Harry Potter Help

Submitted by Shaun on Thu, 07/19/2007 - 12:36pm.

We're headed to small Harry Potter party tomorrow, and I am in charge of potions/dessert toppings.

I have a load of goodies for making “potions” — ice cream sundaes with all kinds of re-named toppings. That’s my fun project for tonight — making jars of nargle spleens (butter crunch cashews) and shredded moth wings (shaved white chocolate) and such like. I found these great Harry and David malted milk balls coated in a funky marbled green — eye of newt? — and jordan almonds to be some kind of egg — mini dragons? Keebler makes graham crackers shaped like insects too.

I'm guessing if some of you put your minds to it you will have even better ideas for these items:

Marshmallow Cream
Cinnamon imperials
Peanut Butter jelly beans (though Troll Boogers seems the obvious)
Strawberry syrup
Chocolate syrup
Crushed mint oreo cookies
Maraschino cherries

Person with the best ideas will recieve a pack of Chocolate Frogs via Owl Post!

I can't remember how that's described but that'd be good for one of the syrups.

A HP party sounds like so much fun! The bookstore on our university campus is having one, but I seriously doubt we will be going a) it's last night of Vacation Bible school and I'm NOT missing out on all you can eat homemade ice cream at it; b) we are leaving on vacation first thing Saturday (but stopping by Walmart on the way out of town to get the book). I will be doing last minute packing.

Have fun!!

We have baseball tickets tomorrow night, but right after the fireworks we're headed to our neighboring burg for this extravaganza!

Check out what all the downtown businesses are doing!

I'm no help for your party, Shaun...but have a magical time!
