Amazon is getting into the grocery biz [1]. I haven't ordered from there yet, but it's only a matter of time, as much as I use Amazon. If you're curious and want to give it a bash, I found a coupon (via Sound Money Tips [2]) for $10 off a purchase of $49 or more, using coupon code "GROCERY2" at checkout (valid until 8/31/06). Most of what's in the grocery section qualifies for free shipping too--that is, spend $25 and get the shipping free. And if you're already an Amazon Prime member, I'm pretty sure groceries qualify.
In case you're wondering, Amazon isn't selling lima beans and cabbages; it's non-perishables only. If it works monetarily I may go with that over something like Safeway.com. I have to get most of my groceries delivered in any event, maybe I'll have them delivered with books and CDs.
We'll see.
Shop Amazon Grocery [3]. (Full disclosure: TNH is an Amazon affiliate; whatever you buy there from a TNH link, even if it's not the thing linked to, gets TNH a cut at no cost to you.)
