For my step-mom

Just heard this morning that my step-mom is in the hospital as a result of some pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lungs). We don't know a lot -- at least, my dad doesn't seem to know a lot, except that she is very ill and no one wants to say what will happen next. We know that she will probably be in the hospital until close to Christmas or beyond, even in the best case.
So, kind of a yucky Christmas for my dad, who will be all alone, my step-mom, who will be in the hospital, and my little sister's family, who was planning to have them visit. If you can spare some positive vibes for them over the next few days (that would be Cindy and Doug), that would be lovely.

I hope they can clear the pe's.
thinking of you all Shaun
and it always seems worse at this time of year somehow, but it brings my own Christmas into sharp perspective - it'll make me think even more carefully about what's important.
fingers crossed you all have good news for Christmas.
Kerri.
Very sorry, Shaun! Hope she
Very sorry, Shaun! Hope she gets better soon.
Along the same lines: My mom called me this morning with news that my stepfather was having chest pains yesterday. Given his family's history with heart disease, the hospital admitted him and they will do a procedure tomorrow to check for blockage and possibly put in stints. Not as bad as Shaun's stepmom, but if you could add him to your thoughts as well.
Sending positive energy your way
Why does it seem that this stuff happens in clusters around the holidays?
