Back to Monday! We are inBack to Monday! We are in the process of unloading the camper. All food, towels, and stuff from Sam's trip yesterday are unloaded. One load of laundry going now. Still working on unloading more clothes. I have sent the girls out there to unload their stuff at the moment, so I have a sec to check in. Then I will probably turn the computer off for most of the day (DD10 gets easily distracted by the computer, too. She has to finish HP first before I let her onto her favorite websites: mugglenet and the leaky cauldron). Laundry, more laundry, and decluttering for stuff to donate to the church yard sale. Write my news column real quick. And work on my house and yard is the plan for the day and the rest of the week. I won't be lacking for stuff to do. LOL! Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA dinner Jenny-welcome home! Heidi ![]() Those are cute pictures! Those are cute pictures! Gotta find one for myself now. I got a LOT done today, it sounds like you gals did too. It was hot, thank God for AC. See ya tomorrow - ![]() Morning Everyone - TADA soMorning Everyone - TADA so far: PODA: Good morning!! The girls andGood morning!! The girls and I got the camper unpacked, Sams stuff put away, and I managed to do 6 loads of laundry (completely! Even put away!). And that was just laundry from the trip. I still have a couple more just in the house. LOL! Also cleaned out the fridge a bit, got rid of some science projects and got the kitchen in fairly decent shape (except the snack bar. A constant pile spot. It's mostly piled with washed towels and bedding that goes back out in the camper). I will probably run to town today. DD10's new lenses for her glasses came in, and I need bread, milk, cheese and yogurts to survive a few days. I hate to do that because I'll be back in town tomorrow for DH and my date (taking me, and only me, no baby, to see Harry Potter! yeah!), and may be in town Thursday to drop off stuff for church yard sale. Oh, well. What pisses me off is that diesel here is still 2.99/gallon and down in Texas it's 2.65. WTH? Now, to talk myself into letting go of baby things... ![]() you got marked as spamI'm using a new spam filter (really working well on the whole) and it flagged you as spam. *This* filter seems to learn much faster and much better than prior ones, and you're obviously getting through now. TADA: DS having a friend over now, but we are off to Dr. for physicals soon - Good Evening! TADA morningGood Evening! TADA PODA Kids in pool now, wings in the oven... Heidi ![]() Yum, wings! How do you makeYum, wings! How do you make those Heidi? I've only done the fried version. Is your beach on a lake? I opted to try something else besides Bohjalian - am now reading Middlesex - good so far. I think you might like it. Well, we got through the physicals and received somewhat of a red flag with DD8. She has several "cafe au lait" marks on her body, which CAN be a sign of a genetic disorder called neurofibromastosis. It is a disorder where benign tumors can grow within the body and cause problems, in a nutshell. Lovely. Nothing is for sure of course, this is just one sign of many, but our PA wants to get it checked out, so she is calling the genetics dept. at our big hospital tomorrow to get some guidance. Of course I've googled it to death and am just kinda numb now. Not really worried, just wondering. On a brighter note, I did get my PODA done including some fun stuff with DD. She loved making those silly rice krispie treats and eating them! I think she would enjoy a cooking lesson now and then or something like that. OK, I'm off - see ya in the am - Andrea-I am hoping DD's nextAndrea-I am hoping DD's next tests show nothing unusual, that is scary though when you are in limbo as to if it is anything to be concerned about. Hoping all is well. Yes,our beach is on Lake Erie. DD collected alot of small shells and rocks but mostly frolicked in the water. DS didn't really want to go and mostly sat on the blanket and watched. He has become moody lately. Must be all the hormonal almost 13 stuff! If I survive the teen years it will really be something! I make the wings in the oven and just bake them, brushing bbq sauce on at the end, no biggie. Sometimes we use the deepfryer but I didn't feel like hauling that out last night. Today is a play up at the high school this afternoon of High School Musical. It is the same acting camp that DS went to at the beginning of the summer. A few of his friends are in this one too so we will go up and see it after lunch. So: PODA Have a pleasant day everyone Heidi ![]() Morning Everyone - ThanksMorning Everyone - TADA so far: PODA: DD has a friend staying overnite - Great, the boys get moodyGreat, the boys get moody too? Ugh! Andrea, I'm sure your drs. concerns will be nothing. I'll be thinking about ya'll. I cleaned out a cedar chest and coat closet and am taking a bunch of stuff for the garage sale. Some nice curtains that came with this house (but so not my style). They are pretty large, one fits a 75" window, the other a 91". Also many comforter sets, waterbed sheets, other stuff we just don't have or need anymore. Other than a load of laundry, I didn't get a whole lot else done. We went to town and got groceries and new lenses put in DD10's glasses. BIG news here: Drew slept ALL NIGHT and IN HIS BED! Doubtful he will repeat the act, but one can hope. I think today I'll work on the girls' room and clothes. Tax free weekend is this weekend, I need to see what, if anything, we will need for them. I'm doubtful we will need anything but a few school supplies. DD10 was excited to see the school supplies lists from each school up in Walmart, but that was deflated when she discovered that 5th grade wasn't on the list, since that is the beginning of middle school. I got her a cool planner to make up for it, with the condition that she has to USE it and I will be checking it. I have a date tonight. With my husband. LOL! Taking me to Red Lobster then to see Harry Potter. I may have to make him watch #4 today so he can understand #5 a bit better tonight. LOL! Boys......I have a friend who commented (on her then 13ish son) "If we can get him to grunt and wear deoderant we consider the day a success..." More recently, (about the time he turned 17) she commented on the "delightful young man" he is turning out to be... This too shall pass and all will be well! Lenora PS: Prayers for your DD, Andrea...and for you as you wait for more info. Good Morning! Lenora-thanksGood Morning! Lenora-thanks for the encouragement about teen boys. At least his moodiness is sprinkled into his usually pleasant demeanor and not the other way around! Stay cool in this terrible heat we are having...bleh. TADA so far: PODA: See ya! Anybody know anything aboutAnybody know anything about Shaun? On vacation or anything. Doesn't she live in Minn. where the bridge collasped? No flying done yesterday, too busy playing with the kids, then playing with DH. LOL! Went to Harry Potter, where of course it was wonderful. So nice to see a movie without a constant stream of interuptions. We picked up DS1 on the way home, but the rest of the kids spent the night. I'll go get them later this afternoon, then going to a friends house to play with her kids. In the meantime, I need to gather a few more items for garage sale and haul it on over to the church. Maybe a load of laundry to get done, maybe mow the lawn if it dries out enough (rained early this morning). ![]() Shaun is okayShe has a message up on her blog. Thank goodness! I was very worried, too. So sad for those who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. ![]() You guys are so thoughtfulI've not been on vacation, but dealing with a very sick kid. (All better today, thank goodness.) As I noted on the blog, the sick kid kept me away from the bridge, which I would have been driving on within an hour before the collapse. Very upsetting. Friends are all checking in with each other this morning, especially as many of my mom friends have spouses who drive that bridge for their commute. It is emotional day here, and last night too. I hope you get some good news about your DD, Andrea. That is the kind of thing that makes a mom really ruminate. ![]() Hi All - Yes, thank goodnessHi All - Glad you got to see the movie Jenny! I'm flying pretty well today. Yes, it is a lot easier w/o kids around. They will be home soon. Still waiting for the next step for DD. My Dr.'s office did talk to someone in the genetics department at the hospital and they were going to get back to them. Soon, I hope. I am pretty convinced this is not a big deal, but we do need to check it out. If she does happen to have this disorder, we need to know. There is a warm breeze here and quite humid. I was thinking about walking, but just not sure I have it in me. Good Afternoon! DONE! lotsGood Afternoon! DONE! lots of crowds and lots of traffic at the places I needed to go to today, yuck. Shaun-how scary about the bridge, glad you all are safe. Andrea-rainy here, need it though. I haven't walked in quite awhile myself, been way too hot. Hope to get back into it soon though. Jenny-do you have to staff a table at the church sale or just attend? Don't buy back all your stuff!!!LOL Dinner??? Maybe I'll order in,don't feel like cooking at all Heidi Heidi, neither. Just dropHeidi, neither. Just drop stuff off for the church to sell for themselves. I don't get any of the money, but they have enough workers that I don't have to help, either. Unfortunatly, it didn't happen. I just couldn't work it in the schedule to get to town. A friend called and wanted a play date, so we have been over there (while she tried to get my girls to take a litter of kittens home. I'm all for many cats, but my dog is too. He likes to play with them to death, literally). I got alot of zone stuff done in the living room/dining room today. At least it's all clean. Good Morning! Becky-Hi! SoGood Morning! Becky-Hi! So how old is the baby now? Hope to see you around here when you can. PODA Well, kids have all their school supplies and DS has some new clothes. DD doesn't need any clothes til fall weather sets in. But both need new shoes. Hope to get those at the mall today. Maybe have lunch there too. Very hot and humid here. But at least it rained so the flowers are happy. My dad and stepmom will be here in just under 2 weeks so I need to start thinking about meals and activities for that visit. We are excited to see them, they have a great relationship with the kids. Just wish we got to see them more than twice a year. Have a good one,TGIF! Heidi ![]() Morning everyone - Good luckMorning everyone - Good luck shoe shopping Heidi - Hi Becky! Got any pictures to show us? TADA: PODA: See ya! Hi Becky! Hope to hear howHi Becky! Hope to hear how motherhood is treating you some day, when you get a free moment or two! Heidi, sounds like you are all ready for school to start. Haven't even started on the supplies list here. And haven't started cleaning out the girls room, going thru their clothes, etc. Better do that this next week. I did, however, tackle a few piles building up in the office. It's mainly DH's stuff that is piled. He goes thru his mail once ever 6 months (eyeroll here). I usually take care of everything, but every now and then he has something I put on his desk. Had to find those items, sorted all his farm mags, etc (he insists he needs and reads them, but I know he doesn't. Still, he refuses to not get them). Even found the top to my desk (it IS there!). I have some filing to do today, a couple bills to pay. Then I guess we are going to the inlaws because favorite aunt and uncle are in town. Tomorrow is DH's school reunion. Which is why aunt/uncle are here. It's a big deal. Even having BBQ catered and a dance w/ a live band. Should be fun (the last dance we had last year, DH got called out to fight a fire just as it started and I didn't get a single dance!). Well, ya'll have a good one! Good Evening! Well DD got aGood Evening! Well DD got a new pair of shoes but DS didn't so need to take him still soon. Jenny-have fun at the reunion, hope you get to dance! Dinner awaits.... Heidi ![]() HI All- Had another hot andHI All- I got a lot done, won't bore you with the TADA as it was mostly routine stuff. I've been working on closets and drawers and am really pleased with the progress. Giving a lot of clothes away helps of course. I have an appointment at the hospital on August 28th for new patients who are suspected of having this genetic disorder. The uncertainty is the worst part of it, just trying to think positive about it. We could've gotten in earlier, but that was during our vacation, darn! Keep us in your prayers guys, we will need them. See ya and have a great evening. Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA I love FLW design and DS wants to be an architect when he grows up so we have a date today! Have a good one! Heidi Post new comment |
