I love living close enough to the ocean to make daytrips. We packed a picnic and set off for the afternoon yesterday after services. I really needed the break.
It was pure bliss playing in the surf even though it was too cold to be doing it. DD and I jumped the waves, got the dog wet, tried to fly a kite but it was too windy, got some salt-water taffy, ate an Elephant Ear cookie, and stayed to watch the sunset over the ocean.
I have always enjoyed going to the beach more than any other outing or activity. Must be the native costal Californian in me.
It was a very good day.
