Hope everyone had a greatHope everyone had a great Mother's Day! Especially you, Becky, for your first one holding your little one!! We went camping. DH gave me my present on Friday: a 7qt cast iron dutch oven. So I could cook for him on it while we camped. LOL! It was a relaxing weekend (for him). I cooked, did dishes, chased kids. Saturday my SIL and I had too much to drink. How much does it take to get me to sing? Four silo cups of Margaritas! LOL! SIL had brought her guitar and DH his, so I sang by the campfire. Was fun, though. Mother's Day I cooked breakfast, cleaned it up, came home (4 hour drive), fixed lunch halfway in the camper, got home and unloaded most of the camper, watered the garden, fixed the soaker hose, watered more, mowed the front, side, back lawns and garden that isn't planted in veggees, fixed dinner. But I DIDN'T clean the kitchen. Drew woke up and screamed from 3am-4am til I finally got him back to sleep. Happy Mother's day to me. Laundry is going. Kitchen is now cleaned. I have more mowing to do, finish unloading the camper (all I lack are the clothes), and of course vacuuming it out, and the house. It will be a busy day for me, anyway. Ya'll have a good one! Well, here I am, talking toWell, here I am, talking to myself again... Yesterday's TADA: It was in the upper 80's yesterday. Today the wind is blowing and is chilly. I think I'll work inside today. Didn't get much inside stuff done yesterday like I had wanted to. ![]() Remember that you're always talking to me :)I read everything that posts on the site. Every last word, though I often don't say anything. Lynn Siprelle, Editor Mornin' all! Or, just Lynn?Mornin' all! Or, just Lynn? LOL! I didn't get much done yesterday. Kept the sink clean and did one load of laundry. Ended up playing too much PS2 (Star Wars Battlefront. LOL!). But will try to accomplish stuff today (like bills!). Also off to town for groceries. Cya! ![]() Poor Lonely Jenny!Flylady would be so proud of me! Well, mostly proud. I did have to hire my own personal flylady to get me going, but I have been removing clothes, books, toys, kitchen stuff, etc. from my house and putting things where they belong. I need to get rid of more, but it is so hard. I have to be patient with myself. Today OL (organizer lady) and I tackled my bedroom. Scarrrryyy! Even my closet. Now I do have so more thinning to do in my closet -- I mostly just cleaned out shoes while she was here -- but things are looking better, and Roomba is happily scooting around getting the dust bunnies from under the bed. Yay! OL is funny -- I have a plastic shoe holder-thingy on the back of my closet door, and she just kept wiping the dust off my shoes and looking at me until I said, "I guess I could get rid of some of these." It is really hard work! It gets harder every time, as the clutter keeps migrating -- I feel like we are tracking it down and cornering it. She says eventually we'll get it all, but I think it will take a while. My level of disorganization is very high -- I am a Messie, born and raised. ![]() I'm AroundIt's just a very busy month. And I'm not very perky. TADA PODA Hey, all you Jodi Picoult fans...Did you know she writes the Wonder Woman comic books? Cool, eh? Peace, Hi Jo! I'm slugging alongHi Jo! I'm slugging along with my bills right now. I don't mind paying them. In fact, I love this work. I just wish it wasn't MY money I was using. LOL! I got some flowers planted yesterday. I've also been good all week about ONE load of laundry a day, done completely. But dang, Star Wars Battlefront sure is fun to play!! LOL! Oh, and cooked a good dinner last night AND cleaned up the kitchen. And my girl is still on American Idol!! yay!! I'm always reading!I'm just SO BEHIND! I've got three books on deadline and can't seem to catch up. My house looks like a tornado hit it: hubby starting the scrap metal business has helped financially, but the house/life management thing has gotten way out of control. Funny how we can get so upside down with just one change in the routine. ![]() Hiya GirlsHey CB, we just got $4,500 from two loads of scrap. Mixed stuff including lots of copper, but still. Thank goodness, right in the nick of time too. TADA PODA Hang in there chicas! May will be over soon. See Ya, easy offJo, I use Easy Off on the stove top. spray it on, leave it on for an hour, stuff wipes right off. I use it on the drip pans, too (I put them on an oven rack and spray it all down together). It rained yesterday. Again. I don't remember a wetter spring here in the desert. LOL! Of course, that means that really soon I'll have to mow alot. But it's cooler today, so working inside. I got the dreaded bills figured out yesterday (bleh). Ready to mail, but I need stamps. Also need money in the bank to pay those bills. Hopefully will be in soon, I sent out some invoices last week. I'm going to do a small load of laundry (some stuff that I'm scared will run anyway, so glad it's a small load). My coat being one of them, it smells like campfire. Going to take most of the day off and finish up a big sewing project (mainly because I need the crib to take pictures of it. It's a crib bedding set I want to sell on Ebay or my store. I think I'm going to take the crib down this next week. He doesn't use it anyway. I'm very sad about that). Later I need to go get the girls (spent the night at MILs). Tomorrow is graduation, but I think I'll ditch it. DH has to go (school board). But I don't know. I am friendly with two of the 15 seniors. Well, if I don't post, whoWell, if I don't post, who will? LOL! I did my weekly blessing yesterday, since the inlaws came over for dinner at DH's request. Which is fine, because I don't want to do much anyway. However, I did get a stick and clean out from under the Entertainment armoir (found some movies and PS2 game we had been looking for!), and moved a cedar chest and vacuumed under both. Found lots of change and legos. And candy, dead bugs, other crap. Feels better to have that clean, even if you can't see that I did it. Today is DS4s Preschool Tea. Tonight is 4-H meeting (DD10 has to make cookies for it as soon as she gets home from school!). Busy week this week, last week of school and all. Yay! ![]() I'll post! Jenny, I can'tI'll post! Jenny, I can't believe you are on your last week of school. Bah! We have 5 weeks left! I do love my breaks in the winter though... Glad you found your movies and game! TADA: Where is everyone?? I know I haven't posted much lately but read a couple times a day. I am really focusing on the yard and gardens now and also more decluttering inside to make cleaning easier - for example clearing stuff of bathroom and kitchen counters - so much easier to clean. Ok, gotta run - Andrea, I would totallyAndrea, I would totally count the walking and working! LOL! Anyone heard from Heidi? Strange not to hear from her in so long. My son is totally tone deaf. LOL! They did a really cute program at the preschool tea yesterday, and you could really hear him! Loudest singer of them all. But didn't sing, more like screamed. Not used to that, since my girls are very good singers. But it was cute. Today is his last day of school. They are partying all day. Then tomorrow, DD8's class is having a party, and Thursday dd10's party is having a cookout/party at school. I'll be partied out! LOL! I need to do a load of laundry (been a few days since I did any), and find the sink in the kitchen. Then I think I may party with the preschoolers. One kid down, two toOne kid down, two to go! Last day of preschool went well. A parent brought a great big blow up water slide thing and bounce house and the kids had much fun with them! Today is dd7's party (a Luau on the football field). I want to make something for it. Tomorrow is awards assembly at 9, followed by dd10's class party (a cookout). I want to make stuff for that as well. Having it together with the varsity cheerleaders (4th grade teacher is also varsity cheer coach). Need to make teacher gifts. Oh, and finale of American Idol is tonight! Go Jordin!! ![]() Wow, that is a lot ofWow, that is a lot of parties Jenny! It is SO nice here today - supposed to reach mid 80's. I hope to pick up some impatiens and get them planted by the side of the house this afternoon if I have time. Both kids have games at 6:00 so it will be a busy evening. Besides that, just maintaining. Hey Guys!! Had computerHey Guys!! Had computer issues so that is why I have been absent from here, glad to be back. I have missed everyone! I also have been subbing alot at the schools in our district. I hope to continue that next year as well. So Today: TADA PODA Gotta run, have a good one Heidi Yay, Heidi's back! sorryYay, Heidi's back! sorry about the computer problems, but yay on the subbing. And Yay Jordin won last night! whoohoo! I got two loads of laundry done (but not folded) yesterday and kitchen cleaned up after making a batch of cupcakes. Today I'm off again. School Awards assembly at 9, then set up for the 4th grade/cheerleader cookout and party with all of them. ![]() YeeshBusy, busy, busy... TADA PODA The track team placed 3rd overall out of 7 teams yesterday! Yippee!! Not too shabby for a track team with no track! My guy who won the long jump has never practiced the long jump-just taken warm-up and competition jumps! Cracks me up. School is out here on June 13th, and right now, I'm living for that day... See Ya Gals, Thanks for the welcome back,Thanks for the welcome back, Jenny! Today I subbed in the guidance office, the last few days I was an aide in Sp. Ed. and before that I sat in the clinic, passing out bandaids, sanitary pads, and icepacks!!!LOL.... Yes,Jo,I think we all are living for that last day of school. I actually like all the end of year frenzy with parties and cookouts and concerts, etc. It feels so energizing with all that activity. Well DS12.5 is cutting the back grass,I have dinner in the oven and will do the front grass in a bit. Then homework,DD bath, and reading. Have a pleasant evening Heidi ![]() Yes welcome back Heidi! GladYes welcome back Heidi! Glad all is well. Sounds like a lot of variety with the subbing - that's nice. It is warm here and I am loving it! Remember our cold winter and all those snow days we had?? I am so ready for this! Just got in from doing some gardening - I'm doing baby steps with that - lots to do. Maintained today - 1 load of laundry done and dishes done, that's about it - ![]() Yay for Jenny's family!!!Yay for Jenny's family!!! Enjoy every minute - I am jealous! Only 4 more weeks for us - Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA What are you guys doing for the long weekend? Heidi Morning gals! I'm still inMorning gals! I'm still in my pjs. We got up an hour ago, didn't go to bed til 11:30 last night. Just being lazy! Well, me and the kids. DH didn't come in from plowing til about 10:30 last night and left early this morning. Heidi, nothing really big planned here for the holiday weekend. My SIL called yesterday and announced that my niece's 2nd birthday party would be Sunday at her house in Lubbock. So I need to make or get her a gift. If DH gets all his plowing done, we may just take the camper and stay a night, maybe do some shopping while we are down there (SAM'S!!). But it's really just another weekend for us. I think the kids and I may do some yard work today. I'm going to try to fix the mower and do tons of mowing (well, as much as I have gas for). All the rain we have been having have the weeds growing EVERYWHERE, something I don't like with the rattlesnakes out. I'll make the kids clean up the patio, and maybe tonight we can grill some burgers and eat out there for a change (wonder what the dog will think of that? Should be interesting. I'll probably have to lock him up so he won't eat all the kids food). Couldn't get the mower fixedCouldn't get the mower fixed myself. Will have to have DH look at it whenever he gets time (Lord only knows when that will be!). I ended up just not doing much yesterday. One load of laundry, helped the kids clean off the patio (but didn't eat out there, cloudy and windy from approaching storm). Reading the paper today and discovered a man from my church died. I knew him at church, but also back in my waitressing days, was a regular customer and a nice old man. I'm making buns now and will take them to the funeral this afternoon. Hit the grocery store while there, I'm out of tons of stuff. DNiece's birthday party tomorrow, so need to pick up a gift for her. Til tomorrow (or Monday). ![]() Goodness! There has been so much going on and I am missing it all! Jenny, I also envy you! My DD 4 has one more week of preschool, and I can't wait for it to end! We are busy busy here, working with the organizer, trying to keep finding the right home for stuff rather than shuttle it from place to place. I am ready to make a big purge, I think. We had to buy a new sofa (old one infested with mice!!!!), and though it won't be here for 10-12 weeks (!!) it is making me think about making our living room a little bit nice to go along with it. So I'll have to spend some time thinking how to rearrange and get rid of stuff we don't use -- including the good stuff that I would really like to use! Happy M. Day! ![]() Morning all and happyMorning all and happy Memorial Day!!! We are going to the parade this am and then going on a hike with my parents. Not sure if we will take a picnic or what. I got a LOT of gardening done yesterday, including planting two big pots of annuals with DD8. She loved it. I need to get some mulch to finish it off. I'm also in the processing of cleaning the patio cushions in the washer - it seems to be working pretty well, but the stuffing is getting all bunched up. Nice to see you Shaun - I snoop on your blog on a pretty regular basis. Andrea Andrea, you reminded meAndrea, you reminded me about something. I haven't even used my patio cushions in 5 years! LOL! I put them in the garage and never thought about them again. I KNOW the dog would rip them to shreds, maybe when he gets older... Hi Shaun. Ew about the sofa!! I afraid another mouse has snuck in here. Will reset traps today. Spent all day yesterday in Lubbock at SILs. Didn't do any shopping, didn't spend the night or take the camper. Came home to no electricity at about 11pm (due to storms in the area, I guess). Got it back around midnight. There is SO much to do around here! DH is going to do some honeydo's (it's been a few months since he has done anything around the house). Me, lots of laundry, picking up in general (amazing how horrible it gets so quickly!), and finding a mysterious smell in DH's bathroom (the masterbath, but I hate that bathroom and will only use it for the toilet or brush my teeth). Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Pretty lazy day...supposed to go to parade here but kids slept in and I was in no mood to make everyone rush to get there so we puttered around at home. Andrea- hope you enjoyed your town's parade. Do they throw candy out for the kids like they do here? Jenny- my DH actually did trimming today so that is like a honeydo list item here! What was the mysterious smell after all or do I really want to know??? I have a gift card to a clothing store at the mall. I may venture out there this week and get myself some summer outfits. I desperately need some decent tops and shorts, mine are getting kinda lived in since this will be the 3rd summer I have worn them!! I hate clothes shopping for myself but I guess I better go. See ya all in the morning. Heidi RATTLESNAKE!!It's only 6, but I'm calling it a day! LOL! I got done mowing, was walking back to the house via the back yard. And I saw something long and brown in the back yard. At first, I thought it was a stick. Went in the house, and decided to get another look at it from my bedroom window. Nope, it was a snake. I yelled for DH and let him come out to shoot it while I held back the dog and baby. Sure enough, it was a rattlesnake. In the back yard (which is surrounded by a cinderblock wall, but with 15 feet of chainlink on one side). Actually, I think it came in thru the garden area and by the chainlink gate in the back. It had 7 buttons on it. Never found the head, DH blew it off. Yeah, I'm a little freaked out. It was about 6 feet from my bedroom window! TADA: snackin' for dinner tonight. And I think it's Margaritaville time!! Good Morning! Jenny- youGood Morning! Jenny- you mean you didn't make rattlesnake for dinner? LOL Glad it is gone, scary. TADA PODA No subbing today so I guess I better make that trip to the mall while I have the chance. Also get to walk with my neighbor. I haven't walked with her in 2 weeks due to all that subbing.... Heidi Heidi, enjoy shopping! )Heidi, enjoy shopping! This week's zone is the living room, so I think we will work on that some today. I want to get rid of two trash bags of stuff from throughout the house today AND take it to my pit and dump it (that's the hard part. I end up letting it sit in the back of the truck for days). Going to mow the garden, too. Gotta get chicken out for dinner tonight (going to attempt Paula Deens chicken and dumplings, since DH won't be around for dinner. He has weightwatchers tonight). ![]() Tastes like chickenNo really! I have never eaten it, but my cousin has. (We ain't that country, either, but our roots are.) She had it at a restaurant while visiting us in South Dakota. Yikes! ![]() Hey Y'allTADA PODA Well, better get cracking! Battlefront IIJo, did you talk sense into the insurance company? I swear, med. insurance are the worst to deal with! It's way more fun to play PS2 with the kids than to do housework! LOL! All the kids and I have been having a blast playing Star Wars Battlefront II. But, I did manage to do a couple loads of laundry (folded AND put away!), fix dinner, and clean up the kitchen afterwards. It's something. Also had to help DH move machinery around (and will do so again today. He's been plowing like crazy!). It got up to 90 yesterday, and discovered that the AC isn't cooling like it should. Called the AC place and said they would put me on the board (Lord knows when they will actually get out here. I have a good friend that works there, maybe she will move me up on the list if she sees my name on it). Oh, and put away all the Easter baskets. LOL! They had been in my Suburban since Easter in the third seat. Plastic eggs, not real ones. THAT would have been a stench! I'll do that mowing today. A load of laundry is in the washer now. And I'll probably play games some more with the kids. Hey, I'm just a kid at heart! Good Afternoon! TADA morningGood Afternoon! TADA PODA Heidi ![]() HI All- You are a kid atHI All- You are a kid at heart Jenny! That's why you have so much fun while the rest of us are slaving away LOL! Did you do your shopping Heidi? I like Kohl's for clothes for myself and also DH. Hi Shaun! TADA so far: That's about it - DS10 and DH are at baseball and DD is with a friend so I have a few moments here - think I will read my book - See ya! Hi Flyfriends!I missed you girls! Going from 1 toddler and an infant to a toddler and a mobile 1 year old (who wants to do whatever his sister does)has been crazzzyyyyy!!!!!!!! Luke is such a good happy kid but now that he is into everything I am officially the Mom of 2 kids! Sorry I went MIA just not much flying going on here to talk about. Unless you count surviving the day I did try to get back on track today. I miss my am and pm routine. They are definitely the key for me. I also made a long long to do list so maybe I will try to do 1 thing off the list a day. I have been at least getting dressed and out everyday. Waves to everyone, I missed you girls. OK have a great night and I will try to be here more ![]() Hey Jackie! Great to seeHey Jackie! Great to see you - yes you are in survival mode now and that's ok! Hi Jackie! Yes, these areHi Jackie! Yes, these are chaotic times. At least they aren't two tween girls bickering at all times. LOL! Which is my life right now. Andrea, just my quick .02: beef fed solely on grass may be more organic, but you may be losing flavor. Feeding a cow out on a ration of corn and grains in addition to hay/grass is what gives meat a better texture and marbling. I played a little PS2, til DS4 started not playing fair and decided it was funner to kill me (on his team) than accomplish the objectives. So I quit and did some work. Drew and I found a snake (bull snake, non poisonous) right next to the garage, which I took pictures of, shot and killed it, took more pictures. Wanna see the pics? Go to Ah! Ohio!We may be too hot, too cold, too humid, too wet, too dry.... but we don't have ANY venomous (land) snakes!
Hi Flyfriends!Jenny, you cracked me up this am with your snake shooting. I love the pics! Bad start to our day. I am erasing this am and starting over. Luke has an ear infection which has turned him into a cling on to my body. I tried to go food shopping at 8am before Dh left for work but that wasnt happening since Luke wouldnt remove himself from my head. This day has got to get better. Hi Andrea- survival mode is exactly what we are in. I just hope we all actually survive OK quick tada and poda while cling on boy is playing for a minute alone: ![]() HeyWhere'd my post from yesterday go? I have a feeling I forgot to click the "post" button. Blonde moment. (I can say that because I'm blonde) TADA PODA My sons are driving me out of my mind recently. There is wwaayy too much testosterone in our house. Yikes! The state championship track meet is Saturday, and get this-the bus leaves at 5:30am! Thank goodness that will end the season! Jenny, I went camping in the Arizona desert one time and woke up with a rattlesnake sleeping happily at the bottom of my sleeping bag. My dad said he was liking my body heat. He chopped it up with a hatchet and cooked and ate it. Dad's kind of a mountain man. See ya, Good Morning! Hi Jo andGood Morning! Hi Jo and Jackie, thanks for checking in. TADA PODA 3 days of school left for us!! We are so ready... Heidi I spent the day yesterdayI spent the day yesterday working on the boys' room. Took down the crib and changing table. Yes, I know he is still a baby, but never used the crib anyway. Took apart the bunkbeds to make two twin beds instead. I'm trying hard not to think about it too hard, or I'll burst into tears. Town day. Almost out of milk, bread, juice, and yogurts. DH is caught up and we will probably all just go together. EDIT FOR UPDATE: Can't go anywhere yet anyway because DH just had to go run an ambulance call. He will be a couple hours going to the village to get the ambulance, going to the guys house, taking him to town to the hospital, returning the ambulance, filling out the run sheet, etc. ![]() Awww....I bet the room looks good though! I worked in my office with the organizer -- I have tons to put away still, but my desk looks great! I can't believe how long you've done without going out! I need to do that too. What do you say, new thread for June tomorrow? Good Morning! TADA morningGood Morning! TADA PODA 2 and a half days til summer!!! Heidi Hi Flyfriends!Yucky, rainy day here. Kind of glad since I stayed in and actually accomplished something while the kiddos played. Except everything I do they mess up behind me Go Jenny on taking apart the crib. Believe it or not Alexa is still in her crib. She hasn't climbed out yet, so I am keeping her contained as long as possible. She loves it- she Thank goodness is a good sleeper. All her craziness during the day knocks her out OK gotta be quick- have to work 3pm to 9pm- Dh should be here any second Post new comment |
