Note to Self: One Melatonin Good, Two Melatonin Not Good

I took two 1 mg melatonin tablets last night in hopes of helping my sleep; I've heard people talk about doses anywhere from 1/2 mg to 10 mg. While I did get to sleep I had trouble staying asleep; I had dreams weird enough to verge on the nightmarish. Known side effect. So tonight I'm back to 1 mg. I feel like crap today, though I can't say whether it's the sleep issue.

Melatonin

I don't have good success with Melatonin either but have found another natural product that works great for me. I don't feel groggy in the morning and I relax and sleep well. It's a combination of natural herbs that help with sleep/relaxation. http://www.vitabase.com/supplements/stress-relaxation/healthysleepsuppor... Give it a try sometime.

That appears to be the active ingredient in that compound, and I've taken that under the care of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. It does work.

Melatonin, ugh!

Count me in as another who can't use Melatonin without nightmares. When I can't sleep, I just get online and look for recipes. After awhile, that wears me out and puts me to sleep. Eye-wink

anecdotal

I had a lady email me a couple of days ago who'd bought an eye massager from us for dark circles. It didn't sit quite right on her (it's the cheaper model) but it did touch at the bridge of the nose. It hadn't done anything for her dark circles but she said it cured her insomnia. It's not what it says on the box but somehow I guess either the general relaxation of the massage or else the specific of it being on the bridge of her nose has somehow helped. Don't know whether anyone can make use of that, but I thought I'd throw it in. I can't imagine how anyone copes with a normal day when they have long-term insomnia so if someone says something works for them I'm only too happy to spread it around in case it works for even one other person.

I won't post our site here - wouldn't work anyway because of the IP redirect. There are plenty of eye massagers out there to try, but please note that this wasn't one of those cooling gel filled type but an electric massager for the eyes.
