![]() not as nerdy as you think.Though I laughed at a lot of questions some of you will be going "huh?" at. And my response to the answers to the picture of the girl? "Give her a break, maybe she's Romulan!" Lynn Siprelle, Editor ![]() mmm, not alwaysIt isn't included in Red Hat Enterprise, for instance. I betcha I can find the source code though...Aha! It is a handy lil critter and I've missed having it on my boxen, so I'll probably compile this puppy myself. Lynn Siprelle, Editor ![]() Supreme Nerd!I think I get extra nerd points for being married to a SysAdmin/all around Nerd King. I know stuff that I probably shouldn't! Also, Becky, how can you know what Lynx is and only be lightly nerdy? mid-ninetiesIn college, when the internet was much slower and our university servers were often clogged, lynx was sometimes the only way I could read the content of a website. We'd log in to the Sun machine, type netscape or lynx, hit return, and that was how we got to webpages. Half-nerdy!...but I get it from my "better half!" ...and we prefer the term "geeky!" Blessings, ![]() Here's my DH's score:Now, my level is....drumroll... I don't despise nerds, I'm married to one. I think some of the questions were skewed...I have no opinion on some of those questions!!! (or didn't know what they were talking about...cause...I'm not a nerd) I AM a scifi geek and I can prove it: Ha ha! Except DH is more of a scifi geek than I am: But he cheated and googled some of the questions! ![]() Speaking of TrekThey're redoing the special fx on original Trek episodes and re-releasing them. weeeird. Lynn Siprelle, Editor ![]() I don't know if I can handle this!CGI effects in The Original Series? Can it possibly be done without being groaningly bad like the junk done to Star Wars Episodes 4 through 6? New music? But I LOVE the cheesy dunt-duh-duh-DUNT music of TOS. I'm going to wait and see, but I don't have a good feeling about this. An aside: I remember hearing that when one episode of TOS was digitally remastered some funny stuff showed up, like coffee stains on crewmembers shirts. The old cameras and film didn't pick that stuff up so the costume department would let things like that slide. When digitally remastered, Spock's shirt was dirty, they had to clean it up on the computer. This was done for the special effect of putting the DS9 crew onto TOS Enterprise and K-7 Space Station in the DS9 episode Trials and Tribble-ations. Anhata why wouldn't the crewmembers' shirts have coffee stains? They drink coffee on the Enterprise. Who's to say that detergent gets any better in the future? The old music was great. I don't see any reason for new. Although I'm always happy to hear about a composer getting work! Science helped meNot so much a computer nerd as a teensy bit of a science nerd, and always a general knowledge nerd (knew the manganese question!). However I lost it completely when you lot started talking about Lynx (heard of it, but wouldn't really know what it was), and start getting super-Trekkie. I never got past the Next Generation thanks to Singapore showing it at 1am and never showing DS9. Don't think there'd be much point in me taking the Star Trek test! Kerri. Post new comment |
