MondayEnjoy your pool, Heidi! DH didn't do too bad on the present. He called me while in Walmart and we "shopped" together over the cell phones. Got her a High School Musical poster and the game Twister. It was hard getting anything done for her birthday. SIL was in town, so had to spend most of the time at inlaws (heaven forbid she actually come to MY house). Ended up having to make two birthday cakes (one for while SIL was there on Friday, and one for DDs actual birthday on Saturday). Also involved fixing a late dinner to accomodate DH and inlaws (9:00!!). I was tuckered by the end of the day. Yesterday we went to church, then had to hang around town from 11-3 waiting for a baby shower to begin. Let me tell ya, when the only place open on Sunday is Walmart, there isn't much to do for 4 hours. LOL! Got the inside of the Yukon sorta cleaned out, ate lunch, rented some movies, baby showered (oooh, aaah, booooring). So, today I have started cleaning out the garage. Got all the firewood out (didn't find anymore snakes, yet). I bought some rubbermaid tubs and some of those jumbo space saver bags, and am now washing some comforters that were boxed up out there and will try out those bags on them. I probably SHOULD get rid of the things, but they are special to me, they were my old bedding when I was a little girl. Box of my old stuffed animals are out there, too. I have seperation issues. Flylady would not be pleased. Taking a picture is not enough. I need to have these things. Anyway, I'm working on that today. Well, I was. Kids are up, so I guess I can't do much else out there. I don't want the kids out there. Oh, I saw no less than 10 mice, one is dead, another the dog caught (he caught his first rabbit the other day, too!). ![]() Cool poolsWe spent yesterday afternoon in a friend's pool -- cooled me off for the rest of the day! I am wishing I could go again -- it's another hot, humid day here. (Emphasis on humid.) The girls will be off to the pool w/ Nanny, I think. (Nanny is a college student who would like nothing more!) Lots to do to keep getting ready for vacation. Cleaned out the laundry room with the Professional Organizer (PO?) on Friday -- oh man! I still need to mop the floor, but oh what a difference. Of course, I have a ton of stuff in the LR waiting to get moved out of the house. Nonetheless, it's nice to go work on my mountains of laundry and smile rather than cringe. You would not believe the amount of Just Plain Garbage that does not get moved out of our house. I had something like *eight* empty bottles of various detergents and bleaches waiting to be rinsed and recycled. And I bet you can't guess how many vaccuming devices we have in the house. Oh, but let's not go there . . . Hope everyone has a great day! Oooo, poooool...soundsOooo, poooool...sounds gooooood!! I can say I cleaned the kitchen after I cooked last night. Not much flying got done. I did cook up a batch of fried squash with the first 4 I picked out of the garden yesterday. NOTHING like the first squash of the season!! Oh, I did get three loads of comforters washed. One is on DS1s bed, the others I put in the space saver bags and they worked pretty good. 1:00am: DS4 woke up screaming and running around the house. I got to him and he was covered in blood. Got him cleaned up, had a big cut between the eyes. I do some investigating and I think he did it on his daddy's belt buckle, which was laying on the sofa attached to his jeans and DS4 was sleeping there. There was blood EVERYWHERE! All over the sofa, a blanket, and the carpet. I don't know how people try to cover up a murder! I ended up getting out the shampooer and got alot of it out, but there is still a bit on the floor. I did it with cold water instead of hot. I'll hit it again today. Shampooing all the carpets is on my list of things to do anyway (well, it was further down the list. It just got bumped up the list). Kids are waking up, I better get dressed and busy. Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Jenny-what a scary way to be woken up! Glad he is okay. Shaun- a nanny and an organizer, how lucky. I am jealous!! Gotta run..... Heidi ![]() I need them all!I am Queen of Outsourcing. Or in this case, Insourcing. As a friend says of me, "It takes a village to keep Shaun going." (That includes the financial planner, the therapist, the psychiatrist, my subcontractors for work, in addition to nanny and PO . . . ) What I really want is a personal secretary! But not until I'm done with the PO, and probably the therapist too. (That would be primarily for my work, but probably for some personal stuff too. I could be like Mr. Pitt and Seinfeld and send my Elaine out for the perfect socks!) Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA 90 here today,bleh... stay cool everyone! Heidi And to cut up your SnickersAnd to cut up your Snickers bars so you can eat them with a fork. LOL! I washed 3 loads of stuffed animals yesterday, as well as another load with seat covers for the pickup that were out in the garage and another blanket and towel. Ugh, the mice! I've got a load of stuff to haul to the trash pit. I hope to work on the carpet today (no time yesterday). Except for the huge blood stains. I need hydrogen peroxide for that I thinks, and I have none. I'll get a few bottles tomorrow when I go to town (unless someone has put THAT on some list so I can't buy mass quantities of it). I'm showered and dressed, kids are fed, dishes unloaded from dishwasher, bed made. On a roll so far this morning! But so much to do! ![]() Kee hee!I forgot that one, Jenny! I am also plowing through the laundry. We're going out of town again soon, so I am trying to get all the laundry caught up so nothing stinky or gross sits and mildews in our basement for over a week. DD4 is not helping -- she can't seem to stop peeing on everything! I try to be a patient, accepting mama, but mostly I am thinking "You are 4, cut that out!" Cleaned up in my office a bit and picked up in the basement. I think I'll have the girls go around with me for a bit tomorrow to get things together. I really want to have a semi-clean home to come home to, though I usually don't. Usually the house looks like we fled under duress. (When we left for Mexico I said that to DH, who said, "Well, aren't we?" Touche!) I had better start getting ready for bed. I still need to make all my lists for getting out of town. Can't pack, clean, or meet deadlines without lists! Shaun, I have the sameShaun, I have the same problem when we leave for vacation. The house is never as clean as I want it to be. Always something left in the sink, or someone put something in the trash and stunk up the place. Last time, my FIL had come over to feed the animals and left the door from the garage to the house open. It took a while to kill all the mice that came in. My big TADA for yesterday was getting the entire living room/dining room/foyer carpet shampooed. It involved moving furniture around 4 times to get all the areas. But it looks good. Oh, and if you ever have a need to get alot of blood out of carpet (you know, if you murdered your DH because he is worse than all of your children put together at picking up after himself), just pour a bottle of hydrogen peroxide on the stains and it ALL comes out. Every bit of the blood is gone! Oh, if only OJ had known. LOL! It was really cool, it just foamed up about an inch high. It was a good 2sq foot area of blood (no, I didn't murder DH. Poor DS4 cut his head open in the middle of the night. I had never seen so much blood! It really kinda freaked me out). Oh, and I cleaned kitchen after dinner (not that you could tell after DH hit it later for midnight snacks and popcorn). Today...It's Thursday! May see if a decent movie is at the free show (we haven't been yet this year), and get some groceries. Have some money to deposit (in regular account, then gotta write a check of it and deposit at farm loan bank). Need to dump that trash, too. I think the stench in the garage is going down! Yay! Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA A good friend bought a house and wants me to help her choose some kitchen and bath accessories today. Little does she know that I will be treating her to them as a housewarming gift. Should be fun. Tomorrow is the last swim lesson for DD. I sure hope she passes this level since this is the 3rd summer she has taken it!!! One more week of camp for Ds then he will be home. I'll give him plenty of chill out time but by mid-late July he needs something more structured. We will look into volunteer opportunities nearby. He is 12 and 1/2,ready to do alittle giving back type of work. Better get lunch together here. Have a good evening. Heidi Going to try to be a regular hereok. I would like to try to become part of the group. I've been a Flylady follower for a couple years but have never got anywhere with it. Good intentions - lack of follow through. I've "started the program" over and over! I am stay at home mom of a two and half year old boy and a 15 month old girl. It was a year ago today that her identical twin died and last month both my mom and dad died 9 days apart. It's been a hard year. I'm living in chaos and I can't take it anymore. PLUS, I am due to have another baby girl in Nov. I am happy about it but need to get my routines in place NOW. So, here I am. today I will start the 31 beginner steps. ![]() Welcome Amy!I'm so sorry for your losses -- I hope Flylady gives you some order and peace. We are out of order, turning things upside down to get on the road this afternoon. And -- new sofa delivered! About 4 weeks early! It came at 7 this morning (I asked to be the first stop, since we need to get on with things here.) Did most of my packing last night, so I think I can handle things today. Be good -- I may check in from the lake! Welcome Amy!! I've startedWelcome Amy!! I've started Flylady many times myself. I used to be a really good flybaby back when I only had two kids. Then somewhere along the way when number 3 and 4 hit, I've just gotten lazy. I'm really sorry for your losses, too. I looked at your blog and all of your children are precious!! But yay on the new one coming along! My 4th was a November baby. The maternity ward in our hospital was PACKED! I got the last bed that night, and it was in triage. Apparently, it's 9 months from Valentines day and everyone got knocked up. LOL! Shaun, enjoy the lake! I got the shopping done yesterday. Groceries, banks, went to a friends work to fill her in on what she needs to bring for our camping trip next weekend (they have never been and are new to RVing). Did some lifeplanning yesterday, too. I'll be going back to college full time in 2 years, but I'm sure having a hard time waiting. I want to get it done NOW. But can't Drew starts preschool. The girls and I also had fun drooling over houseplans. LOL! No, not building one. But wouldn't that be nice? It was fun, I love looking at houseplans, it wouldn't matter if I had the best and newest house around. I just enjoy it. Back to the grind today. Got laundry and dishwasher going now. I need to put rugs back down in living/dining room (had to wait for carpet to dry after shampooing the other day). I really want to get some yard work done. Weeds in the garden are taking over, especially the cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. Hopefully I can work out there with the kids (and not have Drew pulling up the wrong things behind me)! I'm going to stay busy today. And as always, watching for rattlesnakes. My dog needs to learn to alert me to such things and kill them himself. Good Morning! WelcomeGood Morning! Welcome Amy Shaun-have a great vacation TADA PODA After 3 summers,DD passed level 2 in swimming so now we will continue with lessons for a couple more weeks. DS has been squinting while wearing his glasses so we are headed to the eye doctor after camp today. Pretty sure we will end up with a new prescription. Making wings for dinner tonight then watching Bridge to Terabithia. Have a pleasant day guys!! Heidi ![]() That's a great movie Heidi -That's a great movie Heidi - enjoy it! DH and I just got back from a 2-night getaway to Seneca Lake at Glenora Wine Cellars. It was really nice!! Now back to reality. I have some big projects planned for this summer plus the day to day. We also just found out that DS10 made the All-Stars Team for our little town. Yay! So 3 more weeks of baseball. Welcome Amy! Catch ya in the am! nightly checkinWell, Amy, how did you do? I have to tell you, I looked at your blog alot today. You are one strong woman!! I really hope you'll stick around here. Just to introduce myself to you (Amy) a bit: I'm a 32 year old SAHM, got 4 kids (DD10, DD8, DS4 and DS19months), my hubby and I farm (hay) and ranch (black and red angus cattle) in E. New Mexico. I got a website, too, if you want to check it out: www.jandjessary.com Andrea, all-stars is kinda mixed emotions, isn't it? You are so proud that he made the team, but then going, oh MAN, more practices and games!! LOL! I hope someday I'll be there, though. Heidi, yay on DD!! Did your friend like her housewarming gifts? Well, I tackled the garden today. It was work, but got it all under control. No rattlesnakes, but found a HUGE toad that scared the begeebers out of me! I really need to spray some Weed-B-Gone on the yard. Maybe this weekend? (remember when I said I was spraying Butt-B-Gone! LOL!). Also did two loads of laundry and folded/put away 4. Loaded all that trash into the back of my pickup, will dump tomorrow. Haven't cleaned the kitchen yet. It's 9pm and DH isn't home yet (planting hay), so I'm keeping dinner warm (he requested veggee soup). I guess I COULD clean up everything but the pot of soup, couldn't I? Gosh, I'm tired! Drew took an early nap, so maybe he will go to bed at a decent hour (I'm sure it's too much to ask for him to sleep in his own bed). Think I'll watch Princess Diaries 2 with the girls. And the boys if they want. In my bed. Where we can all zonk. ![]() Morning all- Hope you gotMorning all- On to the day: We are going on an outing with my folks and on of DS's friends - a state park near here - Stonybrook. It is tons of fun b/c the kids can swim underneath waterfalls, etc. It is a short hike up a gorge - less than a mile. So I need to pack the picnic. Also changing sheets and doing some maintaining. That's about it. Good Morning! Jenny-yes,sheGood Morning! Jenny-yes,she liked her gifts although she didn't find a shower curtain that she liked so I just gave her the rest of her "budget" and told her to find one somewhere soon!! My DD is an expert toad/frog catcher. She is quick and can usually catch them only after a couple tries, muddy hands and all,but known to be wearing some pink girly clothes at the same time!! Gotta love it. Andrea-Stonybrook sounds great, enjoy your day there. Congrats to your DS on making All Stars. TADA PODA Heidi Morning all! Heidi, I wantMorning all! Andrea, have fun today. Waterfalls sound cool! DH got an early start this morning and was gone way before I woke up. I had wanted to go to Lubbock for the mud bogs (my SILs husband is racing in it, and it will be on TV there!), but DH has to plant hay so we can get done in time to go camping next weekend. So, home today. Supposed to hit 90's today, but my yard is looking horrible. I'm going to turn the sprinkler on in the front and let the kids run in it (the pool already got holes in the sides! Damn cheap $5 pool!). I got the trash loaded, now to dump it. Maybe some mowing, since I can do that with the baby on my lap. I have enough bananas to make about 4 or 6 loaves of banana bread. May make that, take a loaf for a pot luck thing at church tomorrow (wow, two Sundays in a ROW! whoohoo!). Think I'll make some pancakes for breakfast. I used to always do that on Saturdays, but fell out of the habit a few years ago. Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Heidi Lazy day for me. We went toLazy day for me. We went to church, had a pot luck there. Went to the firestation in town and visited (this is how used my kids are to being around firetrucks. They couldn't have cared less about all the trucks and ambulances. They wanted to check out the foozball table!). Got ice cream at DQ. Got home, DH grabbed his bass and he and the girls went to a pickin'. DS4 and I have been playing PS2. Though I did spray weed-b-gone on the front, side and back yards this morning before any of the kids got up. That's something. Post new comment |
