![]() View from the streetToday I walked a lot outside, on an actual sidewalk. yikes! First I walked about 8 blocks with a good friend who needed a shoulder, and back. And then I walked from 11th and Alder to 3rd and Washington-ish to catch the bus after the knit blogger meet-up, and another three blocks to home from the bus stop. The view was of lots of people, and heat waves rising from the asphalt downtown, and boats clustered around Waterfront Park on the blue sparkling river, out to hear the Blues Festival. The next few days are supposed to be in the 90s-100s (very unusual here, and our second heat wave this year), so I'll have to get my walking in early. Lynn Siprelle, Editor ![]() View from the treadmill 7-17-07I haven't walked on the treadmill or on the street much. The heat was beyond oppressive, and Sunday night I barely slept. But I got back on today and in fact increased my intensity a shy bit. I did 20 minutes at 1.6, bursting up to 2.0 for minutes 8 through 11. I feel good. I sincerely wish the health club down the street--three blocks away!--would get under construction and open, for the love of pete! On the very hot days I just cannot do the treadmill, and apparently thanks to global warming we're going to have more and more of them here in the northern latitudes. The view today was of a small ant colony that has decided to take up residence in my upstairs bathroom wall (not for long). Out the skylight, the sky was a light dove gray, and the big treetop a somber dark green, barely swaying in what's passing for a breeze on this heavy-aired day. bleh. Lynn Siprelle, Editor It sounds like you are onIt sounds like you are on the right path to fitness! I had a treadmill once and traded it for a desk and filing cabent another cabenet and $50...LOL...see how much I used it! Keep up the good work! KAK ![]() VFTT 7-19-07Today I did 20 minutes at 1.6 mph without bursting up to 2. I was seeing my pulse in my eyes and was awful tired. I realized yesterday I hadn't been taking B12 lately. Today I started back up and did feel a little peppier, but right now I'm a bit low. The view today was of a sweet blue sky. The big treetop was a lively green, its shape mirrored by the puffy white clouds with gray undersides that floated past. Lynn Siprelle, Editor ![]() View from the zoo, 7-22-07We left the house at 9 and got home at 4:30, and almost all that time I was walking or on my feet. So there's my workout for today. The view was of air thick with moisture--rain, already!--crowds of people, dozens of babies, many animals. Lynn Siprelle, Editor Oh! We love a zoo!We are "zoo members" go at least twice a month from spring through fall...occasionally we head to the Rainforest at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in the winter...it's always a balmy 82 degrees there! Last Saturday the DDS and I went to Columbus to visit the Zoo there...they have baby gorillas! Columbus's zoo is very flat compared to Cleveland's, which requires a quarter-mile trek uphill to get to the Primate, Cat, and Aquatics exhibits. On the other hand, Columbus is more "space"...more steps between animals! I always come home tired. It was a good day. Lenora *~* GLITTERY.HOMEMAKER*~* GLITTERY.HOMEMAKER *~* Lynn - you've been doing an excellent job with your fitness routine!! Way to go!! Doing other activities like going to the zoo or even cleaning your house and doing gardening are also great ways to exercise and they do not even feel like you might be exercising Post new comment |
