I have so much basil right now, I don't know what to do with it. I have a son that can not have milk products so making a pesto with cheese is NOT an option. Can anyone think of a recipe for milk-free basil recipes? Thanks!

Whenever I had a recipe that called for basil, I hauled the log out, chopped off an inch or so, threw it in the pot, and voila! Other methods of freezing are mentioned here and here. For "dairy free pesto recipes", just put those words in a google search and you'll get recipes like this! The though of fresh basil makes my mouth water, I love just smelling the stuff. My basil's no where near ready to harvest, and the Thai Basil may not make it, it looks puny. Trying five different varieties this year to see what does best in that spot. Bon Apetite! It takes all of five minutes to make and is always a big hit whenever I have company. Herb GardenI decided to grow an herb garden this summer but when the time came I had too many herbs and not enough recipes. I didn't get the chance to use all of them! I never thought of cutting it off and freezing it or drying it. I don't know why this didn't come to me! I also like the idea Elisa posted. That is something I'll have to try.
