Temporarily Out of Stock

a phrase I used often this past week, the last week of my temp job taking phone orders for a mail order catalog.

Also, I feel temporarily out-of-it because I've been three weeks away from my usual haunts, routine, and habits.

The commute was something else altogether. I'd leave the house at 8:20 am to get to work by 10:30, then leave work at 7:00 and get home at 9:00 pm. By the time I got home I was too tired to do anything but the most basic stuff...eat dinner, read DD a book and tuck her into bed, talk to DH for a bit...then to bed.

But overall, the work was good. Paid well for what it was, the company and customers are all good. And I got lots knitted during the ride on the light rail. All I've got left to knit is the felted coaster set for my brother and to finish the poncho for my aunt.

Not entirely sure if I'm going to be able to get the coasters done. I may have to send a photo of them in a gift wrapped box.

I just finished the hat for my sister in law that I made out of my own handspun yarn. I'm afraid that the homespun look is going to be too funky, it's got a bit of the thick/thin stuff going on, so that she may not like it. I'll tell her if she doesn't, send it back, I'll make her another in the yarn of her choice.

Onto the coasters, then a big roundup on the poncho. I've gotten cute and am making my own tags in my desktop publishing program and printing them on cardstock to go with the gifts, telling about the yarn and how to wash the thing.

Character building!

isn't that the phrase often used about those awful jobs you just have to stick out?? I'm in one too, but I'm the second-in-command so I'm probably stuck for quite a bit longer.

Nice to see you finding the good in an unpleasant situation - well done on all that knitting!

Kerri.

Thanks!

Ripped through the coasters and knitted a trivet to match for brother last night. Did the four coasters while watching "How to lose a guy in 10 days", mega easy. Felted them, dried them, and sent them off in today's mail.

Only holiday knitting left is for my auntie, hope to get that out tomorrow, we'll see.
