I cannot believe I haven't added this to the reviews before now. This is one of our very favorite short films, and it becomes a favorite of everyone we've shown it to.

Made by a couple of (very patient and ingenious) German artists in a warehouse, "The Way Things Go" has no music or narration. It documents an extremely imaginative Rube Goldberg-esque set of physics and chemistry experiments that trigger even more physics and chemistry experiments. No humans appear in the film; it's just one long chain of interactions. It is inventive, hypnotic and strangely hilarious.

It is filled with "how did they do that?!" moments that could fill an entire year's worth of homeschool science experiments. (Use caution around adolescent boys; it could spark unsupervised experimentation!)
