TADA:
exercised
dw emptied
laundry going
breakfast made for kids

PODA:
finish laundry
work on DD7's room
clear out one bookshelf in playroom
maybe mop one floor??

good morning!!

Submitted by Becky on Mon, 08/21/2006 - 8:00am.

Thank you for the new thread Andrea.

Today is DH's first day at his new teaching job, though it's just meetings for the first two weeks. In fact he should be starting his first meeting right about now. Tomorrow is my first day back at school, so I am savoring my last blissful day at home. Fortunately I am getting close to my second trimester, and the big heatwave is over, so my energy level is much closer to normal than it has been.

Anyhow, PODA:

-actually get up and do that pesky morning routine
-a bunch of desk chores which I have been putting off for weeks
-laundry
-dishes (did I mention I really HATE not having a dishwasher?)
-get groceries
-take out trash

If I feel really ambitious I might also vacuum, but I don't want to make any unrealistic promises!

Glad you're feeling a bit better Becky! I think today is Susannah's DH's first day of teaching too at the new place.

Well, I got quite a bit done this am and am now off to the city. DD7's room is almost sorted through, now we are switching them -

The kids went back to school

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 08/21/2006 - 11:57am.

The kids went back to school today! DS3 was so excited, he didn't even say goodbye to me, though he did to daddy. He was off to explore the classroom and eat breakfast (they are serving the whole school free breakfasts this year. I will still feed my kids at home and let them have the school breakfast if they want to). I was a little sad, some other kids were bawling, but not him. LOL!

Afterwards, DH and I went to town and had breakfast (love Huevos Rancheros!), stopped by Walmart, then checked rain gauges at various fields. Back home now and just relaxing. Tomorrow I'll work. Today I'm lazy.

Sounds nice Jenny - free

Sounds nice Jenny - free breakfast - how great!! I would take advantage of it.

Well, my mammogram was clear the second time around, TG. Now on to DD/s neuro. appt. tomorrow. I'm not anticipating much. Meanwhile, her room is in transition. Working on that in the am.

Good Morning!

Andrea-glad the mammo is clear. DD's bedroom move is into the larger guest room correct? Did you go with a certain theme or color palette in there?

Becky-hope DH first day went well and that your first day back goes well too.

Jenny-I don't think that I will be sad when DD starts Kindergarten but who knows, will see next week.

My dad and stepmom were here for a few days and are leaving this morning. We had a great visit, lots of laughs, hate for them to leave,as always. But we will drive down over Christmas Break as usual.

read paper
LOTS of laundry
general tidying

MOrning Everyone!

Yes Heidi, she moved into the GR, which is quite a bit larger. No built in shelves in there though. The beds are moved, but now we have to move all the stuff - thus the decluttering!

Glad you had a nice visit with your Dad and stepmom.

Well, I'm off to exercise - see ya later -

Just peeking in while on vacation -- at a coffeeshop with WiFi.

Glad all is well Andrea!

Enjoy the back-to-school, Jenny! DD7 is a little sad that she is not part of the big back-to-school push this year.

Good luck to you and DH, Becky!

And good luck on that big PODA, Heidi!

Heidi, can't wait to hear

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 08/22/2006 - 2:27pm.

Heidi, can't wait to hear how you do tomorrow!

Second day of school, and Chance got a "Super Day" note! Very proud of him!

I managed to tear up the house. Been rearranging some things and cleaning my desk, but Drew has had a fever all day (teething) and has been very clingy, so I can't get anything done (and have you tried having a 25 pound baby in a sling in the middle of summer? Doesn't work). So most of today is a big nothing. Better luck tomorrow.

Yes, hope all goes smoothly Heidi -

Good for Chance Jenny! Hope you will get some more done tomorrow. It will certainly be a change of pace for you to have some quiet(er) time. Hopefully Drew will start doing some long naps.

Well, DD7's neuro. appointment went well. They are leaning towards thinking she just passed out and had a seizure as a result of that as opposed to a "real" seizure. So it's wait and see for now, but nothing more we have to do.

Got a lot of room switching done and also visited a neighbor with a new baby - cute.

See ya -

Hi Ladies

Submitted by LoisDenominator on Tue, 08/22/2006 - 9:36pm.

Hi Ladies. I've been busy and out of town a lot lately.

Andrea, glad to hear the ma'am-o-gram was normal. I am due to get one. Ugh. And glad to hear DD is doing well.

I thought this year would be the first that I wouldn't have a child going back to school -- but my DS24 decided to return to college fulltime.

Jenny, how can Chance be in school already? I remember him being born, for heaven's sake!

Submitted by Andrea on Wed, 08/23/2006 - 3:23pm.

That's great Heidi! Can't believe your DS is in middle school. I am two years away from that.

I have a grumpy family tonite. Dinner is done and dishes are done. DS is chilling in front of baseball and DD is working on her room with Dad. And here I sit. I have an all-day training tomorrow in the city. I hope it is good, but I don't relish the thought of a day away. I finally got the childcare figured out a couple hours ago! It is on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports - a schoolwide behavior program we are considering.

Have a good nite all -

Middle School

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 08/23/2006 - 7:32pm.

Wow! Our kids are all growing up so fast!! DD9 will be in middle school next year (ours starts in 5th grade on the other side of the school. You have to go by the gyms and thru the high school hall to get to the middle school section). But Jr. High sports don't start til 7th grade.

Chance had another Super Day today. Then we went to the fair where he and DD7 both participated in the greased pig chase (and came nowhere near to getting it, but had fun anyway). Pizza Slut for dinner, Walmart for groceries, and home. Drew has had a fever off and on for a couple of days due to a tooth trying to emerge. Not much flying. We did have fun watching the cows and horses figure out where the new hot wire fence is in front of the house. The dog found it too, with his nose. LOL! He yelped for a full minute and ran to the other side of the yard. Yup, that's how I get my kicks. We turned the cows and horses loose in front of the house to eat down the weeds. Drew thinks it funny to have horses right out the window.

flat-out exhausted

Submitted by Becky on Sat, 08/26/2006 - 7:42am.

The last four days, nothing but school. So today I have to try and put the house back together. Dishes, laundry, trash, and catbox are the first priority. Also I have some shopping to do. Fortunately since we weren't really home much, we didn't have the chance to mess the place up TOO badly.

Andrea, I'm glad your mammogram was clear!

Thanks Becky - it was a relief.

Hope you get rested up and get your chores done!

You meany Jenny Eye-wink - your poor puppy!
Tired here, some friends came over last nite after dinner for wine and good conversation and I ended up staying up way too late. I did get some stuff done today though - cleaned out a closet in what is now DD7's room and moved the clothes elsewhere. Laundry, some shopping.

We are off to eat Chinese food now - yum.

put away 1 load laundry
do something fun indoors with kids(pouring rain today)
not much else...
dinner
bath for DD

Lazy day I guess

Andrea-Chinese food is our favorite here

Hi All!!!

Kids swam in pool yesterday and we will probably take it down over Labor Day weekend,so probably one more time for them until next summer.

Two meetings this week in the evenings so need to have dinner made early a couple nights and make sure of babysitting arrangements...

DD first day of K is on Tuesday and I will spend it doing more paid organizing for my mom's friend. She is so distractible with her phone ringing and her pets that it takes awhile to see any progress, but we are getting there slowly....

Off to be creative with my kids...any suggestions???

HI All - My brain is low in

Submitted by Andrea on Sun, 08/27/2006 - 8:39am.

HI All -

My brain is low in that area right now too Heidi! I've been giving them chores (for a little $) - they seem to like that. The Chinese was good, but not good for my diet. Do you have one of the blue pools - that is what we have. rain here too, yuk.

Well, so far:

dw
laundry
church
Tim Hortons for coffee
washed baseboards upstairs - DH did down
this and that!

PODA:
walk
maybe change LR around
finish laundry

DS9 just got home from a Bills preseason game with more laundry. He had fun I guess - camped in a big RV at the stadium.

See ya -
