UFO -- another baby cardi

Here's a tiny picture of what I'm knitting (from the pattern):
I'm knitting it in blue, and the yarn (Snuggly Bubbly) is very challenging for a novice knitter like me to work with, what with the lumps and bumps:

But I do think it will be cute when I'm done. I'm doing it in a light french blue with a green border in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino. (oooh! soft!)

Argh! Another crushing blow
An update: my UFO is even more U now.
On the left front that I just finished so beautifully, I realized that I forgot to switch needles after finishing the ribbing. Argh!! Major rip-out ahead.

I feel your pain
I finished my niece's headband and was raring to go and tackle the next gift item on the list when I realized the thing was just too darn wide. Had to rip the whole thing back down and start over. I'm 2/3 done now, but how I wish I hadn't lost the knitting time...
If you like the pattern I recommend, if you're using aran weight yarn and size 8 needles, only cast on 30 stitches and decrease to 24 stiches for the forehead part. It's just too wide for anyone but Hagrid. The instructions give a yarn type that is "smooth worsted weight" and I thought I had the gauge right, but it just didn't work.
