I know, the old thread was pretty small, but as FlyLady says, "Just because it's not dirty doesn't mean you don't clean it. If you're doing it right, you'll never see dirt again."

So I felt compelled to post a new one for the new week.

Fun Weekend

Submitted by witchiepoo on Mon, 07/31/2006 - 11:46am.

We had a family reunion for my side this weekend, at the same campground as the long one for DH's side earlier in the month. My sisters came in from Wisconsin and Chicago, and I haven't seen them in a year. We had a great time.

However, I got a behind with the flying when I was trying to get ready for the trip (just one day of no routines!) and am suffering for it now.

Jackie, it was great to hear from you. You sound busy, but happy. Smiling

Becky, rest up.

Shaun, I hear that heat is headed this way. Yuck.

Jenny, did I tell you I got that planner? Did I tell you how much I love it? Thanks so much for the tip!

Lois, that stinks that DH doesn't appreciate your efforts. What didn't he like about it? Will he wait a few days to see if it grows on him? My DH never likes the paint the first few days.

See ya,

Bring on the storms!

Submitted by Shaun on Mon, 07/31/2006 - 7:28pm.

I can see the storms that are supposed to be bringing the cooler weather on the radar. Oh Lord, please let them come by here! It is 10:30 pm, and the heat index is still 97 degrees . . . ugh!

Didn't go as planned today -- DD7 sprained her ankle and we ended up at the Drs. Not sure about tomorrow -- probably a movie day so that she can keep her foot elevated again.

Good luck with that laundry guys -- I am motivated to keep it moving because the high heat and humidity means m-i-l-d-e-w if I don't.

HI guys -

Plugging along today in the heat - I am headed down to the dungeon right now for some more decluttering.

Susannah has arrived safely in Virgina with kids in tow if anyone is interested - check out her blog at homeschool blogger. Sounded like quite the move!

Home, finally!

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 08/02/2006 - 10:12am.

We are back from vacation. I've been working all morning unloading the truck, laundry, unpacking, more laundry, and about 10,000 other things plus the baby doesn't want me to even set him down. DD9 is entertaining him so I can type for just a sec. And even that isn't keeping him happy.

Vacation was great. I'll try to blog it this week if I ever get to. But now it's back to work.

I hope the heat wave will be gone for you, Andrea!

Welcome back Jenny. Hope you had a good vacation.

I am mean PMS mommy today -- but things have settled down. I'm letting DD3 have a long nap -- she has a cold. And DD7 is watching Fetch after doing some Chinese, math, and piano this afternoon. So all is well.

Till DH gets home . . . Evil

No, just kidding! Laughing out loud

Uh-oh, he better watch out Shaun! Yes, I hope the heat will be gone too. fortunately my inlaws have ac and there is a lake closeby!

Heidi, thanks! We will mainly be spending time with family with a few outings thrown in. The boys will be going to a Twins game in the cities, and then as a family we will probably do the Duluth zoo or Aquarium, and Iron World or a logging museum in another town. We also have a family picnic at my inlaws cabin on a lake and the girls will be attending my niece's wedding shower. So it should be nice. Unfortunately there are some family dynamics going on that could be troublesome, but hopefully it will all go well.

Home from my church meeting and doing dinner prep. DH amde a corn salad, it looks yummy. Also, green salad, salt potatoes, and grilled turkey sausages. Did some more time in the dungeon today - it is coming along!

I finally got most

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 08/03/2006 - 9:55am.

I finally got most everything unpacked. The playstation is still out in the Suburban, and a few other little odds and ends. I got 2 loads of laundry done, a couple of zone chores in the living room, and mopped the kitchen yesterday. Today one load of laundry in the dryer (and that is all for today), and I mowed the grass front, side and back. We got so much rain while we were gone (nearly 3 inches!) that I need to either do some massive mowing, or we are thinking of putting up some hot wire fence around the yard to protect it and just turning the cows loose in the rest. Or buying some goats. I don't mind mowing, especially since I can do it with the baby on my lap.

Need to take care of some paperwork today, mail, etc. Got an inch of rain last night and the wimpy mail lady called to say she can't make it to our house (DH is pissed! What happened to "come rain, sleet or snow!"?

I need to make a big list for Sam's club. I think I'll head down to Lubbock next week and get massive school supplies. I have to bring 10 boxes of Kleenix for my three kids! LOL! I want to go to Old Navy, too and see if I can find some good clearance deals.

Becky, sorry about the headache. Hope it subsides soon.

Ok gals, wake up!! I managed

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 08/04/2006 - 6:51am.

Ok gals, wake up!!

I managed to get a little more grass outside the yard mowed before the mower ran out of gas. Discovered that DH had took my gas can along with the 4-wheeler and trailer yesterday, so that was enough mowing for me I guess. So I found a bottle of Round-Up and sprayed it around on various weeds and grass growing where I didn't want it. Only for a raincloud to suddenly appear and waste that. I'm not complaining however, it rained on our crops, and that is a blessing (except for the farmer who had just sprayed a semi load of herbacide and was now wasted).

It's not my normal town day, but I need bread and a few other things. So we are off to the grocery store today. I have a few desk things to do first. And I guess I'll get to try out the 4-wheel drive on the Suburban. It rained all morning and has just now stopped and the sun is peeking thru. Tell me this, if it has been raining for a few hours, why does the weather still say 30% chance of rain today? Can't they say 100% because they KNOW it has already? Anyway, there are huge puddles everywhere! If the mail couldn't make it yesterday, it sure won't make it today. LOL!

Desperate Housewives!

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 08/06/2006 - 10:37am.

Where is everyone? hello! LOL!

I finally started watching Desperate Housewives last night. It was the pilot episode, Lifetime is now showing them on Saturday nights (think it was 9 my time, so 11 eastern?). Loved it! Now if I can just remember to watch it every week. I wish I had TiVo!!

I went out and brought a few things in from the Suburban and gathered a bag of trash from it, too (juice boxes, wrappers, etc.). Ready to take it out this afternoon for a pickin', I guess. It's a covered dish and I'm not real thrilled about going. But, go I will. My MIL will be there, misery loves company. LOL!

I've made a broccoli casserole for the thing, and I think I'll start a load of laundry real quick. I've even showered today! LOL!

Need to take care of some business stuff real quick. Laters!

TADA from yesterday:

-finally set up almost all the new shelves in our living room, except one which needs a handy-man to help
-lots of decluttering
-cleaned the bathroom
-cleaned the kitchen floor
-had the jazz singers come over and rehearsed

Now I'm just flat-out EXHAUSTED today. And feeling pretty sick too (pregnancy-related, not coming down with anything).

Andrea, I am visiting my parents, sister, and extended family on dad's side in Georgia next week. DH is coming too but he may only be able to come for part of the time; we'll be celebrating my 30th birthday on Saturday, so he'll be there then.

Jenny, pickin' what?

PODA: try to stay awake most of the day, and at some point I might even get dressed now that it's noon.... Zzzzzz..... Yesterday was our 6th anniversary but we're going out tomorrow night instead, because we didn't want to deal with the weekend crowds.

spent way too much money yesterday, but had fun doing it. LOL! Went to Lubbock and hit the mall, Old Navy and Sam's.
