realtor emailed Tuesday night and said someone is coming to look at the place this morning. Still need to pick up DS3's trains, but other than that the place is clean. I'll set a timer to see how long it will stay that way. Won't be long I assure you. I'm taking in another kid for a couple of days. One of dd11's friends and teammate. Doesn't have a ride for practice tonight, tomorrow, or for game on Saturday, dad asked if I would mind. Of course I don't. Love this kid. We won't be home much this weekend, SIL here for FIL's birthday.

I'm going to try to pick up the yard some. One thing different about trying to sell this place as opposed to just a house: they usually don't care much about the yard, and the house not all that much either. The barn, the fences, corrals and grass is what they care about. As long as the house isn't real old and run down. LOL! I also may run to town for a few quick groceries, but then again, I may not. Free day today.

blah...

LindaM's picture

One day it is 80, the next 30. I hate cold weather. I want it to be summer. I want to be out of school laying on my float in the pool!!

So excited I have a girls night out with Cheermoms. We are playing bunco and drinking lots of wine! No kids. Woohoo! Saturday I have my yearly lunch with my old boss. He always supplies me with lots of nice presents at Christmas, so I always look forward to seeing him. One day I might want my old job back!!

Off to tumbling class. DD is kicking and screaming. She doesn't want to go. Too bad. We are all tired and need a break. DH is out of town. I ordered the movie Freedom Writers and it came today. Unfortunately, it also came yesterday!! I wanted it so bad I must have ordered it twice. Plan on watching that if my Tivo is empty.

Good luck on the property Jenny!

Home Sweet Home

LindaM's picture

RV is finally out of the shop and I brought it home to spring clean. It is so nice to have 26 foot of clean space! I might just sleep in there tonight!

Skipped church this morning to grade papers and get DD to cheer early. Played Bunco Friday night and had so much fun. Saturday went and had lunch with old boss. Took DD and DS to movie. We saw Mall Cop and Hotel for dogs. Both were ok. Mall cop was funny in a pathetic sort of way. So many "chick flicks" out there. Wish I could see one of those.

Not much flying here. We signed up on when to host bunco and I signed up for July. I might be able to have people over by then!

Never being home takes it's toll. Dog is shedding so bad, it is almost out of control. YUK!
