I've got a temp job, contigent on passing background checks, at a call center for a catalog company.
I'll be spending an insane amount of time on the light rail train to and from work, but the plus side on that is that I'll undoubtedly get all my holiday knitting done that way.
It's four days a week, it's going to be nuts because the hours aren't regular 9-5, but we'll manage, of course.
I don't know how I'll handle not spending time with DD after school on those days, or how she'll handle it, either. Yesterday we had the best time after she came home from school. She decided her new doll, Elizabeth, [1] that she got with her birthday money, needed toys so we went through her things and found half a dozen tiny toys for her, then I dug out the doll sized ceramic tea set I'd gotten ages ago. So, of course, we set up a tea party. All this while I'm making dinner mind you, but it was so fun. DD was so pleased.
And today is "share" day at school, so she took Elizabeth. She was sooooo excited, she told everyone she she met on the way inside, in the halway, in the classroom, that she was sharing her doll today. I hope it went well, she was so looking forward to it.
This temp job will ease a little bit of the financial pressure we're under, take us through the holidays, anyway.
For once, I appear to have interviewed well!
