Hello,
i am a new homemaker. i resigned form my job in june to stay at home and care for my 12.5 month old. i feel really good about that choice. so far i'm doing well on the parenting front. the house keeping end of things could use some work. i am hoping to find creative parenting and homemaking alternatives. i would also love to meet like minded moms in my area.

i find that many of the moms i meet in the area are content to follow the mainstream and not only afraid to try altenatives but put off by things as simple as breast feeding and baby wearing. is anyone out there in the same boat? i'd love to start a mom's group or set up play dates, whatever?

why do i feel like i'm writing a personal add? mom seeking moms for walks in the park, trips to the zoo, playdates and information sharing. if you're interested send me an email

I don't think any of the regular posters are in that area (I know I'm not! LOL! New Mexico, here). But you fit right in with the other things around here. While I'm not a Dr. Sears advocate (can't stand the guy, actually), I have breastfed all four of my children (still currently nursing my 8 month old and will til he is a year at least), used a sling for three (wasn't introduced to one til my 2nd was a few months old), and reluctantly am co-sleeping with the baby (the baby's choice. He wouldn't sleep alone from day one in the hospital).

As for housekeeping, check out www.flylady.net and see if that's your thing. It's just a system of cleaning and organizing your life. Not for everyone, but there are a few here that do it and it works for.

Welcome to TNH!
