Submitted by jennye on Mon, 08/27/2007 - 6:15am.

Good morning!

I worked on my room most all day yesterday: got old entertainment center cleared off and out, new in, moved stuff in it, cleaned out old chest of drawers that were falling apart (cheapie set) and moved old stuff to the garage. My room was a wreck, some toys on the floor, other things, too. And dresser and other surfaces are still covered in stuff. I need to do more decluttering. I did throw away some undies and bras that were too holey.

BUT, today I have to run to town. Movies need to go back, and I have to get some diapers, milk, and bread, and cokes. And deposit some money. Ya'll have a good 'un!

Cleaning for in-laws

Submitted by Shaun on Mon, 08/27/2007 - 8:15am.

I expect my in-laws to visit at some point today, so I've been trying to get the kids to help me pick up. Got toys put away, dusting done, vaccuuming mostly done, stovetop scrubbed (still looks awful), cupboard fronts swiped (still need help!) stove front and DW front Windexed -- hey, that list actually looks pretty good! Also decluttered magazine pile.

Kids are playing really well together, so I'm letting them keep at that while I take a break.

Next up: *really* quick bathroom cleanup and then vaccuum the dining room.

Impressive job, Jenny. I have been known to "help along" holes in DHs underwear and t-shirts to get them where he'll toss them!

Hi Everyone - Hi Jo - thanks

Submitted by Andrea on Mon, 08/27/2007 - 5:13pm.

Hi Everyone -
Hi Jo - thanks for the salad ideas - yum! I made it twice already!

Jenny, you are amazing with all the shuffling around. And I can't believe you are a size 7 to boot! Yes I am jealous.

I worked this am, which was ok. Busy. But I liked it. I am blessed to work with great people in a job I really like. The rest of the day I was very crabby with my kids unfortunately. I think it is the stress of a lot of stuff happening in a short period of time here - back to school for DH today, the kids and I next week, the new puppy and carpet cleanup, trying to focus on summer projects I haven't finished, plus the biggie - tomorrow's appointment to check out DD8's "spots". It is at 11:00. I will be glad when it is over. They also want to check me and DS10! We are fortunate to have such great medical care closeby, but I am not looking forward to it. We are rewarding ourselves with lunch and a bit of shopping when it is done!

See ya-

Thank goodness for company

Submitted by Shaun on Tue, 08/28/2007 - 4:38am.

At least our house is cleaner!

Today I just need to keep it up, plus do some prep for dinner -- trim the beans, boil potatoes for salad. I'm making the lemon chicken from the Silver Palate cookbook too -- yummy! Then freelance work in the afternoon. Depending on the weather this morning, I'll either walk with the kids to the park or slavedrive them in the basement play area to pick up toys!

Hope the appt. goes well tomorrow Andrea!

Good luck today,

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 08/28/2007 - 6:50am.

Good luck today, Andrea!

Shaun, nothing like company clean! LOL!

Jo, I hear you on the multiple forms! If they all weren't color coded paper here, I'd just fill out the parts that were the same, run them thru the copier, then fill out the names and birthdates. LOL!

Did town yesterday, DH even asked if we could have some breakfast together (huevos rancheros. yummy!!). When I got home, I fixed dinner for a friends daughter who recently had a baby (stuffed shells, brownies, salad and bread) and took that and my old changing table to her inlaws house for her. And I maintained my routines. Didn't do home blessing, but maybe today.

Have laundry going now, MR is done. I will have to help DH some today moving tractor w/ baler to field 15 miles away. I COULD make him walk, haha, but guess I won't. LOL!

Also need to work on my homework this week. I started my Biology class online this week. I have a test due Monday, but we leave Friday morning to go camping, so I need to get busy studying on it and take it.

Have a good one!

I didn't realize you were doing classes too! Good for you girl!

Andrea, I made the salad on Saturday, but I didn't have any onions. I did have some shallots, but instead of carmelizing, I fried them up crispy. Yum! I just love that dressing. Hope all goes well today, I'll be thinking good thoughts for you all. I'm sure it will be fine.

Shaun, company always spurs me to crisis clean, and I always love the results too.

TADA
nagged DH enough he changed the belts on the washer and dryer. Now they both work effectively! Yowza.

PODA

Rough around the edges

Submitted by Shaun on Tue, 08/28/2007 - 1:04pm.

The thing about company clean is that things like putting away the laundry start to back up.

But I am trying to keep the kitchen functional, since we're feeding a lot of people.

Ended up being a bit lazy this am -- neighbors called to invite the girls over to run through the sprinker, and then they made nachos. Well, who can resist that?

Kids, DH, in-laws are all out at the mall and I am working -- though taking an Internet break right now!!

I guess I should get back to it before I have to start the chicken -- pan fry, then bake for 50 minutes. But the potato salad is made and the beans are trimmed -- the beans don't look so hot, however, so I think I'll get someone to chop up a cantelope to make up for it.

Back to work!

Was busy cleaning the camper

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 08/29/2007 - 10:42am.

Was busy cleaning the camper this morning. A rat had moved in, and while it couldn't get farther than the lower kitchen cabinets, it made quite a mess. Ugh! Everything bleached and clean now. Ready to start loading it up for the weekend! Also got a flower bed weeded. Dug up and replanted a shrub I didn't like where it was.

Going to attempt a couple loads of laundry. Need to find some tiki torch stands for the cheerleaders to use for our athletic bonfire tomorrow (I have them, I know where they are. Now, just getting to them. They are out by the calf barn buried in 7 foot tall weeds. Pray I don't find any rattlesnakes!).

Other than that, I'm being lazy. Think I'll go fix some BLTs since I picked a couple of tomatoes this morning. Yummy!

Shaun's picture

Rattlesnakes!

Submitted by Shaun on Wed, 08/29/2007 - 6:11pm.

Yes, I think we all fervently hope that you will not run into rattlesnakes.

Fun time at the fair today -- we have a "miracle of life" barn with lots of preggo animals. Saw many newborns, plus as we were leaving a sow gave birth to 3 piglets (I assume there were more, but we left, as we had been there for some time.) Pretty cool for the kids! We also hit the "Creative Activities" building -- lots of very nice crafts.

Gotta do lots of online shopping tonight so I'm ready for a few more days of in-laws! We are having a nice visit but a lot of "life" gets squished around the edges of the days.

Hi Everyone -
I had a nice long post yesterday that was being censored for some reason! It never showed up!

Not sure what is happening today - DS has a friend over later. I will try to do some regular routines I guess and maybe some scrapping.

The appointment with the Dr. was inconclusive - we need to see an eye Dr. next to get more information. The Dr. did say that DD's "spots" are very suspicious though Sad

I think someone on your IP address (which may be shared) or your provider has been flagged as a spammer. I'm using a new spam module now and it's flagging you repeatedly just like the old one did. There is NOTHING about your content that would trigger it, so it's something else, something beyond both of our control. I just make sure I go through the spam filter several times a day now.

Shaun, wouldn't you hate to

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 08/30/2007 - 6:26am.

Shaun, wouldn't you hate to be one of those animals? Hey, I'm giving birth, let's let everyone watch. LOL! Sounds like it was really neat and educational. I remember watching one of our horses giving birth. I stayed up all night, was pretty cool. It was her first, and she had problems for a few days nursing. I had to milk the horse and bottle feed the foal til she could get the hang of it. The mother didn't like my stepmother hanging around, bit her right on the boob, left a huge bruise (LOL!!!!!). But she loved me.

No rattlesnakes found. Thank goodness. LOL! Got the tiki torch stands delivered.

Today I need to work on packing the camper. Working on laundry now (didn't do any yesterday), got most the food that I already have loaded up. Need to run to Walmart in town and buy the rest. Also stop by the sporting goods place on the square and pick a design for the cheerleader T-shirts, we have camp next weekend.

Tonight is hayride and bonfire for the athletes. Then we leave bright and early in the morning, want to be out of here by 7am.

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 09/04/2007 - 6:22am.

Back. Went camping. Got in last night. Rained Friday and Saturday, but nice Sunday and yesterday. After a rain, Dnephew looked at DS4 and said "It's mud time". LOL!

I managed to get the camper unloaded last night. Need to vacuum, mop, and clean the bathroom out there. But today I need to run up to C-town and find birthday stuff. Chance will be 5 on Friday, D-nephew next week, and we are having a big party for them both at my house on Saturday afternoon (that's after I have cheer camp all morning. Sheesh!).

TOO much disease and death this year

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 09/05/2007 - 5:54am.

Yay for babysteps! Way to go, Lynn!

Becky, sorry for the sad news. Glad at least the baby is treatable.

Well, remember what I said I was going to do yesterday? Move all that to today. Stuff came up. DH had needed me to help him move machinery, so I waited around for his call. He didn't call til NOON to let me know his daddy was going to help instead. Which shot my entire day! If I left at noon, that would put me in C-town at 1, and give me two hours to do all my errands AND groceries and still be back here at 4 to pick up kids. So, I did my homework instead, took a quiz, maintained, played with Drew. Didn't do much, in other words.

I'm just pissed now. I need to make a guest list for the party this weekend, grocery list, a few phone calls. Then will head to town.

Oh, and the guy putting my new doors and windows to turn my garage into a living area delivered the doors yesterday! He also did some concrete work, and will be back this morning to actually install the doors. whoohoo!!! He will try to get the trim work done later, but my doors will be in! No more mice getting in (or rattlesnakes!!).

Speaking of rattlesnake, someone caught one this weekend while we were camping and cooked it. Tasted pretty good, actually. Not enough for me to go around shooting them for dinner, but you know, if worse came to worse, I could manage to feed myself and my family. LOL!

Some say it tastes like

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 09/05/2007 - 1:36pm.

Some say it tastes like chicken. But I'm thinking more like quail. Sorry it grossed you out, Andrea. LOL!

I'm home after a crazy trip to town. Would you believe that everyone was sold out of the Cars kits for birthday cakes? Well, the lone store in P-ville that has a bakery had one kit. I told her I needed two cakes. She got biligerent with me. I said, "What about PowerRangers" and she said, those are old, we don't do anything old. Ok, if they are so old, why are they always coming out with new ones? She got huffy, I told her I'll just go elsewhere. I may even call the manager there and complain. Anyway, Walmart in C-town, they didn't have any either! But the sweet lady told me that if I can find something in the toy department to go on it, she can still make the rest of the cake. She even knocked off a few bucks from each cake. Problem solved, just need to get DH or SIL to go up there to pick them up Saturday.

Anyway, got PS2 games (one for each boy), a big PowerRanger Robot for Chance, stuff to make his cupcakes for school tomorrow, tons of plates and other Cars themed stuff for the party. Couldn't find a Cars pinata. See if SIL can find one. Or get a PowerRanger one at Walmart.

Kids will be home soon. DH is getting them. Need to hide the stuff real quick!

Sounds like a great plan Jenny! You should call the management of that place - ridiculous! At least WM has some basic customer service training -
As far as the snake meat - I have eaten frog legs once - in a roadhouse type place in the hill country of Texas near San Antonio - it was good! So I'm guessing snake meat would be similar -

Back to work for two days for me - it is going well, but I definitely need to get into my routines!

Next two days will be spent

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 09/06/2007 - 6:02am.

Next two days will be spent CLEANING!! Yeah, if I did flylady properly, I wouldn't be so worried about it. Stuff happens. things get kicked under the sofa. DH doens't know how to pick up dishes and glasses next to his recliner, now does he know how or where to throw away trash and wrappers that are also piled around his recliner. Carpets needs some spot shampooing in a few rooms. I cannot vacuum the boys' room or the office right now. And falling behind on the laundry.

At least the cupcakes are made and frosted. I'll take a break later today to run those to the school (DH took the kids this morning in the semi truck. No way was I going to send cupcakes with that lot!).

Meeting at the school tonight for preschool and Kindergarten parents. While I'm there, DH and both DD's have a meeting at the fire department (yes, both girls, ages 8 and 10, are members of the volunteer fire department. Youngest members at that. Right now they use them to wash the trucks. But they still get to attend the meetings). AND it's Chance's Birthday. Happy birthday my 5 year old baby boy! Sorry no one will be around for a big birthday dinner. Which is why I'm madly cleaning so I can have 40 of our closest friends over on Saturday for you! LOL!

Oh, Becky, I hear ya, sister!

In my case, it's the interruption of homeschooling with the need to Find Something Immediately! LOL!

Fortunately, I don't have to look (or listen) too hard for a reality check. DH's buds are headed back to Iraq this week, and he isn't. There has been a steady stream of DC-10's flying over our house. Please say a prayer, or light a candle, or think positive thoughts for the 1st Brigade of the 10th Mountain Division, who are returning to Iraq after only 13 months back in the USA.

This has been a great day. We took a nice little day trip, and then this afternoon, I planted Icicle pansies and tulip bulbs in my front flower beds. I found a few more cucumbers in the veggie garden, and my sunflowers have finally bloomed.

Hope everyone is well, and happy!

A day of rest here. I

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 09/09/2007 - 8:47am.

A day of rest here. I ditched church to recoop from yesterday.

Yesterday morning the girls and I had cheer camp from 8am-1pm. Then came home to finish picking up house (it's no use cleaning it ahead of time, the kids are just going to mess it up before the party), start cooking stuff and had 40 people (12 kids) over here for party/dinner/cake and ice cream. We had a pinata (was a heavy one! took a while to bust it open). We had most of it outside, but a huge thunderstorm came in, so everyone moved it inside. But we managed to clear out 6 of the guys when the lightning started a grass fire and they took off to fight it. LOL! It was fun night though.

I got the kitchen kinda picked up last night, but will do a better job today. Just dealing with the aftermath today, but staying home. Work on some homework, call my mommy. Stuff.

We all have colds

Submitted by Becky on Sun, 09/09/2007 - 4:24pm.

I was going to fix some stuff for our friends whose son has cancer, but they have understandably asked everybody to avoid them if they have a cold since the boy is immune suppressed. So that will have to wait. Meanwhile DH has been working on some of his stuff that I got for him Right Now and DS has been working on sitting up by himself. He will be 6 months in 6 days and we'll be getting his pictures done at J.C. Penney. He recently found his thumb, so he is a little calmer and more self-sufficient than he used to be. I mean, for a baby that is.

Good luck to your DH's buddies Rose.

Jenny, do you have any of Drew's old socks that you'd be willing to sell to me? I would pay you whatever you think you'd get on ebay. DS has humongo feet and needs, I think, 18-month size socks. Or at least 12-month size. He's outgrown the 9-month size.

Hello everyone else!

TADA:

-washed, dried and folded a load of laundry
-took out the trash
-took a nap with the baby
-ran 2 loads of dishes (I can't wait until he is off bottles! the next one had better be able to breastfeed)
-got dinner prepped-- not time to put it in yet though
-both cats, the baby, DH and I are still in one piece

What homework?

I've missed you all! I think I can manage to post more often now.

Afternoon, all!!hey

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 09/10/2007 - 2:50pm.

Afternoon, all!!

hey Jackie!! Glad to see you poking your head in here!
Shaun, I would just divide each cob into two cobs and let everyone have half.

Wind just hit, storm coming. I don't mind, we need some more rain and we have no hay on the ground (unlike some of our friends who felt they MUST cut last week). True to word yesterday, I did nothing.

Today DH and I went to town with Drew, ate breakfast out (Huevos Rancheros, of course!), did a couple errands then stopped by the fire station before grocery store. Well, they were short handed, so he volunteered (no, he doesn't work there), and I went on to the store without him and picked him up afterwards.

I guess the big news this week is DD's and I finally got DH to let us have a house cat. I sold my sold to the devil for it, but if it will cheer up DD10 and make her livable again, it's worth it, right? I bought kitty litter and box and food today, will get a kitten tomorrow from a friend.

I smell smoke. Must investigate.
edit: still smell it, but no visual. Not in the house, outside, on the wind. Grass fire somewhere. Will have to keep my eye out for it, DH is on a ambulance call.

It's chilly here today, 57 right now. Fall is in the air. Of course, it's supposed to be back in the 90's later this week. LOL!

Today I have homework and laundry to do. We are getting the kitten right after school, so that too.

Becky, I've already given 12-month and smaller to a friend, and are still wearing 18 month here. Sorry I can't help you out.

Time to get busy!

Hi Flyfriends!

Submitted by Tigerlilly on Tue, 09/11/2007 - 7:05pm.

Its very late for us here- both kids napped and it took forever to get them to bed tonight. Finally sitting down for 5 minutes before I crash into bed.

Jenny, good luck with the kitten. How funny that we are trying to find an older outdoor cat. We thought we found one on craigslist but turns out she is an indoor cat. I dont want to take a chance with the kids leaving the door open that it would get lost. Alexa has her heart set on a black and white kitty she can call Oreo. Wish me luck Smiling

Waves to everyone before I fall on my face.

~survived the first real day of preschool. She did fine. Kissed me goodbye and never looked back. Lets hope it lasts Smiling

~2 loads laundry
~survived the day inside since the weather was really bad thunderstorms.
OK have a great sleep Love Jackie

Goodness!

Submitted by Shaun on Wed, 09/12/2007 - 10:29am.

Did you move to Minnesota recently Jenny! Smiling

I did make some terrific corn pudding the other day, although it was probably the least healthy thing I could do with the corn. What can I say, the Georgia in me won out.

Been on the run today:

TADAs
bank stop
Michael's craft stop (the new Martha stuff is cute!!)
swiped kitchen
freelance work

PODA
laundry
drop stuff at Kinkos to copy
mexican fish and chips for dinner
schedule truck rental for this weekend -- IKEA run and brush dumping

I'm not feeling too ambitious today, I guess.

We passed a pet shop by Michael's today and saw the cutest little kitty -- DD8 just hates that she is so allergic, but her allergy is so severe that we could not have a cat under any circumstances. She is so mad -- "I hate being allergic! I want a cat!"

I did nothing but play video

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 09/12/2007 - 4:11pm.

I did nothing but play video games today. LOL! I really did buy it for DS5s birthday last week. But of course I have to beat it, too. LOL! The kitty just played in the living room with Drew and I played. Also did some paid embroidery work (I can play while the machine is going). I'm horrible! But I LOVE Star Wars LEGOS II! LOL!

I'll catch up on my chores, later. DH isn't home for dinner tonight, so I can veg out on dinner, sandwiches or something. I'm being lazy.

Ok, day just ruined. DD8 reported that room-mother-from-hell was seen in our school today. Crap, she is probably sending her kids out here again. double crap. I'm going to call her teacher right now and see if it's true (teacher is a cousin, so it's not uncommon that I call her). Triple crap. Drew killed my cell phone today. Child never puts anything in his mouth, and today he slobbers all over my phone and it's now dead. And just two days ago DH asked me how my phone was holding up. Guess I may go get a new one anyway. Maybe a Razer. Hmmm...

sorry Jenny!

But now I'm looking forward to being able to play video games with Sam. Smiling

Lego Star Wars!

Submitted by silverbear on Thu, 09/13/2007 - 4:49am.

DS10 loves, loves, loves Lego Star Wars!

It's a beautiful crisp day here. There are 6 or 7 American House Finches flitting around the feeders in front of the living room window. The males are starting to lose their bright red plumage .. a sure sign that summer is ending.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day.

Today's challenge: NOT to

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 09/13/2007 - 9:14am.

Today's challenge: NOT to turn on Star Wars Legos. LOL! I beat every level yesterday. But now I need to go back and find all the extra things like the ten canisters in each level, finding each red brick, and achieving True Jedi in both the Story mode and Free play mode. LOL! I won't rest until it says I have completed 100% of it and getting all 99 gold bricks.

I so need help.

I HAVE to work in the office today. Invoices, bills, filing, more bills. It's all piling up!! As well as the laundry! Cursed PS2!!!

Already went to town and got me a new cell phone (a hot pink Razr!). Need to program the numbers that didn't trasfer from my SIM card and set ringers, too. That's going to be so cool. Just what I needed, a new toy. Speaking of toys, two things for my gift list: a flat panel screen for my puter and an iPod. Expensive toys, I know.

Flylady help please

Submitted by Guest (not verified) on Fri, 09/14/2007 - 2:02pm.

Is anyone not receiving their Flylady mail?
I'm getting other Yahoo group mail and for some reason am not getting Flylady mail. When I go to my groups and click on flylady, it says there is no new activity, but I know flylady better than that. I don't think I changed any settings but I don't know where to begin looking. Can anybody help me?

Melinda--check and see if

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 09/14/2007 - 3:28pm.

Melinda--check and see if your messages are being bounced. You can do that in your yahoo groups, possibly even on the flylady page. I've been getting my messages (though I haven't looked at them in a coons age).

TADA: a TON of office work! Last three months of filing, updated Quicken, including 3 farm credit cards accounts I haven't reconciled or added transactions all year. Been paying the bills on them, just needed to record it all down. Then paid bills, reconciled checkbook, too. Printed invoices and statements for customers, discovered an error, hopefully have it fixed, transferred money. Been BUSY! But still managed to play PS2 a little with DS5. And have done 2 loads of laundry (which isn't much). OH! Big TADA: heard a mouse in the bathroom under the vanity, where DH keeps all his newspapers, etc. Cleaned it out, found him but he escaped (but I had blocked all exits). Anyway, set a trap in there, and caught the bastard. He was a pretty big one, too! And found papers from 2002 under the vanity.

Need to cook a pork roast to make into BBQ for Sunday, figure out dinner for tonight.

Hi Everyone - Yes, Jenny,

Submitted by Andrea on Fri, 09/14/2007 - 4:57pm.

Hi Everyone -
Yes, Jenny, you SO need to get off the PS2!! Well, you did get a lot done today, esp. the mouse part. And I chuckled when you said you found papers from 2002 under the vanity. That is so SHE.

Hi Melinda and rose and Shaun and Becky! Where is Heidi, for goodness sake! I hope she's ok - she kept us plugging along with her PODAs.

Well, we are hanging in here. Maintaining mostly now that I am back to work. That means laundry, dishes, cooking, and basic chores such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, bathrooms dustmopping, etc. Not much extra stuff is getting done. But that's ok for now. I'm debating about hiring a housekeeper. I hate to let go of the $, but it would really free me up to spend more time with the kids, etc.

I am looking forward to the weekend mostly. I have gotten wrapped up in some church stuff that I don't especially enjoy, but it will be ok. This is my last year of it I hope.

Have a great weekend guys - I will be popping in - I'd like to get some more scrapping done - DD's book is caught up believe it or not!

Delegate!

Submitted by Shaun on Fri, 09/14/2007 - 8:24pm.

I am always trying to assess what the most effective ways of delegating would be. Andrea, you could always choose specific tasks for a housekeeper that you really hate or that are really inconvenient or whatever,

I am so disorganized, and yet I am increasingly good at identifying where the time and energy suckers are and addressing those first. The disorganization -- hello, Flylady! -- is mainly a byproduct of Too Much Stuff and not a result of being lazy or scattered myself.

Not a lot done here today:

TADAs
laundry
kept dishes moving
haircut for DD8
postoffice run
homeschool
freelance work

Can I put "got DH to make dinner?" on my list?

Gotta clean out the fridge this weekend - ewwww!

Andrea, the old newspapers

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 09/14/2007 - 9:27pm.

Andrea, the old newspapers weren't even in my bathroom. Yes, they were in the master bath. But that is DH's bathroom. I refuse to keep my stuff in there or shower. I HATE that shower and have only used once in 5 years. I share the kids bathroom. But, I suppose I have neglected that bathroom because I don't use it. DH hates it when I throw his magazines and farm publications away, even though he never reads them (he's more of a pictures/verbal kinda guy. Hates to read).

We watched Gremlins tonight. The ratdog we camped with a couple weeks ago reminded me of a Gremlin, decided to scare the kids a bit. LOL! Nice night, though.

Tomorrow: football game for us to cheer at, followed by our community's family fun day (games for the kids, hamburgers, and later on a dance). Will be gone all day.

Not bouncing/plan for today

Submitted by Guest (not verified) on Sat, 09/15/2007 - 4:57am.

Ok I have checked and I'm not bouncing, it seems I'm getting discussion group email but not announcement only email. I'm at a loss as to how to fix it.

Since I'm hereI'll go ahead and post my plan for the day!

dishes
laundry
clean the church
get new to me bedroom furniture, which will involve massive rearranging of all bedrooms
grocery shop (winn dixie has boxtop rewards this week)
buy/make bday invitations for ds almost4
settle down by 5:45 for required viewing of Alabama football game!

Have a great day, I hope some of you less technology challenged people can help with my flylady problem.

TADA

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 09/15/2007 - 8:58pm.

Done:
*cooked a pork roast all night in the crockpot, made BBQ out of it this morning
*made two batches of brownies for community fun day thing
*cleaned kitchen
*did last of paid sewing for friend
*made it to football game
*coached/babysat 18 little girls (ages 4-10) for football game, by myself
*did that while still chasing DS1 and DS5
*went to community fun day (about 50 or so people showed up)
*chased the DS1 and DS5 all day
*DS1 threw up. Cleaned up puke, loaded up kids, came home

I'm going to note that I did all this by myself. DH was too busy with setting up for fun day, manning the unused but needed for standby ambulance for football games, and playing in the band at fun day (he was supposed to play only from 4-7. But the band they hired had an emergency and had to cancel last minute. So he played til 10). Still, I'm pissed off that yet again he got out of dancing with me, and yet again, I spent all day taking care of all the kids.

Hi Everyone - Well, we've

Submitted by Andrea on Sun, 09/16/2007 - 3:35pm.

Hi Everyone -

Well, we've had a weekend that is not worth repeating here - 'nuf said. Let's just say that the stress of work, family, church, etc. has finally come to a head with me. Hoping to work towards a solution somehow.

Flying - maintaining mostly. I am still plugging along on the scrapping, which is very important to me. Caught up on DD's book and only about 11 months behind on DS's.

Looking forward to a calmer week. WE do have meals planned. DH did shopping this am while I was at church. We saw a really cute movie, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a "feel-good" flick - Mr. Bean's Adventure! Loved it.

See you guys - let's start a new thread tomorrow - I may not get to it, but someone else please?

Just read this guys, and it spoke to me somehow! I really need to let go of my self-centeredness. I am building something greater than me right now and need to better at it, like the workers with the cathedrals! Anyway, wanted to share this and thought this would be a good place.

DH made great chicken and black bean burritos tonite - yum! I think we are having sausages with peppers and onions tomorrow. This is a stovetop recipe from Marcella Hazan, if there are any Italian chefs out there.

See ya!

Morning! Sorry about the

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 09/17/2007 - 7:10am.

Morning!
Sorry about the crappy weekend, Andrea. I'll have to check out that link (later, no time today).

Did my news for the paper. Now I'm stamping bills, and am preparing to go to town. Almost out of milk and bread, neither we can live without for a day. I've also talked DH into meeting me in bigger town at Lowes to look at flooring auctions for the new room (that USED to be the garage. It's now a ROOM!!). I had to bribe him with lunch at Chilis (hehehe, I'm using a gift card HE got for Christmas).

Hope we all have a great week this week! We have no ball games to cheer at, DH only has one meeting (regional school board), and he is done cutting hay for a few days. Hopefully will be a more relaxing week.

I'm a slow starter today -- hope to get moving after lunch at least! But I did do some of the stuff I was going to do today last night, so that helps. Flo . . . she makes my life hard.

PODA:
Freelance work
Dinner: Zucchini burritos and refried beans, maybe corn
Laundry laundry laundry
homeschool
church meeting tonight -- I'm going to teach Sunday school -- eek!

Hope you get your scrapping done, Andrea. I'm going scrapping Friday night . . . for my 38th birthday . . . Dun Dun DUN! EEK!
