Submitted by jennye on Tue, 12/11/2007 - 7:58am.

Howdy folks!!

Ok, I'm somewhat rested (could have used a couple more hours of sleep). But, kids are off to school, I unloaded the rest of the stuff that we borrowed from the community building for yesterday. Am doing my morning computer time and breakfast.

Today, need to:
*pay bills
*study and take my final exam for biology
*do a couple loads of laundry
*basketball game to cheer at tonight

Doesn't look like much, but that's all I'm going to tackle.

Thanks Jenny, I was just going to do that myself! Good luck on your final!

Well, I am pretty busy tonite after work. Wal-Mart run to pick up DS's birthday gift and possibly a few other Xmas gifts. Pick up something for dinner???? Maybe salmon? Go home and clean the kitchen floor - it is gross! Make dinner. DS has basketball from 6:00 to 8:00 so he won't be eating with us.

See ya!

Other than studying, today is mostly working on Christmas stuff. Cards, making part of my sister's gift, that kind of thing.

I STILL haven't done

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 12/11/2007 - 8:51pm.

I STILL haven't done pictures for our cards yet!! I have to get that done soon!!

I got my final done and took care of the game tonight (both girls and boys one. Girls by a landslide. Boys was actually tied at one point, and got pretty dirty with the shoving and coaches yelling at the ref and such). Guess that other team was still ticked off that we came up from nowhere and beat them in the semifinals in football, when we weren't supposed to.

Feel like another big weight lifted off me with the dinner and finals over. Now I can concentrate on Christmas!

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 12/12/2007 - 7:34am.

Subbing is nice, but nice to have a day off with no children around to get things done and bit of peace and quiet, huh Heidi? I think when Drew starts school in a couple of years (and if DH is no longer on the school board), I'll just sub for a while.

wrapping is my slug, too.

I could have used another 10 hours or so of sleep this morning. LOL! DD8 and I went to the basketball game so we could cheer (DD10 was being such a little wench that I refused to let her go. DH wasn't feeling 100% yet, so he stayed home with her and the boys and I enjoyed a nice quiet evening watching 2 games and coaching 15 girls).

Today I need to go to Big(ger) town and get some Christmas shopping done. DH needs to go up there too, so we will just go together. I'll even let him drive the new truck. LOL!

Submitted by Shaun on Wed, 12/12/2007 - 8:29am.

I'm off to start a really long day:

Library for research, 11-3
Haircuts for kids, 3:30
dinner somehow!
Caroling with church, 6:30
After party with treats, 7:30

That's why I have the sitter making the cookies with the girls! (Peanut blossoms, yum!)

Have I mentioned that our DW has been broken since the day before Thanksgiving. Finally, Friday, someone is coming to fix it. I can't wait. I dislike having to do dishes in the sink, since I can never wash *all* the dishes before filling up the drainer and then some.

I went to Paper Source last night to get stuff for our cards -- Thursday we're off to Sears for photos!

Morning all!! Shaun, how'd

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 8:52am.

Morning all!!

Shaun, how'd it go last night?

WTG on the wrapping, Heidi!!

We got a good deal of shopping done! In fact, other than a couple of little things and candy for stockings, I am done!! Now, DH has to take care of a few things (his dad, BIL, my stepfather). Oh, and I need to find something for my nephew. I was going to work on wrapping, BUT...

I'm babysitting. He's 5 months old, the baby I felt guilty for not watching Monday when I had to set up and feed 100 people. Somehow I need to unload all the gifts out of my expedition and hide them in the house. I have no idea how I'm to accomplish this, because I really don't want to leave DS2 alone with the baby, even though baby is now sleeping in the other room. And of course, DH is out for the day and night. Maybe they both will miraculously take a nap at the same time later. DS2 is feeling a bit jealous right now, though.

I'm working on laundry today. Other bits and pieces around here, too.

I GIVE UP!!!! Every time I

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 12/13/2007 - 10:02am.

I GIVE UP!!!!

Every time I try to do something, it gets all messed up!!!

As good luck would have it, right after I submitted last post, I found DS2 asleep on the sofa. So I hurried and got those presents unloaded. But before I could get them hid, school called and DS5 was throwing up. I was babysitting her grandson, and she didn't want him around DS5, so I had to give the baby up!

I managed to hide the gifts before I picked him up, but WHEN am I going to wrap (ok, I guess next week I'll wrap, while kids are in school. Tuesday probably).

Jo, maybe things will slow

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 12/14/2007 - 7:08am.

Jo, maybe things will slow down with everyone's school in another week, then you can have a break!

I did get laundry done yesterday. Most of the day was spent running between DS2 and DS5, aka the puke monsters. LOL! DD10 came down with it about midnight. She just brought a blanket and pillows into the bathroom and camped out there all night. Boys are still asleep, but they survived the night just fine (couldn't get DS2 to go to sleep!). Now there is just me and DD8. Pray I don't get it.

Today, besides more laundry and puke, I plan on going to town, again. Last day of basketball signups (I only found out Wed. night!!). Tomorrow are tryouts (so another trip to town).
PODA:
*bb signups
*call preacher about church Sunday (my family is supposed to do call to worship and advent candles, but he hasn't confirmed)
*since I'm already out, maybe to bigger town to pick up a part DH had ordered for my truck and get DS2's pictures at Sears
*library
*Can I get the kids to quit puking long enough to take a picture for our cards and get them made today? LOL!
*fuel up
*finish making my baking and grocery list so the puking kids and I can get everything we want for Christmas goodies. Would love to get those made this weekend.
*plan DS5 class Christmas party (need a gift for that, do that today, too)

Just me again? Well,

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 12/14/2007 - 6:12pm.

Just me again? Well, ok!
TADA:
*DD10 still puking. So DH insisted I go to town and shop BY MYSELF!! Cool! Well, he had things I needed to get for him from Santa (BIG things, like a 60gallon air compressor from lowe's and 3 piece tool chest at Sears. Yes, he picked it out, I purchased and picked up). I wish I had planned that better, because once I got that HUGE air compressor in my truck, and tied it down, I was then too big to go thru any drive thrus for lunch, and had to be REAL careful on turns. I then had to take these to inlaws to hide from DH there (even though he knows about them. Don't ask).
*but I did get Walmart for gifts done (but not Walmart for groceries, because that would have been the closer one for later)
*went to rec center for the bb signups and it was CLOSED! Which was really the whole reason I had planned a trip to town!! Sign said I could do them tomorrow before tryouts. Pray me and DD10 and DD8 aren't puking then.

SLUG
*forgot library books
*groceries
*pictures for cards

Always tomorrow, right?

Hi All - How'd ya do Jenny?

Submitted by Andrea on Fri, 12/14/2007 - 6:15pm.

Hi All -
How'd ya do Jenny? Hope tummies are settled down.

Jo, when will you take your Praxis? Is each state's test different?

End of a busy and crazy week for me. I had a fun day on Wednesday and a conference on Thursday with terrible driving conditions home and work today - I feel like I am coming down with something - funny feeling in the throat and just TIRED. Flying? DW emptied, laundry done and put away, dw ran and emptied. That's about it. We went to a spaghetti dinner tonite at the school which was a fundraiser for the 5th grade whale watch. I worked at it for awhile. DS is now at a basketball game -

Tomorrow I hope to shop and get ready for having friends over for dinner. I think I am making black bean enchilads - she is a vegetarian, otherwise I would throw some of our good steaks on the grill!

See ya!

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 7:57am.

Morning!

Andrea, we were on about the same time last night, it seems! LOL!

I managed to get my kitchen cleaned up from the mess that is my husband alone with 4 children. But, he managed to mess it up again just before I went to bed. I haven't done anything to it yet. No time.

Because we are leaving for BB tryouts just as soon as I get off this, throw a face on, and dress the kids. Leaving early, we got a couple inches of snow, and I'm not sure where this place is (old jr. high gym in town. O..k..). I'll be back later.

Like a Freight Train

Submitted by Shaun on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 5:41pm.

That's how we are cruising through this season! It is just blowing by!

But we did get our tree decorated today -- 6 days after setting it up in the tree stand. I really need to clear some time -- and counter space -- for making cookies, and if I don't finish shopping for out-of-towners tomorrow I am in big trouble! Our dishwasher needs a new pump and motor -- just another 7-10 days -- bleah.

But the caroling was fun! We have a new Director of Religious Education, and it was funny because she clearly wanted the "after party" to last about 10 minutes, and the parents were like, "it's a cold night, we shlepped kids and cookies all over town, now we're staying and talking!"

Sorry about all the illness Jenny. That sucks big time. Tis the season I guess.

I will be last-minute wrapping with the rest of you I guess. I was planning to tonight, but first we are watching Order of the Phoenix with DD8. I guess DH couldn't wait a whole 10 days to give it as an Xmas present! Laughing out loud

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 6:41pm.

Shaun, I'm having a hard time holding OTP for Christmas myself!! LOL!

I may be coming down with the bug myself. I sure hope not.

We managed tryouts (roads sure were slick!) and groceries today. I have made fudge and mini pecan pies, but I think that's all I'm going to accomplish tonight.

I have cancelled going to the birthday party tomorrow. Our preacher never confirmed that we would do the advent candle tomorrow morning and the call to worship, and when I spoke to the secretary, she said another name was in the program, so I guess I don't have to worry about that. A day at home tomorrow.

Think I'll go clean the toilets real quick. Always nice to puke into a clean one, don't you think?

At least you got out of church. that is how I am feeling nowadays, bad I know. I am hoping for a lot of snow tomorrow so we won't have to go. Bad, bad, bad! Can you tell I am a preacher's kid? We actually will be getting a lot of snow.

We had a nice dinner party tonite with another family - mom, dad, and their two girls. The older is good friends with DD9.

TADA:

dust mopped
ran dw twice
made black bean enchiladas for dinner - turned out great
made gingerbread cake
laundry done and put away
wrapped a couple more gifts
got stocking stuffers

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 12/16/2007 - 3:41am.

It's 4:30am. I've been up for nearly 2 hours, can't sleep. I've had it coming out both ends (TMI!!), but am trying to keep some applejuice down now. DS2 crawled in bed with me about 2, but was being a real bedhog and grouchy, so I left. I see DH put out the hidabed for the kids, three of them and cat sleeping away.

No, I'm not flying. Just bored and sick and decided to come on here. LOL! And wouldn't you know it: after 4 months, aunt flo stopped in for a visit tonight. joy.

5 days til we leave for our trip! So much to do!! Get the camper all ready, load it with clothes, food, and whatever else we need. Wrap EVERYTHING (no, I haven't even begun that horrible task). Pay BILLS (HAVE to do that today), get account balances on EVERYTHING (dh doing paperwork to renew our operating loan). I have a busy day ahead of me.

Plus, it's our anniversary today. So, what are we doing to celebrate. Going to the school's staff Christmas party. LOL! Don't worry, we won't be out too late. We have to get the kids back home in bed at a decent hour.

Well, DS17 is on a roll. He came in past curfew AGAIN Friday night, and when I went into his room to get the Christmas decorations out of the storage closet I found 13 beers! The kid is in more trouble than he has ever seen, and he is still being a jerk about it. DD7, who knows he's in trouble, but not the details, thinks maybe Santa won't bring him any presents.

Andrea, I think all the Praxis tests are the same, but different states have different passing scores? I'm taking one on Janury 3rd and the other on Jan 12th. Because I am doing a special education certification I have to take two elementary ed tests. That way I'm covered no matter who I end up working with.

Happy Anniversary Jenny!

I know when I was a kid my mom found beer stashed in the attic (which you could access from only from my room), and I was not so good at listening to curfew rules. Do you think I'll have a little karma in a few years? Sad

I can say that I have had a really good adult relationship with my parent, since leaving for college, and I keep my beer in the fridge now. Eye-wink

That is not something I look forward to dealing with as the parent!

Jo, definately drink his

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 12:02pm.

Jo, definately drink his beer!! LOL!
FWIW, my grandparents let me drink when I was with them. Usually just at home. Was kinda a neat tradition: go to Grandma's house, play cards all night, drink a beer or two. And after Saturday night Mass, we would go to Pizza Hut and they would get a pitcher of beer, let us grandkids have a few sips, too.
Funny thing is, once I turned 21, beer seemed to turn disgusting. After one or two sips, I'm done. I prefer sweet drinks or Margaritas now.
Still, I hope my kids don't do some of the things I did. Scary!!

Ok, I went to town first thing this morning and got my hair done. It's all blonde now, no more 2 inches of roots showing. LOL! I got home and spent a good hour getting stuff straightened up (and it's still not great). After all of us being sick, plus out last night and this morning, the house seems to just fall apart. Kitchen mostly done, as is the living room. Load of laundry going.

As soon as UPS brings me one last package, I'm done with my shopping! But I haven't begun to wrap. DS5 wasn't feeling well this morning, so I can't do anything with him here. I'll try to tackle that tomorrow. For now, laundry. Oh, need to get out winter clothes of the girls and find their Christmas dresses from last year (No, I haven't done that yet. They have enough jeans and shirts year round, and I'm trying to cut back on just how many clothes they have without giving any away).

Sorry so late checking in

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 12/20/2007 - 4:13pm.

Sorry so late checking in today. I haven't even had time to turn the computer ON!!

I know, I should delegate. But I just want it done right, and want it done now. Besides, kids are busy studying for finals, and with them in school til 4, there just isn't time for them to do stuff like that this week.

I got most of the list above DONE! Still to do:
*wrap just a couple more presents (4 or 6 I think)
*finish loading camper (all food in, still need to do clothes)
*one more load of laundry (will do after kids are in pjs)
*binding on quilt (attached with machine. Will do hand sewing part on trip)
*make 20 tuna sandwiches for DD10's party
*make 20 ham and cheese sandwiches for DS5's party
*cut up veggees for veggee tray for DD8's party

TADA:
I decided after making 200 or so buckeyes, to screw the cookies.
I got the pickup cleaned out! I mean, cleaned, vacuumed, armor-alled, AND windexed. Well, I didn't wash the outside. But inside it's clean again.

Tonight we are off to inlaws house. They insisted on having a holiday dinner and exchange gifts with them tonight. We won't be out too late, DD10 has 2 finals tomorrow.

Long time no here! We are hanging in there. Alexa and Luke are getting big and keeping me really really busy. Dh working until 930pm so I am trying to keep them busy. We have already watched Jim Carey's The Grinch so much Lucas even knows some parts Smiling

Hope you are all doing well. Jenny, i hope you are feeling better. we had it the week after Thanksgiving. I had Lucas holding my hair for me while I puked! I will never ever eat Chinese food again since that was my last meal before i got it. Alexa had it the night before me so I was up for like 24 hours. I felt so bad for her poor little body. OK sending healthy vibes to everyone!!

Jo, you drinking your son's beer cracked me up! I do not look forward to those days although i have had a glimpse with Dstepson. It is like Jenny said though, he knows I know all the tricks so he doesnt try to pull one over me. Dh is a bit naive so i think Dstepson tries it out on him and I crack up.

Quick waves to eveeryone Smiling

Tada:

~Last toys r us trip to pick up gift for Dniece
~Old Navy for shirt for dsil

~took kids outside to get some fresh air

Holy S . . . omething!

Jenny, you are out of control~

Jackie, glad you are still around.

Heidi, my package total for today is just 2. I dread opening them, because I know most gifts from grandparents are coming upwrapped, so I have to wrap them. Yck!

Just gotta pack up the cookies for a cookie exchange in the morning, and then I am off to bed. We had a sledding party here -- sledding a couple of blocks away, then playing and cocoa here -- so I am wiped. Plus, I stayed out late with girlfriends last night and had a bit too much wine so . . . I'm ready for bed.

Tomorrow:
cookie exchange
get gift for piano teacher
keep cleaning in the kitchen -- how did we make it with no dishwasher all those years?

HI Everyone! Great to see

HI Everyone!

Great to see you Jackie!!

Shaun, your sledding party sounded like fun - what a great idea!!

Jenny, I can't remember for the life of me where you are going! You are cranking on your PODAS!

This week has been busy. Heidi, the concert on Tuesday was DD's school concert - great! Then last nite DD and I went to see "Amahl and the Night Visitors" put on by an opera company from the city. It happened to be at our church. Wow! Very nice. We got to chat with a couple of the actresses afterwards b/c one of DD's brownie friends was in the production.

Today is DS's birthday - 11! Hard to believe - he is prettye xcited. We are doing gifts right when he gets home from school and then going out for dinner - coming back for ice cream cake. Tomorrow? Final grocery shopping and making sure I have enough gifts. Then I hope to do some cleaning so I can relax on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

See ya!

Andrea, that's because I

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 8:25am.

Andrea, that's because I never said where I was going! LOL!

We are surprising my family by driving all the way out to Georgia for Christmas! We are hoping to get there Sunday, but it could be Monday morning (depending on how the kids travel). We have 2 DVD players, but still, driving with 4 kids won't be easy (and we are not traveling all night. I know people swear by it, but no thanks). Taking the camper, so food, toilets, and beds are close by.

Too much to do still! finish loading, make stuff for kids parties today. In fact, no time to be here! Gotta go!! Merry Christmas everyone! I'll try to check in sometime!

We are doing a good job!

Submitted by Shaun on Sun, 12/23/2007 - 5:25pm.

We must be a great support system, Andrea, because you are going strong!

For my part, I am sick -- I got a flu shot, yet this feels like flu! -- and my dishwasher is still broken, so there is no flying here. Tonight I am going to get DH to wrap presents after the girls are in bed.

If I feel better tomorrow I will be making a Polish-style dinner for just the 4 of us -- though I may only eat the Danish rice pudding myself! Oh, and the pierogies are probably OK. But sausage and beans, probably not. Sticking out tongue Tuesday we are going to friends, so if I am up to that, then at least no cooking or cleaning! I have already arranged to pick up a cheesecake at the same place where I get the Polish sausage. (For Christmas, I go to the East European deli whose name I cannot spell, and get the good stuff.)

Merry Christmas to all who are getting ready to celebrate!
