Howdy folks! I'm baaaack!Howdy folks! I'm baaaack! LOL! Had a great visit with my mother, who left about 30 minutes ago (5:45am. Dark-30 I call it!). Too short, of course. Seems like the week FLIES by when they are here. We stayed busy, of course. Went shopping one day, had a basketball tourney on the other side of the county one day (from 8:30am-9:30pm. Loooong day. I was almost thankful we lost all our games so we didn't have to come back the following day). Had our annual music festival thing for Lion's club, and yesterday had our public cheer performance with the high school girls (their send off to state competition). It was busy! The house maintained pretty well. But I do need to catch up on little things, as well as tackle some big projects coming up. ya'll have a good one! Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Heidi Got most all the laundryGot most all the laundry done yesterday, including ironing!! Just got to put together the socks. Baby C was CRANKY. You could not put him down without him crying, and sometimes then he still cried! He also doesn't like to sleep in the playpen, he only took 2 short naps (rather than two long ones). But with him crawling now, I don't want to lay him on the bed. Thankfully I don't have him today (we thought I would, but mommy's plans changed). Five more weeks til mommy's school is out. Since I couldn't yesterday, going to get my weekly blessing done today. Also need to do some baking for 5th grade bake sale tomorrow (I'll be working it). I will also tackle some big decluttering project a little bit (just haven't decided which one it will be). Good Afternoon! No CrankyGood Afternoon! No Cranky Babies Please!!! I liked them better when they could finally talk....and now they talk back!! LOL TADA PODA Heidi Not talking or talking back. Not talking or talking back. Hmmm, not sure what I prefer! LOL! I piddled yesterday. I didn't get weekly blessing done. I did however get my banana bread made (4 of them). First 2 were for bake sale. Other 2 was because DH had an ambulance run and it was DOA (he was 83). For his family. I'll have to make something for the funeral dinner, too, whenever that is. People are dropping left and right around here these days. DH knew that when he signed onto the fire department and got his EMT stuff, that he was going to be going to alot of people's houses he grew up knowing. It's an aging community out here. This is his second DOA. Anyway, I have bake sale and IEP meeting today. Girls have practice afterschool. I did declutter a bagful of stuff in the craft closet. That counts for something. ![]() Gotta be hard for DH Jenny.Gotta be hard for DH Jenny. That is a job I don't think I could do! Not a whole lot going on here - just busy with the usual. Baseball season is starting. DS's first practice is today! He is not home yet - I am excited to hear how he likes his team. There are only 4 in the majors. Vacuumed today. Our new furniture arrived today too. Yay! It looks great. Besides that just tidying up - made easy dinners as everyone was all over the place. See ya! Bake sale made $412. Yay!Bake sale made $412. Yay! It will be used for their field trip to Alamogordo to the Space Museum and White Sands. No flying. I'm busy reading every chapter of Pioneer Woman's "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" love story. Andrea, you know what I'm talking about, right? ![]() Yep! She cracks me up - sheYep! She cracks me up - she is a very good writer! How about all those "chaps" pictures - OMG - Ahh, it's Friday! WhichAhh, it's Friday! Which means I have help today. I'm going to have the kids help with the weekly blessing (because really, I think kids should have to learn these things. The house doesn't clean its self ya know). Also going to work on the girls' room with them. DD10 has asked for a slumber party for her birthday next month, and that is one of my terms and conditions for it to happen. LOL! Then this afternoon we have day 1 of basketball tourney, 3 games tonight, at least 3 tomorrow, in a neighboring village about 30 miles from here. Hey gals! Everyone have aHey gals! Everyone have a good weekend? Busy as always here: BB tourney all weekend (unfortunately, both the girls lost all 6 of their games. Bummer). Then church, board meeting, groceries yesterday. But did anyone SEE that UT/LSU game last night!? WOW!!! And as usual, I didn't do a single bit of work that I said I was going to do on the house. I didn't have the kids help with anything special, we just maintained. Didn't get the weekly blessing done either. BUT, I'm fixin' to do it right now. Really, I am! I also have tons of laundry to do. DD10 has practice after school (one more tourney, and we are done!). My news to do, too. And while I'm on the subject of news: Well, time to get a move on! Hello Walls. It's good toHello Walls. It's good to hear your voice... Feel like I'm alone here, talking all to myself! LOL! Yesterday's TADA: I also managed to have 2 slimfasts, an orange, a banana, and for dinner had 2 sandwiches. Gotta get these last 10 pounds off! Today is Baby C day. And boy, he is cranky (but what else is new? He is actually happy for the moment on my lap, so I'm making this quick). I'm hoping during his naps that I can get something decluttered just a little (my closet maybe? the girls room is worse with the 3 boxes of handmedowns that were delivered on Saturday, plus switching out summer/winter clothes, outgrown clothes, etc). I should fix something fun for dinner, NCAA Woman's championship is tonight (UT vs. Stanford. Go Lady Vols!!!). We will see. Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Heidi ![]() Hi Guys! The LadiesHi Guys! Hi Heidi - does DH do those things willingly I hope? TADA: My parents are flying in Thursday for a few months so my life will change again. It will be nice to have the support here - my Dad had skin cancer surgery today - if you wouldn't mind keeping him in your thoughts and prayers that would be great - See ya! 125, if I'm lucky, Andrea!!I'll be thinking of your father. I bet it will be nice to have them closeby again. Don't forget to return their vacuum! LOL!! Yay, the Lady Vols won! Whoohooo!!! Chaulk up today to a big ol' NADA! LOL! Baby C was CRANKY! I did finally find one thing that he liked: to sit on my lap while I play PS2. I have almost completely found every last thing in Star Wars LEGOS II. His mama texted me tonight to see if I can watch him tomorrow, she got called in to sub. So I think tomorrow I'll tackle the bits and pieces of Harry Potter #4 game. LOL! Too bad I can't do Guitar Hero III with him on my lap. LOL! It would be safe to say tomorrow is a NADA as well. I may have to run out to the field and help DH move tractors around, easily done with a baby or two. No Baby C today! MamaNo Baby C today! Mama didn't have to sub afterall. Which means I'll have to get something productive done, huh. I'll report back later. I'm sick today. Achy,I'm sick today. Achy, headachy, just blah. I felt a cold coming on yesterday. Yesterday I got some stuff thrown away out of the girls room and fixed up an old laptop for them to have in there (once it is clean, that is). No internet, just games. Won't hold much anyway, the sticker on it says Windows 95 (but it has WindowsME on it). But they can use it for writing their stories and playing solitare. LOL! The wind is BLOWING and the sand is beating my windows. Good day just to stay inside and rest. ![]() Yuk Jenny - hope you areYuk Jenny - hope you are better soon. I did return my folks' vac. We got our Dyson repaired - it was only 44.00 I think. Not bad. He replaced the filter and found a plug in it somewhere I guess. I probably could've done it myself. Oh well. He suggested we keep the old filter to have one to switch in and out. The dog promptly ate it! Busy afternoon after work: Andrea Good Evening! TADA morningGood Evening! TADA PODA Andrea-my mom is looking to buy a new vacuum. She wants to see what Consumer Reports says first. Hope your parents got in okay. Jenny-sorry to hear that you're getting sick, hopefully the kids won't catch it. Have a nice night. Heidi Heidi, I have LOVED myHeidi, I have LOVED my Dyson. So far I haven't had any problems with it. Except that I need to clean out the brush more than I would like, too much long hair in this household. LOL! In fact, that is what I need to get out today. After yesterday's sandstorm, I have dirt EVERYWHERE. Under every window and door is just a solid layer of sand and dirt. There is a huge mound outside by the back doors, too. Our swing set is thrashed, I don't know if DH will be able to fix it or not. The house kinda fell apart yesterday too. With me being sick and achy, I didn't do anything but veg. I'll have to play catchup today. Finally got most of theFinally got most of the girls room DONE. And it looks much better now. Took out a broken chest of drawers and moved another piece around and it looks bigger now. We still have a tub of misc stuff to go thru (that is how I clean, put anything in the tub or trash. We can go thru the tub little at a time). Also went thru drawers in the dresser and got rid of a few things. Made homemade pizza for dinner, then had a relaxing evening with all 6 of us watching Karate Kid and eating popcorn. Oh, and DH showing the girls how to do an IV. He left tubing all over the dining room. :eyeroll: I'm being bad and ditching church. And I have to say it's partly due to gas prices. I need some groceries, but also need to do errands during regular business hours (like the bank). DH wants to take the kids bowling, but they are closed today. Can't do that til Friday, there's another town day. So saving my town day for tomorrow. Going to work on bills and cleaning my desk while DH is out plowing. Kids are still asleep, so another good reason, too. LOL! ![]() Interesting tub methodInteresting tub method you've got there Jenny! I don't blame you about church. I am really trying to limit my trips to the city as it costs about 10 bucks for the trip - too much! We do have a nice Wegmans and Super-Wal-Mart here plus a few other stores so it works ok. TADA so far: Still want to do some scrapping and maybe take a walk - See ya! Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA I hear ya about gas prices. I may just buy a horse! I have always tried to consolidate my errands but am really doing it intentionally nowadays. It is too expensive to just "run to the store real quick". I am kinda bummed because I used to love getting in the car on a nice sunny day and play the music and take a ride just to go for a drive. Oh well...those days are gone. Heidi I'd like to see you doingI'd like to see you doing your errands on a horse, Heidi! LOL! Wouldn't help me much, I have 2 of them and don't even get to ride them (that will change very soon. more later). It would still be 5 miles just to school, and 25 miles just for a gallon of milk. Andrea, hope the red crayon came out! I got 3 loads of laundry done yesterday, and did alot of sorting bills and other paperwork on my desk. Still must print checks and mail the bills and transfer money so bills won't be bouncing. That wouldn't be good, would it? Town day. DD10 has BB practice after school. DD8 is narrator for a program for the school board tonight (I'll have to tape that one!). Just me and the kids for dinner then. It will be a beautiful week. I have lots of outdoor things that need to be done (like working on prepping the garden. I'm going to have a good garden this year. Produce is too darn expensive!!) Have a good day! Yeah, Jenny, I can seeYeah, Jenny, I can see myself "drive"up to the window at McDonald's on a horse!! Heidi Drive-thru window on horsebackHEY, back when we first got our Burger King (fall 1993. I just moved here to go to college), a friend of mine DID go thru the drive up on his horse. Picture was on the front page of the paper and everything! Knowing him at the time, I'm sure alcohol was involved. LOL! That horse also came in his house during a wild party we were having at the time. Don't even ask about my 19th birthday party at his house. Let's just say there was ALOT of alcohol, table dancing (not by me, a bunch of guys. Think the table got broken because of it), a few holes in the walls, a window broken, and DH (then darling new boyfriend) got into a fight over me (which was really stupid on the other guy's part. My husband is a big guy, and back then he wasn't fat). Left a good dent in the other guys truck. Dang it, I forgot tomorrow is Baby C day. Think he and I will play Spiderman 3 on the PS2. PS2 is about the one thing that really makes him happy, just plop him on my lap and he is mesmorized. Oh, town day was fine. Lots of errands done in p-town. I'll go to c-town on Friday for bowling and get the thing I couldn't find in p-town. Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA Tomorrow is DS first track meet. We are looking forward to watching him run the 100 and 200 dash. Have a good day everyone Heidi ![]() Hi Guys - That's fantasticHi Guys - That's fantastic Heidi! Must feel so good! They are the spawn of the devil, aren't they?! I am using one only now because it gives me great rewards - Chase Freedom. I pay it off about every week so it doesn't get out of hand w/o me knowing it. Good luck to DS in the sprints! I got quite a bit done today - I am on my spring break with the kids. DH has to work. My parents are here so we are doing a few things with them. DD is at a sleepover now since 1:00 pm. DH and DS are at baseball practice - ahhhhh, quiet!! Just trying to do some scrapping, reading, Zones, and maintain! Spring is finally here - robins out, grass is greening - a little cool today but the rest of the week looks awesome. See ya! Good luck to DS in his trackGood luck to DS in his track meet!! Andrea, enjoy spring break. It nearly got up to 90 here yesterday!! It was actually hot in the house, even with all the windows open and fans going. I ALMOST turned the AC on! LOL! But didn't (that would be ridiculous, since I'll probably have the heater on tomorrow night!). In the 80's again today, but wind is supposed to blow. Bleh. I'm hoping it won't be too bad, I would like to work on getting the garden cleared out and ready to plant in a couple of weeks. But also need to work in the house. Kinda fell apart yesterday with Baby C here all day. But did catch up on my PS2 playing. LOL! Got laundry, a round robin, and vacuuming to do. Yesterday DH was mad IYesterday DH was mad I didn't turn the AC on. LOL! He was hot (tempature and under the collar). Of course, I knew a cold front was blowing in last night, and its now 43 outside. LOL! I did some detail cleaning in the girls' room. Washed curtains and windows, along with an additional load of laundry. Then I spent too much time working on a new dish for dinner (Andrea, PWs Chicken Speghetti thing. It was yummy!!). Baby C's mom texted me this morning to see if I can watch him this afternoon, of course I said yes. It's just a few hours. I haven't been very motivated to do much housework anyway. I need to set a timer for 15 minutes. We can do anything for only 15 minutes, right? But I'd rather go back to bed (the phone was ringing at 5:30 this morning too. First DH's cell, then when he didn't answer, they called my cell. It was an emergency, though). ![]() Hi Guys - Let me know howHi Guys - Pretty big PODA today - I'm watching two extra kids though so may get a bit crazy. Remember I'm just used to two at a time! anyway, I'm off to tackle that. It is really gorgeous here today so may start with a walk outside with the dog - Happy Friday all! I got toHappy Friday all! I got to sleep in til 8, and all the kids are still asleep now. Kinda nice and quiet for a change. LOL! Andrea, how was that walk? I've decided I'm going to move my treadmill back into the house, set it up in the new office. There just isn't any other place for it. I'm having a hard time dieting, I just like to eat too much. LOL! Oh, the chicken speghetti was pretty good. The girls weren't crazy about it and prefered to lie and say they weren't hungry, DH said it was good and wouldn't mind if I fixed it again, the boys ate it up. I think if I used lowfat soup in it that it could be pretty healthy (and you can't say that too often on PWs site, can you?!). I got 2 1/2 loads of laundry done. Baby C was cranky, had to be held at all times (which makes laundry difficult. Hated it even when I set him on the washer while it was running). Girls had BB practice last night, then DH decided "lets go bowling", so it was up to c-town to bowl (two games were $50!!), Wendy's for dinner (I love wendy's, but I'll probably never go back. Place was dirty, they tried to screw up the order a dozen times, service was horrible). Then home by about 10:30, and bed. Today I'm going to finish the laundry, then maybe help the girls work on that tub of stuff to be sorted in their room. Should be back in the upper 70's today, so playing outside in order as well. Maybe I can work on cleaning up the garden. I'm sure we all had aI'm sure we all had a terrifically busy and productive weekend, since NO ONE was around here, huh? I was here, but didn't want to be the only one posting so I didn't. LOL! Actually, we were pretty busy. Thursday we had gone bowling. Friday we vegged at home (and I caught up the laundry and worked on cleaning up the garden). Saturday we played and lost 6 basketball games. Or 5? Don't remember. Sunday we went to church (yay!!), got groceries, and then came home and decided to ride the horses for the first time in 10 years!! The kids loved it, and I blogged about it (www.jandjessary.com). I'm hoping this starts a trend, not just a one time thing. There is much to do today, however. Because I didn't get hardly any housework done all weekend. So, my PODA includes: I know I have disappointed flylady with my decluttering, especially my clothes. So I have come to a decision. If I don't lose these last 13 pounds by the end of May (Andrea, that will only bring me down to 125, NOT 97!!), I WILL get rid of all those clothes in my closet that don't fit. Really, I will. It's time to shape up or...not. I'm going to quit procrastinating on the treadmill and quit feeling guilty that I should be spending that 30 minutes doing something productive. Have a nice day!! Only 1 month+1 day of school left!!! But whose counting? ![]() Hi Guys - Jenny, theHi Guys - I was around this weekend, just not posting. The site has been SO quiet. DH did a lot of yard work this weekend - including the mulching. It looks great! Today I need to do a WM run, stop at the library, and laundry. Dinner of course. I am back at work today so my list is small - I think it's perfectly fineI think it's perfectly fine to not have done much during the weekend, it is time to relax and take a deep breath! I have about 2 seconds whileI have about 2 seconds while baby C is taking his nap (praise the LORD!! He is especially whiney today. AND his mother forgot to pack him a BOTTLE! Got the formula, nothing to put it in! We will see how he does with one of DS2 sippy cups. I have NO bottles, I gave them all to her when she found out she was pregnant!!). I've been decluttering the boys room during the nap. Don't count on getting much else done today. Yesterday got laundry done, but not folded. Got bathrooms done and house dusted (well, LR dusted). Not much, but it helped. Then I played around on iTunes and with the 5 chords I have learning on my guitar. Oh, and 15 minutes on the treadmill (guilt set in). ![]() Oh my gosh Jenny, what aOh my gosh Jenny, what a nightmare! How long are you locked into this babysitting thing? Just chilling out after work. I did get to the library, went tanning, and put all laundry away. Figuring out if I have enough energy to wash a couple of windows. Kids both have baseball practices tonite and I have a church meeting, so dinner will be fast food of some sort. I'll make something for myself here before the meeting. See ya! The mom's semester is 2 or 3The mom's semester is 2 or 3 more weeks. But she subs at the school sometimes, too. And usually has me care for him then (about once every other week or so). I'm thankful for when school is out. My biggest problem is this: I don't know how to tell her I don't want to watch him next year. Not only is he REALLY cranky, but his mom is pregnant again! I don't want to deal with ONE anymore, much less TWO of them! BUT his grandparents (all 4 of them, his mom's parents and his dad's!) are friends of ours! Yikes! I mean, sure, I'm not doing anything all day anyway. I don't have a job nor am I going to school. But I don't want to babysit anymore. ![]() Morning! You need to learn how to say no! You are a saint to do it this school year, but that is enough. You are letting people walk all over you if you let it continue. You need to spend your time doing things for you and your family - that is your priority! And you know you are NOT doing nothing - you are helping run your family business plus raising 4 kids. At work now - have several errands after work plus laundry. Not sure about dinner yet - maybe sloppy joes? DD had an argument last night before she went to bed. Mostly my fault - I was just crabby and tired. I feel like we are not spending enough time together, so maybe I can do something with her tonight. Have a good day! Mmm, sloppy joes sound good!Mmm, sloppy joes sound good! Why don't the two of you have a little pedicure/manicure session at home? I think I may run to town. DD8 has a solar system project and I really don't have anything at the house that she can do it with. Also need a couple groceries I forgot on Sunday. And since I'm going halfway to town anyway to visit a friend and her 2 week old baby, I can justify the trip. Boy, after yesterday, I just want to veg today! LOL! update: nevermind on the town trip. Friend has to do something else today, moved to tomorrow. Guess I'll find stuff around the house. Like washing 25 cheer uniforms, folding all that other laundry, decluttering some more, figure out some ideas for the solar system project...) Been in town all day. DHBeen in town all day. DH had some errands to run as well, so we just went together: saw friend's 2 week old baby, had breakfast (then later still in town for lunch! LOL!). Got stuff for DD8's science project, feedstore for feed, grocery store for, uh, feed (people feed. LOL!), hardware store. Saw some spurs I want at Tractor Supply (DH asked if I was trying to kill myself. LOL! He doesn't think my horse needs spurs to get going. But I can't find my old pair, only one). Girls are spending the night at Grammie's, so just me and the boys (and the biggest boy just got called out on an ambulance run: man passed out in tractor). A weekend with no games, no practices. Just sit at home and get some house and yard work done. Should be nice. Good morning!! I got upGood morning!! I got up bright and early (7:30) and mopped the kitchen before the little boys could get up (so there won't be slipping and sliding before it can dry) and moved out an old cheap falling apart chest of drawers to the shed. Big boy had gone on to town to pickup a backhoe so he can dig some waterlines (and fix some 60 year old plumbing out to the corrals, where there is a huge water leak. My arena is getting flooded!). I'm sure his dirtwork will make a mess of my freshly mopped kitchen, but why else do I mop? LOL! In the meantime when I'm not out helping him, I may try to declutter something in my room (my closet is BAD. There is no floor). I so need to declutter stuff. Good Morning! Feels like IGood Morning! Feels like I haven't been here in awhile. I have subbed the last few days and had track meets, and DD's school concert, and her birthday, and on and on and on...LOL Tomorro w we will have her party here at home with family. Everything is pretty much ready except actually cooking the food. House is clean, gifts are wrapped and hidden, paper products and decorations are ready to be set out. Just hope the weather holds out so the kids can play outside. TADA PODA Heidi I bet that subbing checkI bet that subbing check will be nice, Heidi. My DH and the backhoe. Oh, dear. Well, he did get a bit done BEFORE he hit the natural gas line. Yes, I told him to call before he dug, and he did. But then he didn't feel like waiting days for them to come out and mark the lines. So, he estimated where they were and had at it. But his estimate was WRONG (he just kept saying "That line wasn't supposed to BE THERE!!"). I left. Went to inlaws to hang out and pick up the girls (and dropped off one boy). So I didn't get much done yesterday except fixed Pioneer Woman's "Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich" for DH and FIL while they worked. Andrea, they were YUMMY! DH has demanded that go on the regular menu list. I did a mile on the treadmill this morning+ some situps and pushups. Dieting isn't working, I'm going to add the excercise to my routine and see if that helps. In the meantime, it's in the 70's today so I imagine I'll try to work outside as well as inside. ![]() check inHi Guys - We had a FUN opening day of Little League. DD lost her game, but she got a hit so all is well. She had trouble hitting last year so this was nice. DS won his game by one run - very close! I had left at the end b/c I had to soggy girls and it was pouring, but they kept on playing. Looking forward to many more games - i think I might've said - DS has 17 games and DD has 19 - all before the end of June! I might as well pitch a tent in the park and bring a cooler and a camp stove! I actually accomplished a lot today in between events - mopped, bathed dog, vacuumed, sheets, laundry, etc. did a quick Wegmans run - made pesto, salad, and bread for dinner. Now both kiddos are at sleepovers so it is very quiet here - too quiet. See ya later - Post new comment |
