Oh man. I think we've found the one!
I know, I know, it's too soon. But who's to say that if we waited longer we'd find something more perfect.
I don't know how we can actually pull this off time-wise -- I am not ready to sell and move house right away! -- but I see this house and I see us right there in it.
Have I mentioned that the house we're in now was one of the first we looked at, and our apt. in Mpls. was also the very first we looked at? At first blush that might look impulsive, but I'd rather think that a lot of forethought goes into choosing what we look at, and that we're closely in touch with our inner wisdom.
Another update: DH's dad called again the next night and was much more supportive, and they eventually talked about how DH felt really deflated, etc. So they had a lovely chat and talked it all through. Doncha love sensative men?!
I was really glad -- I know DH cares a lot about what his folks think.
It was probably good for me too -- I'm one of those who responds to a "you can't" with an "I'll show you what I can do!" Sometimes that's good -- but not always.
