Found it!

My teapot, that is. Have been looking for it ever since we moved to Oregon, finally found the box it was packed in.

But now that I'm using it I realize I'd forgotten that a)it's on the smallish size, only makes about two and a half teacups at a time and b) how delicate it is, I'm afraid I'm going to chip, crack, or break it.

It matches my Universal Ballerina stoneware set, the Comde Rose pattern, but I think I'm going to have to get a larger, sturdier teapot for everyday use.

Cause I read at one tea website the new studies show drinking tea is ridiculously healthy for you. I personally enjoy white tea, jasmine tea, assam tea, and chai.

Were I French, I'd have a different teapot for each type so that the flavors don't get polluted. But I'm not French and I don't have the space anyway until my new china cabinet gets finished and put in the dining room. After that, I may start speaking with a Pepe LePeu accent and aquiring some more pots.

Mon cherie, is it destined zat we are to fraternize?

Hata and I racked off the dandelion wine/tonic we made this spring from the carboy into bottles. Do I need to tell you she was the siphoner?

it's dangerous stuff and the effects may be permanent! Laughing out loud

I don't think the French are really the right example for tea drinking, although perhaps for the fussiness. My tea favourites (other than strong English breakfast with milk, no sugar which I drink every morning) are green tea with lemon and Earl Grey.

Anhata, I'd love to send you my teapot - it was given to my by my cousin (she was given two as wedding presents) and it probably takes about 10 cups, so it mostly just gathers dust on my kitchen windowsill. I just cleaned it yesterday. If I was nearer I'd pop round to Lynn's for the porridge and give you the dratted teapot! Sticking out tongue

I just mention the French and tea because I was given a book written by the curator of the Museum of Tea in France and it explains exactly how bug-nuts the French are about tea...I had no idea.

The thing that stuck in my head was the different tea pots for each kind of tea...growing up we had two kinds of tea, Lipton and instant Lipton. It was usually served in a large Tupperware pitcher with ice cubes. I never did take to that stuff.

I actually agree with the seperate-pot-for-each-kind-of-tea, especially with the white tea I brew, it's very delicate in flavor, using it in the same pot I make chai in could indeed affect the flavor. I just marvel that anyone has that kind of counter or shelf space.

All eez love in fair and war.
