fun activities to do with your kids

My eight-year-old son and I have been busying ourselves with this project. We're trying to make some bird feeders for some of his hummingbirds. I got some instructions (http://www.allbirdfeeders.net/Bird_Feeders_for_Kids_to_Enjoy.html) from a website. Right now, we're almost done with the milk carton bird feeders, and we can't wait how the hummingbirds would react to it. We're also thinking of some new exciting and creative projects.
How about you? What fun activities do you like to do with your kids?

Fun? Well, probably not.
I've been putting my kids to work this summer. LOL! After a few weeks of me having them 24/7 nonstop and the fighting that goes on between them, plus me having to spend nearly all my time attending to the baby, I finally sent the oldest one to work with her father. Yesterday I actually had my three oldest shoveling out dirt from a cattle guard we are fixing so I can turn our cattle out in front of the house.
Yeah, I'm a fun mom. LOL!
Actually, I would like to be a funner mom. There is just too much work to be done right now, and I haven't the time to try to make the work fun. sigh.
Jenny, YOu just took them on
Jenny,
YOu just took them on a two week vacation. And you coach their Little League plus a ton of other stuff. You ARE a fun Mom. Real life chores and part of the deal (or at least they should be) with every family!
Hey Susan!
Lately, I have not been doing much organizede type stuff - more fly by the seat of my pants! They love catching frogs, bugs, etc. so we do that in our yard or elsewhere. Playdates - easy fun! Cooking with DD7 a bit. Lots of art stuff - drawing, beads, origami, etc.
The hummingbird feeders sound neat! We have one hovering around my hanging basket of geraniums.
