Phew!
What a day! I'd planned to take the whole day off, so after I spent an hour or two in the office, I started cleaning for the holiday. The living room now looks somewhat decent -- I love the smell of Murphy's Oil Soap, and everything was covered with wood smoke. Now it's all shiny and clean.
And finally reclaimed the coffee table, which perhaps someone let the kids use as a painting table. Lots of hot water got most of the paint off, along with a green scouring pad. You know and I know that they'll want to paint there again, and I'll let them, especially if it'll buy half an hour of quiet and I'm on deadline, but at least for the moment I've got a normal looking coffee table.
Did 5 loads of laundry. Made macaroni and cheese, which was good despite the mysterious lack of 1/2 pound of cheddar that was supposed to go into the sauce. I was going to ask Tim about the lost cheese, but he'd conveniently had to work in the garage.
Pinned the quilt and sewed around 5 of the 4X6 in blocks. Only 103 left to go. First camping event is Memorial Day weekend, so I'd better get cracking.
I cleaned so much that I physically ache with it. It feels good: at least until I get into bed and discover how stiff I am! Ten hours a day at the desk has its drawbacks.
