We had a good time, too. Colder than you had it, Andrea. It was about in the 40's, and was 28 when I left for school this morning. Brrr!!! We invaded the base housing and candy was much better this year than the place we went last year (Air Force must be paying their guys too much! LOL!). Then we went to the nursing home for the residents there. To inlaws, then home at about 9:30 (way too late!).

I'm SOOOO far behind on laundry! I will be conquering that mountain today. Girls are spending the night elsewhere (one at inlaws, one with a teacher whose grand daughter started our school this year).

Hello. I'm Jenny, and I'm a SHE.
Hi Jenny

Aren't we SUPPOSED to be in the living room/dining room/entry this week? Well, I attacked the kitchen. Specifically, the fridge. Dug out all sorts of science fair project (so THAT'S where all my Gladware went!!). Got it all dumped, containers cleaned, took out all the shelves. I still may do the freezer part.

But I need to clean up the living room some, because someone is coming by this afternoon.

Good Morning!

Shaun-hope you are having a great time scrapping!

We visited friends yesterday that we hadn't seen in a year. They live about 90 minutes away so we didn't get in til late last night. It was fun talking, playing UNO with all the kids, getting pizza,etc...

Today DD has a bday party at noon and my mom may come over later on and make pumpkin pies with us and stay for dinner. I need to call her and see for sure.

Got our woodburning stove on already, the weather took a nosedive here...brrrrrrr. They are calling for light snow by midweek, yikes!

Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbooking! I'm so

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 11/04/2007 - 7:15am.

Scrapbooking! I'm so jealous! I haven't had a chance to get my stuff out in at least a year. Someday. Hope you got a lot done and had a wonderful time.

Heidi, snow already! Wow! It gets down to freezing here at night, but today highs are back in the low 80's. Makes it difficult to dress. Bundle up to go out, strip as much off as possible in the afternoon. LOL!

We ARE going to church today. LOL! That extra hour of sleep helped, right? Well, no. Chance is really grumpy. But I haven't left the place in two days, I need to get out! And get groceries (since my newly cleaned fridge echos inside now). Swing by inlaws and drop off next 100 pages of book I have proofed. Then get some housework done when we get home. I know blessing is tomorrow, but I like for the girls to learn how to do things. Was going to do it yesterday, but DD10 ended up helping DH with stacking hay (she drove the front end loader for him across the field!). DH is working hauling hay, so I'll have the whole crew by myself today again. Not too bad, except when Drew wants to be a little turd. Too bad none of my kids ever wanted to stay in the nursery...

Submitted by Andrea on Sun, 11/04/2007 - 5:26pm.

Hi Everyone -
Jenny, I am impressed that you even make it to church as much as you do alone with the kids - not easy. I struggle to do it with my 2 - I have been on acolyte duty for almost 2 years now so have had to go every Sunday - it is wearing on me! I recently told the pastor that I am done with that at the end of December so that will give me more flexibility.

Sounds like a nice visit Heidi!

I can't imagine scrapping for a whole weekend! I don't know, I like it, but I don't know if I like it that much!

Mmmm, chili! Sounds warm and cozy!

Well, we made it to church, and Drew was doing fine til the Children's Moment when all the kids go up to the front for a little message just for them. When he saw the others go, he of course wanted to. After that, he decided he should be able to go where he wanted to. LOL! So I took him and DS5 to the nursery. He wouldn't stay by himself, but with his "big bubba" there with him, he did. Was nice to enjoy the rest of the sermon and communion for a change. If we can make a habit of that, I'd be happy. Maybe the DDs could start acolyting again, too.

But not much flying happened around here over the weekend. I'm concentrating on finishing MILs book like crazy. But it's a busy week, too.

I set the timer for 15 minutes. That's all I get on the computer right now. I'm using the timer today, going to get things done! Laundry is going right now (and I can't leave it long, the shut off valve still doesn't work sometimes and I don't want a flooded laundry room (which is connected by master bath, master bed (no, they aren't together), and kitchen.

Didn't get any flying done except dinner and kitchen. LR still looks ok, but my DR and snack bar are covered in the bows and ribbon.

Today I'm going to finish both the above tasks and a load of laundry. And make 2 batches of brownies and 2 loaves of banana bread, both for bake sale tomorrow (which is where I will be). So not much flying today, either. Oh, well.

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 11/08/2007 - 8:07am.

Heidi, how cool that DS gets a bigger bed made by his daddy! What kind of mattress do you get to go with it? I'll probably have that kind of trouble with DS5. He is a head taller than some of the kids in his preschool. In fact, he's really as tall as many of the 1st graders! Well, his daddy is 6'4"...

I FINISHED MIL'S BOOK!!! 550 pages of genealogy research and family stories is done. Also got nearly 2 dozen double layered pew bows made last night. HUGE weight lifted off. But now I need to bake the brownies and get banana bread out of the oven. I was going to do that yesterday but ran out of time. I decided today would be better anyway, who doesn't enjoy WARM brownies and banana bread? They should sell well, don't you think?

Submitted by Shaun on Thu, 11/08/2007 - 6:18pm.

I am having some real work challenges. Argh!

I did have a great scrapping weekend. It might be hard to scrapbook for a whole weekend at home alone, but when you are cracking up and drinking wine with your girlfriends and staying in a motel with maid service and someone else is handling all the food . . . well, that is not so bad! I am so lucky with the fun friends I have. And I *almost* finished the Disney album.

House is scary, but we're having 12 for T.giving so I am trying to do a little every day.

Maybe I just need to fly Jenny out for the weekend -- she is a powerhouse!

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 11/08/2007 - 7:57pm.

I'm so not the powerhouse! I'm such a SHE!

But I did get the kitchen cleaned up after fixing the kids dinner tonight (I figured what the heck, I ate two green chile, bean and cheese burritos at the bake sale, I don't need anything else), the living room is still in one piece. DH is home (for now, though it's 9pm and he is fixing to head to his parents to see his dad off on the annual hunting trip. DH isn't going this year).

So no flying for me today. We will most all be home tomorrow (DH will probably be out and about and may take a kid or two), so hopefully I can accomplish something then. but for tonight, I'm sipping a margarita and relaxin'.

Shaun, I'm so jealous!! A weekend scrapbooking sounds like so much fun! I'm so behind on mine, and it's been so long, I probably don't remember how to do it!! LOL!

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 11/11/2007 - 6:25am.

Andrea, what happened with the groomer!? Have you tried your meat yet?

The only flying I did was flying off the handle. LOL! No, I didn't accomplish anything yesterday. Over the first part of the weekend I did get 4 loads of laundry done, but that's about all. We had a wedding to attend yesterday and nearly didn't make it. DH decided to fix a water leak between the house and the corrals, which meant digging 3 feet deep to FIND the sucker. Then he didn't have all he needed to fix the leak (because he had no idea what kind of pipe he was dealing with in that area, because the old man that built this place didn't use the same thing anywhere!), had to run to the hardware store. He finally got water restored in time to barely take a shower and throw some makeup on. (then it was the shortest dang wedding I ever so! Vows, and that was it. No rings, no unity candle. In fact, the ONLY decoration in the church was the 19 bows I had made. That's IT!). But DH took us out to eat afterwards and rented some movies.

I have to clean the house a bit this morning. DH wants to invite MIL for dinner (since all the guys are off deerhunting for a week. My hubby was the only one that didn't go. He said he just wanted to be home with us for a while). So need to make it presentable, and fix something good for dinner. I'm thinkin' homemade pizza.

Submitted by Andrea on Sun, 11/11/2007 - 6:57pm.

Hi Everyone -

Your poor puppy Heidi, I am so sorry. I have not tried trimming our dog - Petsmart did it today and it turned out really well - fairly reasonable and they were nice to me unlike the rude lady from the other place. Unfortunately it took much longer than I expected.

Hey Jenny - what a wedding! Hope they are happy. We did pick up our meat yesterday and tried a pot roast tonite in the crockpot. It looked a little different but was actually delicious! I am looking forward to trying all of the other cuts in our freezer. The farm was smaller than I expected but looked really nice. They have beef cows, chicken, and pigs, no dairy. The couple met us out in the barn and loaded our van up with the meat from the freezer.

RE: the wedding. Don't know if they are happy or not. She is 17 and pregnant, wasn't sure during the ceremony if she was going to faint, giggle, or puke. She is a senior, so I guess the "honeymoon" is over, back to school today. LOL!

I got the kids to clean the living room yesterday before MIL came over. She helped me clean the kitchen after dinner. Today I have desk chores, then town stuff. I HAVE to get some groceries, the fridge echos in there. DH is following me, need to take the suburban in for some work (window won't roll down, service engine soon light, service 4WD light sometimes, and the horn keeps blowing fuses), then we have to go pick the semi truck up from the other shop. Will be a big month for service bills.

So town stuff will be tomorrow more than likely (unless the semi is ready, then I guess it's two trips to town, today and tomorrow). That's ok, I guess. Gives me time to do the desk stuff today and figure out food/grocery list. Oh, but a friend over for dinner tonight. What can I fix them...

I am getting into Tgiving countdown mode: how to make a delicious meal and fool everyone into thinking your house is clean in 10 days or less (all while working and homeschooling!)

Andrea, that is cool about going to the farm/ranch for meat. I would like to do that too -- we have the freezer for it!

Howdy, folks!

Jo, good to hear from you as you speed thru! LOL! Sorry it's so busy, and so many papers!! Hang in there!

We have been in town all day. Dropped the suburban off. We are looking at $450 just to fix the WINDOW (it won't roll down). Of course, the check engine light that has been on for a month or two suddenly won't come on, same with the service 4WD light, and computer shows no codes recorded that it was ever on! DH complained about a vibration in the front, and upon tearing it down they found other things wrong. Worse case scenerio is that will be $1,200!! Ouch! After it's fixed, I'm debating on getting rid of it, or since it will be paid off in a few months just saving it for the kids to have when they get driving age (it's a 2000 model).

Lots of other errands done, too. Will probably have to be back in town tomorrow to help pick up the semi (that wasn't ready today).

I have a biology test to study for and take before midnight tonight. DD10 is pissed at me. DH is getting ready for a meeting (again). Doesn't slow down, does it?

Jenny-my horn wasn't working

Submitted by heidic on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 1:37am.

Jenny-my horn wasn't working and my check engine light was on too awhile back and it was a recalled item that was installed for free. Check first to see if it is on the recall list. They may just be trying to make some money off of you for repairs that may be covered. Ask someone else other than the dealership to look it up. Or maybe there is a website you could look it up on??? Good luck!

Heidi

jennye's picture

Thanks Heidi. I don't think

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 7:12am.

Thanks Heidi. I don't think the dealership is trying to screw us. For one, the owner and sales manager ushered us into the service area after we chatted with them for a while (about an unrelated matter: DH was getting a quote on a new suburban on a grant for the fire department). I also used to work for the place under the previous owner, and many of the same people are there, including the service guys. DH was right there with me, and most people don't try to pull one over on a 6'4" 300 pound farmer, he looks pretty intimidating. LOL! We told them to check for recalls, too. We got all the bases covered I think. You can't FART in this town without everyone knowing that you did, plus your genealogy behind it. LOL!

However, don't buy Chevy's. I've had my current Ford for 5 years and the only thing that it has ever been in the shop for other than an oil change is the key fobs didn't work and drivers side window. The one I had before it had only been in one time to put in new glow plugs, and we had it for 8 years. I may sell the suburban after all, and get DD a FORD! She actually has her heart set on a mustang anyway.

Well, enough shop talk. LOL!!

I've decided to give the boys their bunk beds back. I seperated them months ago to make 2 twins when I moved the unslept in crib out, hoping that having a "big boy" bed would entice Drew to sleep in it. It didn't work. The boys have no room to play in there, so back to bunks. That's what I'll be doing today: the boys room.

jennye's picture

Guess it's just me again.

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 11/15/2007 - 7:37am.

Guess it's just me again. LOL!

Got the boys room DONE yesterday. It took some time and muscle to single handedly put that bed back on top of the other one without taking the whole thing apart. I was lazy and didn't want to find my tools. LOL! But I did it. And got the rest of the room fairly clean. Now, I'm not saying it doesn't need to be decluttered, especially the packed full toy box. But, it looks tons better!

Also caught up on the laundry. Tuesday night I thru in the towel on the laundry and as the girls were asking for more of who-knows-what, I just dropped the basket and said "Here, YOU fold it!". It was a very full basket of whites, too. hehehe. They did their best I'm sure, but so far I have found 3 pairs of socks that weren't matches.

And mark it down again: I cooked AND cleaned the kitchen completely after dinner yet again! Whoohooo!!

I'm thinking I may treat myself to some scrapbooking this morning. Gotta pep rally at the school this afternoon (my elem. squad is going to cheer at it. We made the state semifinals in football. COOL!!! Too bad the game is 9 hours away on the other side of the state). Then we will probably go on the hayride/bonfire this evening. Hope it ain't too cold. It got down to 21 last night. Brrrr!!!

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 11/15/2007 - 3:51pm.

Ok, Jo. It's a deal!! I actually love cleaning other people's kitchens. LOL! Back in high school we would have all night party's at a friend's house who lived with her sister (imagine lots of drunk people passed out all over the living room. I woke up under the Christmas tree one time). I was always the first one up cleaning the kitchen. Did that after another such party at my boyfriend's house, too (his single father was a real slob, but a rich slob. Cleaning lady came in once a week. She wouldn't be there for a few more days, I took care of it after a very wild party). Yup, I was wild and crazy back in those days....

Sorry you ticked the hubby off. I'd have done the same thing.

I got no scrapbooking done. Because of course, plans changed. I forgot to give the kids bake sale money (football players had a bake sale), and I heard only one parent was coming to help with it. So, I got my rear over there and worked the bake sale. Then we had pep rally. Tonight is hayride and bonfire, so dinner is taken care of (free hot dogs and hot chocolate). Will be chilly, so bundling up!

Hey Everyone-
Great to see you Jo! Hope DH is better soon -

Hi Heidi - have you been subbing quite a bit?

Hey Jenny - quite the wild childhood you had there!

Well, I've got abouat 15 things on my mind - the next few days are super busy. Puppy is getting fixed, play tonite, birthday party tomorrow which I am so not ready for, plus DH is going through some real crap at work so he is down -

Catch ya later - I've go to take on the day, starting with a shower -

Yay, Heidi and Andrea are here! LOL!

The hayride was a bit chilly. I wasn't on it, but DD10 was (being the big middle schooler that she is. LOL!). But the thermometer on my pickup said 40. Cold enough, I say. The bonfire felt good.

Well, I need to spend today catching up on the house. Amazing how trashed it gets when just one day I don't tend to it. I will have to run DH to town later to pick up the semi. My suburban will be ready, too, but will have to get that one another day. Probably tomorrow if the place is open on Saturday. I made an appt. to get family portraits done (we just had Olan Mills do it for the church directory, but they want way too much to buy enough of them. I got a 2.99 coupon at Sears). I'll probably go back next week and have DS2s done by himself, too.

I should really scrapbook some. I collect pictures then never do anything with them. LOL!

I'm going to quit coming on

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 11/17/2007 - 11:56am.

I'm going to quit coming on here. Everytime I say I'm going to do something, it never pans out. I didn't do any scrapbooking, but opted instead to work on a quilt I'm giving as a gift. I did get the living room cleaned up, but then these imps I call children wrecked it out again. We ended up squeezing in both trips to pick up the semi and my Suburban (since the dealership is closed on Sat and Sun).

For today, I'm listening to the football game on the radio (state semifinals!! Go Broncos!!), but we are down 30 points. Still, we were like that last week in the quarterfinals, so all hope is not lost. Wish we could be there, but it's a 9 hour drive, so I don't think so! LOL! Then we are having the pictures done today. Just got done curling all the girls hair, including mine, and ironing all shirts. Eating at Chili's for dinner, with our gift certificate the bank gave us the other day.

Hi All - Well, the party

Submitted by Andrea on Sat, 11/17/2007 - 3:32pm.

Hi All -
Well, the party went really well! It was a puppy party theme - we did paint your own t-shirts, hunt for the dog bones, pin the tail on the dog, and a bone pinata. Plus cake and ice cream and presents of course. Filled up 2 hours quite nicely. We had 9 girls including Lydia. I spent all am shopping for last minute stuff and decorating. Mom made the cakes yesterday. I will post a few photos when I get a chance.

Now just enjoying a fire and cooking dinner - burgers on the grill. We are trying our local beef again.

PODA tomorrow:

laundry
sheets on one bed

Jenny, don't worry as long as you get something done! Heidi, it is great to have a day off like that now and again. I could really use one!

Andrea, that party sounds so cool! Sounds like all had a good time, I look forward to the photos.

Heidi, thanks, I should do just that: plan the opposite! LOL!

But I'm a list person, so let's give it another try. haha!

Drew was a little turd for the pictures yesterday. Got a few of the family and 2 of just the kids when he decided he had had ENOUGH. So, we dealt with what we got. I still ended up buying 24 sheets, didn't get any of the fancy things they always try to sell you. Yes, they are very cute collections, but I'm just not going to spend $100+ per collage. I feel bad, the gal spent alot of time putting them together. But I stuck to my guns.

I had all plans on going to church today. But last night DH guilted me into just staying home and he would, too (instead of hauling hay). When I got up this morning discovered he had left and decided to haul hay afterall, and by then it was too late to get us out the door for church. grrrrr...

Tomorrow is Drew's 2nd birthday. In-laws are coming over and the house is a mess. I'll be gone all day tomorrow helping with the school and firestation with Fire Safety for the whole elementary. So we better get it done today. At least the kids are helping me.

Wow, Heidi! A six day break! cool!! We just get 5 here (Wed-Sunday, back to school on Monday). All that sub money will be nice for Christmas, won't it?!

Our plans on TG are get up early and go to Lubbock to my SILs. I'm making an apple pie, pecan pie, and Paula Deens Twice-Baked Potato Caserole. I would LOVE to watch the Macy's Parade, but SILs DH is king of the remote and it will be on Trick my Truck or American Chopper or something that has to do with cars, trucks or racing. The kids can't even watch cartoons. LOL! Then we will stuff ourselves, watch my SILs bitchy MIL complain, then eat and run because 6 kids will drive her nuts (which is why she only had one child). We will talk about her some, then all the grownups will take a nap sprawled all over the living room while me and SIL end up being the ones watching all the kids. And then 2 hours back home again.

I DID get stuff done yesterday, and you can still tell today! Bathrooms cleaned, kitchen cleaned and mopped, LR/DR vacuumed and dusted. Got Drew's birthday cake made and frosted and ready to go.

Will be gone today. Helping the fire station with fire safety today for the elementary school today. Will have a smoke house (for the kids to practice what to do if you smell smoke, how to get out, what the fireman will look like when it comes in to rescue you so you won't be scared), DH will be running the Sparky the Dog robot thingie, video, snacks and drinks. Then back home to fix dinner for the inlaws for Drew's BD (I'm thinking burgers and hot dogs and mac and cheese, Drew's favorite).

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 11/19/2007 - 10:27am.

Actually, no. There is no resentment. SIL's MIL pisses me off, but always takes the rudeness of someone else to make you realize how great your own family is. We will have fun running her down in the mud afterwards. LOL! yes, we are evil. Well, that's what she gets for being the way she is. She didn't even bother coming to her grandson's birthday party this year (he and Chance were born 6 days apart, so we always have had a big party for them together). And at the same party last year, she made my nephew open his presents from her, then left before the cake and ice cream. Didn't even give Chance so much as a card. Last year TG, she left early to have TG at her sister's (who was invited to ours, but decided TG alone with her husband would be better?). It's not like we don't know the lady, she grew up here all her life, went to school w/ FIL here, and we used to farm some land for her. She's just...wierd now.

Drew's birthday is TODAY (19th). Happy birthday to your DD, Andrea!!

I helped out with the preschool at fire safety, but decided they have enough help today, and Drew was getting restless. So we came home. Time for me to maybe do my biology that's due tomorrow. Part of it, anyway.

Last night was nice. Inlaws over, made speghetti and homemade buns. I may have a piece of cake for breakfast. LOL! Drew was so happy playing with his toys (a Tonka Truck and a new Thomas train) that he wouldn't leave to eat any cake!

Today will mostly be spent out. DD10 has a class play she wants me to come see at 10. Then I need to run to the grocery store (we are out of milk and bread, and I have almost nothing to make my TG stuff with), library, and fire station in town (good friend's birthday. I'm going to take him a milkshake or something). Drop off 4-H forms at the extension office (3 kids in it this year. Chance is a cloverbud). After school I gotta help DH move machinery back to the house from the field. And get my biology stuff done today. At least I don't have to run to big town.

Oh, how things change in New Mexico. Past few days have been in the 80's. Thursday-Saturday the high is in the 30's, lows in the teens, and with good chances of snow. LOL! Looks like today is the last day of fall.

Heidi, glad the pooch is doing ok.

Andrea, Enchanted is a new Disney movie. Looks like it starts out as your typical cartoon fairytale, then somehow the gal and prince charming end up as real life characters in present day real life NYC. Previews looked really funny (of course, we probably won't see it until it's on video).

It got up to 82 yesterday. Nice balmy weather, thousands of wasps out, etc. Right now it's 35, with a wind chill of 21 (only gusting to 30MPH). Yup, front hit us. LOL!

I have LOTS to do today, and not much of it is flying. Sure, gotta pick up the living room and do laundry and routines. In addition to that:
*make my three items for TG (2 pies, one casserole)
*clean out the fireplace
*chop down those 8 foot tall weeds that grew up around my wood pile and find some firewood. Bring it up to the house so we can have a cozy fire this weekend when the snow hits.
*pack up some clothes to take to SILs, just in case the weather turns really bad and we have to stay the night there or we end up just wanting to stay over anyway (hope not. Her house is pretty small. Us and my inlaws make 12 there).

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

One thing I'm thankful for: that Thanksgiving wasn't at MY house this year. LOL! My kitchen sink is stopped up AGAIN, and it so darn cold and snowing again, and the roto-rooter broke, I don't think it is getting fixed anytime soon. LOL! I would have hated to clean up the meal in my bathroom sink. haha.

It appears I'm not getting sick afterall. My throat had been hurting on Wednesday night, but it must have just been from yelling at children and working outside in the windy weather.

The girls are supposed to spend the night at MILs. The Suburban appears to have not been fixed, it's still vibrating in the front end and the service 4wd light came on again. It was a pleasent ride to Lubbock with DH (NOT!). So, we may end up going to town afterall, IF the service dept is open. In other words, all plans today are up in the air, and I can't plan a darn thing. LOL!

My parents leave for the winter tomorrow. They were both music teachers, and ever since they retired 4 years ago, they have spent the winter following the bluegrass circuit in their camper. Mom plays the mandolin and Dad the acoustic bass guitar, and they both sing. They'll be gone until May, and I really miss them! They are coming over for dinner tonight to say goodbye. Sad

I just have to brag a bit...DS17 got his SAT scores yesterday (online) and he did very well! He was in the 90th percentile of the nation for math, the 84th for writing, and the 70th for critical reading. I had to laugh at the reading score because he has always HATED reading fiction. He reads to get information, and that's it. So, for him to even do that well on the reading section meant he was at least trying, which is rare for him lately. He was also very proud of himself and excited, which is rare lately, cause he's just too cool for that. His comment was, "Well, I have the SAT scores to get into any college, too bad I didn't do the dumb work to keep my grades up too." Guess he's realizing he kind of shot himself in the foot by refusing to do work he considered boring or for teachers he doesn't respect. His guidance counselor told me, "I just don't get him-he has all 100s and 0s for grades, nothing in between." Yup. That's my boy...

Heidi, I'm glad the dog is OK.

Shaun, all sickness is hereby banished from your home for the winter! By order of Witchiepoo the all-powerful immune system godess!

Hope your sink is fixed soon Jenny - that has got to make life hard.

WE had a nice turkey day - pretty low key. I was still pooped from all the cooking. The dinner turned out great though - I made Shaun's triple berry sauce - highly recommend this! My Mom did a butternut squash recipe with blue cheese and pecans - yum!! The turkey was extra good too. Speaking of food, Jenny, I would love that enchilada recipe - like soon!

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 11/23/2007 - 4:52pm.

My enchiladas have no recipe. Just spray a dish with Pam, throw a bunch of corn tortillas on the bottom, throw a bunch of turkey (or ground beef, or whatever) on top of that. Put a couple handfuls of grated cheese (I use Walmart's fiesta blend), another layer of tortillas, a can of medium enchilada sauce, and more cheese. Bake it for a while.

Heidi, your poor puppy! Hope this cures it.

Flying. HA! I did NOTHING. Well, we got the sink running a little bit (took two hours of boiling pots continously of hot water and pouring them down the sink and a plunger). It's still slow, but it drains. Got the kitchen cleaned up. And spent the rest of the day lounging with the kids, quilting, and watching Americas funniest home videos. Got a fire going in the fire place while DH took the girls to the inlaws. Promised DS5 we can roast some hot dogs over the fire.

Saturday Night Fever comes on tonight. DH wants DS5 to see it (because he likes to dance like that). We will pop some popcorn and I believe I will have some Margaritas. K?

Andrea, that butternut squash sounds fantastic, yum. DS is going to major in criminal justice with an emphasis on digital forensics. There are two private universities not too far away that both have very well respected, cutting-edge programs. He hasn't decided which one is his first choice yet, but I suspect he'll end up in the "big city" of Burlington. The other school is really out in the middle of nowhere, and is a military college, and he pointed out that the potential lack of females was troubling... I don't know about that kid.

Heidi, my DH's family could be described as chaotic too. Eye-wink Although we both come from big families (three sisters and a brother each), my family is pretty quiet and his is very boisterous. It's always fun to be with either family though. Sometimes I wish I had more kids. Emphasis on the sometimes.

OK, off to type and sling the BS again...

Heidi, is ELF good? We watched our annual National Lampoons Christmas Vacation last night. The holidays have officially begun here! LOL!

I got 3 loads of laundry, kitchen clean, and had the living room picked up (but then, kids happened), and kept the fire going. We were supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow, but, uh, didn't. Amazing how WRONG forecasters can be. The two days we had 30% chances, we got an inch. the day we had a 100% chance, nada. LOL!

We are all going to church this morning (even DH!), get a couple groceries maybe. Usually if DH is with us, it means lunch too. I need to finish up laundry this afternoon, and have the kids help with livingroom (again).

Howdy

Submitted by Shaun on Sun, 11/25/2007 - 3:02pm.

I've been working this afternoon while Gma and Gpa are playing with the girls, but I think I need to get back and help out. Just peeking in to say hi. I may or may not be getting better (I might consider going to the doctor, but I'm actually going to try getting some exercise to help expel the gunk from my lungs), but now DH is in bed sick! Argh!

Hope all of you are having a good weekend!

No one "Flew" yesterday,

No one "Flew" yesterday, huh? LOL! Well, I didn't either.

In fact, spent the whole day out shopping with DH. Car shopping (well, SUV, but that is a car to me). Found one we liked, crunched the numbers, then came home to think about it. And we decided to forget it for now. Mainly because they weren't going to give us squat for our tradein. So, we will wait. At least we found out that if we do get another Suburban type vehicle, it WILL NOT be a GM product. The Ford version rides much more like a truck, which I like.

Anyway, that took all day. Today I need to work on some decluttering and laundry. But most of all some desk stuff. Talked to the accountant yesterday and we need to come in for our end-of-the-year planning this week. Gotta work on Quicken and get that all ready for him, plus some other things for him.
