A Confession

This is a tough thing for me to come out with. I mean, it runs so counter to what some of you might expect from me. But it's true, and I really need to come clean.

You see, I...I...boy this is hard...I love Dancing with the Stars. There. I said it. Oh that's a weight off my chest.

Now that I'm out, I'm going to start live-blogging it. After all it could be worse; I could have confessed to loving "The Bachelor." Follow me:

--When I first saw Ian I thought he was going to win it. Now I think he'll be lucky to make it to the final three. He just can't sell it. His steps are competent and Cheryl makes anyone look good, but it's not happening.

--I'm happy to see Laila make a big comeback. I have a total girl crush on her. My God she's gorgeous, and how cute is her fiance?

--When when when will Clyde get voted off?? He's just too tall to dance with Elena and ends up walking instead of dancing. I can't bear to watch him.

--How cute was John Ratzenberger in his kilt! He's totally off the show, and soon, but I love him.

--Joey Fatone wasn't as good as last week but he sure knows how to sell it. He could win this.

--Heather Mills is a great second-tier dancer. What she can do with that leg is amazing. She won't win, but I'm fully expecting she'll use this show as a springboard to a life in the US, since I hear she's not exactly the most popular person in the UK and most folks here don't know who she is other than as a dancer on "DwtS." And hey, she finally fell. Happy now, "leg" watchers?

--Apolo got a perfect score!! yay!!! He's very lucky in his partner; Julianne is a perfect match for him and I cannot believe what a good dancer he turned out to be. He could win this thing.

--And finally, Billy Ray, bless his heart. He tries so hard, and poor Karina gets so frustrated. I mean, last time she had Mario Lopez and this must be a real challenge for her. Every time Billy Ray dances I'm happy when he does well because it's so obviously hard for him. But it's just not there tonight.

So who's going to get voted off: I'm expecting Clyde, but it might be Ratzie. Billy Ray still has all the Hanna Montana fans. Eye-wink My predictions for the final three are Laila, Apolo and Joey, with Apolo and Joey going to the final two. At that point it's a toss-up.

I TOTALLY needed the laugh tonight, thanks for the funny run up.

And NEVER be afrain to own your love of things cheesy. I wear my love for John Denver on my sleeve and I am not ashamed.

I don't watch it (American Idol here). But reading what you are saying: How can you say Billy Ray has to try really hard! LOL! He's a natural! Haven't you ever heard of The Achy Breaky? Oh, I miss high school when my best friend and I were the only two that knew the dance because her mom took us to the bar where they were teaching it one day. LOL!

I just had to tease about that. Don't break my heart, my achy breaky heart...

But I have a confession too:
I love Hannah Montana! LOL!

you would think!

When the show started, I thought, hey, Billy Ray, he'll do fine, he danced as part of his act. But apparently the Achy Breaky is too far removed from the ballroom, because he's really had to struggle, poor guy. He jokes about his Achy Breaky Butt on the show all the time.

my confession

I actually know what you're all talking about for once, and I find that terrifying!

nothing wrong with John Denver either - my kids are thoroughly indoctrinated. And Billy Ray Cyrus has to be good eye candy, whatever his moves are like! I saw him in some drama recently I think (could be really old in the US) - I watched it just for him. He has a lovely smile! Smiling

and I feel that Ms Heather has had a raw deal over here. I have no idea what happened between them but I would've expected Sir P to be very gentlemanly and protective. It's horrible that this has gone wrong for them after all they went throught to get married, and worse still that people are being so spiteful. She must be pretty tough I reckon, at least on the outside. The prosthetic limb association (or whatever it was here) ... I was gonna say they were up in arms, but I really can't... they kicked up a fuss?? As if she was doing this programme specifically to spite all other people with prosthetic limbs! Why not for herself.

now i know it's late when I engage in this kind of gossip. We have new programmes here now for choosing the lead singers in Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals - first the Sound of Music (as rewritten by him) and now Joseph. It can be quite interesting, though I don't follow it that avidly and I certainly don't vote. I thik I voted once for a Pop Idol, to Dh's shock.

confessional is now closed for me!

Kerri.

*shiver, ugh*

We had a similar show here called "You're the One that I Want," where people picked the new leads for a revival of "Grease." whatever, I didn't watch it. I'm picky about my cheesy reality TV. Eye-wink

As for Mills, she's definitely doing it for herself and why not. America is the land of re-invention. Just ask Sarah Ferguson. And Mills is showing that losing a limb is not the end of your life. You can do some pretty amazing things with a prosthetic limb these days, and a lot of folks--especially newly injured folks--need to see that. Sadly, the first newly injured folks that come to mind are our kids at Walter Reed. Sad

My secret...

Ok, I hate (HATE I SAY!) so-called reality tv. If that's reality, it really DOES bite. Actually, I do like "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe. It is funny to watch him try to be "clean" in some of his jokes. I also like "Mythbusters". Those guys are insane.

Anywhoo... My dark secret is that I love music. Oh no, you do not understand.... I'm in my early 20s, so one would think I'm into rap or pop or something. Sure, I like some of the new music... but I LOVE John Denver, The Carpenters, ABBA, Billie Holliday, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline... I know so many of their songs by heart.

Oh, and don't get me started on Glenn Miller!

I guess that isn't that bad. But really, how many 25y/o confess to a love of The Andrews Sisters and that they love recordings of music from the 19-teens?

OMG ABBA totally rocks

Submitted by Anhata on Fri, 04/27/2007 - 12:36am.

Patsy Cline is a Goddess, so is Billie Holiday, Johnny Cash will ALWAYS and forever be cool, and my heart belongs to John Denver.

I'm so with you on this!

I also love Big Band music, bluegrass, Dolly Parton, Peggy Lee, Jimmie Rodgers, Neil Sedaka, Motown, The Beach Boys--rock of all kinds. I'm sorry but I never did take to Manilow. I think he's a nice guy, but I never got his music. I'm crazy into Celtic music both traditional and modern, love groove music, Jimmy Buffet, Kid Rock...I could go on and on!

I'm in my mid-thirties and I don't know anymore what kind of music I'm "supposed" to be listening to. So I listen to as much as I can.
