What to Do with All Those Stuffed Toys

Send them to Iraq. No, seriously. There's a gal stationed there with the US Army Corps of Engineers who gives out as much candy and stuffed toys as she can scrape together, usually ordered from Oriental Trading Company out of her own pocket. If you've got some stuffies you could send her, some little kids in Iraq would love you for it.

Also, thanks for linking the info about Charka spinning wheels for Africa on your www.knitting911.net site. I'm seriously trying to brainstorm on how to help these two efforts. Has the info about the Charkas gone out to your fiber email group?

Is the APO address still valid?

As of October, Mayers was still recieving toys, does anyone know if she's still deployed and the address is still valid? I poked around at ParentHacker and didn't find anything...

Our Social Action Team would like to do this as a Mission Moment one Sunday soon, but I need to be sure the info is current...

Did what you said, she replied IMMEDIATELY, and, yes, Ms. Mayers is still deployed and accepting stuffed animals and candy for the kids as of Dec. 28, 2006.

The photos on that blog bring tears to my eyes.
