Hi All Heidi I've spent the past coupleI've spent the past couple of days finally getting caught up on laundry. Whew! Paid some bills, did some weeding in a flowerbed today, helped dh with a broke down tractor (well, the front end loader/bulldozer). Moved some furniture. You know, every day things! DH let the kids stay up later than usual on Sunday and DS4 was hell to wake up Monday! We did go to a volleyball game last night, but we were home before 9. Time to run! Awesome Heidi! SometimesAwesome Heidi! Sometimes things work, don't they?! Jenny, wow you got a lot done! I've been cleaning out my beds for fall. DH made Italian Sausage in a tomato sauce or dinner with penne and salad, yum. I vacuumed the floor, it is getting harder to keep clean for some reason. Laundry is done. PODA DD's shoes still fit so no need to buy new ones yet,saves me some time and $ too. We are going to a wedding this weekend,hopefully it won't snow! there have been rumors floating around that we may get some snow already....yikes! Heidi Heidi, SNOW!? It's tooHeidi, SNOW!? It's too early for snow!! We haven't even had a frost here yet!! Jamie Lea is off visiting family in South Carolina. Haven't heard from the others in a while, though. Shoes. Ugh. Chance has outgrown his sneakers AND his boots. Think I'll take him up to Joe's Boot Shop tomorrow and get him a new pair. He has grown about 5 inches this year. All his jeans (except his Wranglers) are all the sudden too short. Looks like he is wearing capris. LOL! The girls both need dress shoes for church, too. I finished rearranging most of the furniture in the "office" yesterday and got it picked up and vacuumed. Soccer practice tonight. Then MIL is meeting me in town to take the girls to a play, then they will spend the night. I will need to go to grocery store tonight. Tomorrow morning a cousin is supposed to drop off her dog for us to dogsit while they go to the Cowboy Symposium in Ruidoso. Practice tomorrow, games (and pictures) on Saturday.  Oh come on!Since Hope's not around and Rose and Jo haven't weighed in, I have to be the curmudgeonly northerner. It poured down snow here yesterday and has snowed again today! That's what October is all about, right?! Mucked out the girls room and got the bunk beds set up. Crib is still up -- which is good. DD3 keeps sneaking out of bed, so I pop her in the crib for the night! She tells me tonight she will stay in bed all night. I hope so -- Saturday BIL is coming to pick up the crib for their baby! (Due in Jan.) Better get some stuff done while DDs are occupied! SNOW?!?!?!!?The kids are still wearing shorts here! sheesh. Although it's cooler here today (47 right now) but we still have 70's in store for the next few days. Snow in OhioYep! The forecastor's were right. I'ts snowed most of the afternoon. Lots of the little white stuff in the air but none on the ground, thank goodness! We don't tend to freak, though, because next week it may be back in the 70's! Great to hear from you Shaun! Heidi, I check Jamie Lea's Xanga blog every now and then. Haven't heard from Jackie or Vonnie though. Didn't Jackie have a Flickr site or something with pictures? Well, DD is in tears b/c I trimmed her hair! It was really uneven in the back - she has been growing it for 3 years! She's been crying for about an hour! Help! I put her in front of her favorite TV show with a cookie and milk. I only trimmed a half inch or so. OK, not much about flying, sorry!  It smells like snow here :)My fellow Northeasters know what I mean. There's a faint smell in the air when it's about to snow. And I think I saw a flake when I was walking the dog this evening. I know what you meanFortunately I don't have to experience it! Tomorrow we're bringing the cats to get their shots and baths. That will be my big achievement of the day! We get snow here (well,We get snow here (well, except for last year, which is VERY rare, but we didn't get rain either). Just not this early in the year. LOL! I managed to get everything done. Even brought home 5 kittens. Which are still in the box in the truck. Need to bring them in the garage and feed them (1 is bottle fed). These are all barn cats. We have an elderly friend whose house seems to be cat central. They just plop their butts there and have kittens. So I'm the person she calls to take them now (it was my MIL, but she said no more). Came home and found a horse out. Checked the gates and they were closed. I don't think he could jump out (he is pretty old. I expect to find him dead any day now. He's about 27 I think). So I'll have to check fence tomorrow and see if there is a break somewhere. No flying, just most the day driving. LOL! I ditched C-town plansI ditched C-town plans yesterday. I can do it next week. Had practice last night for one kid. Today is game day. Both the girls have soccer games (1 and 2:30), then back to the school for a few volleyball games (last reg. season game. next week begins district tournament). how'd the games go?The cats were, of course, badly behaved and a disgrace to felinity, but at least now they are clean and vaccinated. They wore us out though for real! So far today all I've managed are my morning routine and fixing breakfast, and it's 1:30 now. I need to take my kitty to get his nails clipped - I can't do it. Gosh Jenny, you are busy with stuff. I'm glad DD7's soccer is over for now. We are more relaxed lately since DS9 stopped Scouting. He is really not in anyting now, just loves to play with his buddies. DD7 is only in Brownies and is playing the violin. So life is much more manageable than it has been in the past. Well, many chores were done today and many errands were run. I won't go through the list. Also had an early breakfast with a friend and a cut and color for me. DH took me 2 hours into Texas to buy me (our family) a new puppy! He is DARN CUTE! A German Shepherd. We named him Tex. Need to do some vacuuming today, picking up, bathrooms, dusting, laundry. Also need to clean up the garage, patio, and clean out the fireplace. Won't be long before we need it. Probably not this week (lows in the mid 30s-upper 40's). I'm off to get DD in bed. have you two been taking vitamin D?I read that mid-October to mid-April, people in northern climates should take vitamin D because the sun never gets high enough to provide you with it. I got enough done yesterday that the house looked somewhat together. We had unexpected company last night, a friend bringing over some clothes her daughter had outgrown. It will be at least 2 years before my oldest is in them. But I was stoked that they noticed how good my house smelled (Bath and Body Works plug in thingies. Cinnamon something or other. Yummy! They thought I was baking an apple pie!). Tex (the puppy) is adjusting well, he is having fun playing with the kids and the kittens. I had fun taking pictures yesterday of him. Today I haven't decided what I'm going to do. Washing sheets from my bed right now. I was debating going to the grocery store and running some errands. I'm anxious to buy my puppy some toys and things. I hate to make it an extra trip to town, but I really dread taking Chance to Walmart. His daddy has him so spoiled, he thinks he has to have something every time we go in there. Though he does need new sneakers and boots (and the girls both need new Sunday shoes). Jenny may remember me...I'm the one with cattle near Clovis. Anyway, I work full-time, founded and run a nonprofit dog rescue, am starting my second nonprofit, and have seven small dogs of my own!! LOL! A year ago we sold our small house and bought a big house. And now I find that I struggle HORRIBLY with keeping everything up! Ugh, and I spend a lot of time kicking my hiney over it!! Time to read the flylady book again for sure!! Anyway, its nice to see some familiar names! Hi!I remember you -- I remember the screen name Cooper anyway. Welcome back. A bit o'flying today -- got the DW loaded up and running right after dinner. Got the DR roomba'd. I think DD7 and I are going to sit down and make a cleaning schedule -- some task for each of us to do for 15 minutes or so every morning. Like, she can dust while I sort papers, or she can sort socks while I sweep the hall, or one of us can mop while the other picks up for the Roomba. I get some Christmas shopping done. AND kettle corn!), three soccer games (1 for dd7, two for dd9), race home to put on halloween costumes, go to the school for the Junior Carnival (annual thing the junior class does for prom money. booths, games, cake walk, bingo, auction and more food). Busy day. LOL! Happy birthday Jenny!TADA for today and yesterday: Many many errands. At some point today though, I really need to get my butt in gear on the laundry. Again. Grumpy Day*Everyone* seemed out of sorts today. Not sure what's in the air. Mostly worked and organized in my office to find a spot for the light box, and made a dinner that both of my children pronounced "disgusting." Well then . . . Jenny, is it your birthday? Jenny, I got the Pumpkin Delight lotion or whatever - very scented - may be too much for my skin. Of course they tried to sell me everything else in the store!
