Meta: Software Update Underway

Hang on tight, kids! I'm updating the software for the site and it's going to be weird, probably through Sunday. I'm adding some new features (to be announced--we'll see what works), upgrading some that haven't been working right (weblinks and image galleries, for instance), and getting rid of some features that never really got used.
Hold tight and wish me luck!

bread machine failure
I owned a west bend bread machine for about 15 years.I baked every kind of bread imaginable. I loved that machine!I went through probably 10 bread pans, finally discovering that if you spray the pan every time you use it, it will prolong the life of the pan.I finally wore out my last pan right before Christmas then to discover I couln't get ahold of west bend to get a new pan. My husband bought me a "breadman corner bakery" for Christmas. I hate it. I have baked about 10 loaves at least and even the "honey oatmeal" recipe I tried out of the breadman cookbook makes a horrible loaf. They are either short and dense or they collapse in the center. I have fresh yeast, I don;t open the lid, etc. etc. I am about to start going back to the store. To compound the problem, I prefer a healthy bread. So I try to use 1/2 white and 1/2 wheat. I had a favorite recipe I used for probably 5 years with the west bend, but it won;t work either. If I had not had so much success with the west bend I would think it was me, but then I read all those glowing reports about the breadman and I don't know what to think. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.brakod
