I am HOME!It's nice to be back. My grandmother was on my dad's side of the family, Southern Baptists from Georgia, and she got a proper Southern burial with loads of family and friends, and plenty of fried chicken and sweet tea afterwards. So I at least got to see some relatives I don't see often, who came out for the funeral. Right now I'm staring at the mess DH managed to make while I was gone for three days, before he came and joined me. I started cleaning it up and it looks as though it will be quicker and easier than I originally thought, but I still don't wanna clean. At least he always remembers to feed the cats properly. PODA: -Clean up DH's mess (I might be able to talk him into doing it but don't want to count on that) and wash the dishes (NOT all his, I left without doing them) ![]() Motivated MondaySince we had the 20th high school reunion family gathering at our house yesterday, it is the best looking it's been in 6 months! Yippee! And I got my Sink Reflections book and started reading this morning. TADA PODA I AM going to keep up with the whole Flylady system, and keep this house clean! See ya, ![]() Missed somethingI think I missed that your grandmother died, Becky. I'm very sorry. I'm glad you had a good weekend with family. I am feeling awful. I actually ate ribs -- twice! -- in Memphis. That and general road food junk has me extremely unhappy today. Back to veggies for me! Must go lie down while kids are at the pool! Yesterday's PODA turned outYesterday's PODA turned out to be a SLUG. Machine needed servicing. Today's TADA: bought materials to refinish the kitchen cabinets. The test door is being stripped now. ![]() Sink ReflectionsJust finished it, and I loved it. Now so much makes sense to me that I wasn't totally getting before. I guess having a book works better for me than reading off the computer. I made morning and before bed routines, and am excited to really follow the system, I think it will be exactly what I need. Jo, how cool! I justJo, how cool! I just re-read most of it, but a friend of mine was interested in the program, so I lent it to her. She was so excited when she got to swim lessons this morning (with her crew of 4 kids under the age of 5. LOL! A DD5, twins DS3, and surprise DSalmost2) and she said, "I have shoes ON, my sink is CLEAN, and laundry is FOLDED!!". LOL! I also found at Walmart a really good family organizer. It has a weekly calander, and on one side of it is where you put your menus. The other side of the page has a todo list, and a grocery list. The grocery list then tears out for you to take to the store! It also has monthly calenders and some other pages for other info (like a babysitter page). And stickers! And it's not too big, but not little, either. Ok, how have I been flying? Well, the past couple of days I've been decluttering a bunch because we have lost Harry Potter #1 book. But I'm thinking that one of the girls accidently took it to school and it was "lost" there (though they won't admit it). I've searched everywhere. But at least the other 5 are where they belong. Maybe I'll just start again on book two (we are going to read them together. I read the last two so fast, I want to re-read them anyway). The new AC is supposed to be installed tomorrow. Hopefully it will. good luck finding Harry!TADA: went to school Hi Flyfriends!!How are you girls?? We are doing good- taking each day as it comes Jo, I loved sink reflections. You have inspired me to take my copy out tonight. I know what you mean about reading vs the computer. It makes more sense to me in a book for some reason. Jenny, love the organizer. My problem is I buy them but never use them. I need to brush up on how to use a calendar. I have been keeping my planer on the kitchen counter and writing everything in it. But I dont take it with me and then I find I need it when I am out. Quick hi to all the other fly ladies out there! ![]() Lookin GoodBless those routines! Those few minutes twice a day is making a huge difference! Thanks for the planner info Jenny, it looks like just what I need. Do you ladies do the zones and keep a control journal? I'm not planning to to them yet, but I'm curious how helpful they are. Zones and Control JournalJo, I have all my zone chores on a program in my computer. It's a program I got YEARS ago (in fact, it says it's for Windows 95 and when I got it, CD-ROMS weren't out yet. It came on 5 floppy disks!), and I don't think it's even available anymore. It's from Daytimer, a company that makes organizers. I have all my routines and zone chores set in there to come on when they need to be done automatically (not that I DO them). Daily chores show up daily, weekly chores on the day they are SUPPOSED to be done, and zone chores on the week we are in that zone. It also has all my addresses, birthdays, and other info in there. I used to have a control journal the size of Flylady's. But it takes up so much space in my little kitchen. The organizer I got though isn't as big and works better. AC is FIXED! YEAH!! I haven't done much today though. It was town day, I was of course already there for swim lessons. We got groceries, got DH lunch to give him while he is on the tractor today (all. day. long), and came home. And I've flopped since then. Even accidently took a nap while feeding the baby. LOL! Good Evening! You all soundGood Evening! You all sound like you are doing well. We have been busy with swimming, camp, summer life etc.. Need to make a fruit salad for the 4th so will buy fruit over the weekend. We are headed over to a friend's house for a cookout on the 4th then to our old neighbor's later on for watching fireworks. What are you all doing for the holiday? See ya all later, personal posts next time Heidi We usually go camping forWe usually go camping for the 4th. My inlaws own a bunch of land in a real remote mountain location in Sangre de Cristo Mountains. But I don't think we are going to go this year. My camper is a MESS (thanks to the fire and dust storms all winter long). And DH will probably still be busy planting the hay. So, it will just be another day here. we're going to MichiganWe'll be visiting DH's family, and staying on for DH's fifteenth high school reunion. We're leaving Saturday. Yesterday I ran a bunch of errands. PODA: Good Evening! Jenny-bummerGood Evening! Jenny-bummer about the camper, maybe you and the girls can whip it into shape and camp out on your ranch!!!??? Becky-have a fun and safe trip. My 20th reunion is this summer but I am not flying down to Florida for it,oh well. Jackie-get those giggles on tape, you don't want to forget those sounds. Pizza for dinner here, gonna pick it up in a few minutes. TADA PODA Later all... Heidi HAHAHA!!!I live on this hot ranch in the middle of the desert. I sure ain't gonna CAMP out on it! LOL! 99 in the shade with no AC. Uhuh, I don't think so (but you are more than welcome to if you want. Just come on by the house and cool off when it gets to hot. hehehe). Camping is done either at the lake (with electric hookups to run the AC), or in the mountains where you need coats at night and it doesn't get hot enough in the day to need the AC and is cooled off by afternoon rains. Yes. I'm spoiled. Guess I ain't such a frontiersman afterall. LOL! But there won't be time to clean up the camper until DH is done planting. Some time next week. Because I need him to hook it up and bring it to the house where I can plug it in and fill it up with water, and get down to business with the vacuum and wash down everything, change the sheets, and Lord only knows what all needs to be done. And I can't think about doing that unless someone is around to watch at least the baby (because I'm not taking him out there with all the wasp bodies all over the bed and floors). And until DH is done with all his stuff, or MIL gets back from her sister's funeral in ARK, There is no one to watch any of the kids (I don't trust DD9 to do it yet). I need a break from the kids in order to clean, in other words. And there is no one to do it but me. Can I have some cheese with my whine? LOL! I need to vent! ![]() I have that planner too!Just got it on Sunday, and it is sitting next to me right now (under my tea cup). Good to know that you like it so much, Jenny. I thought it looked really good too. My week of flu kind of prevented me from getting started with it. Hope you have a great trip to MI, Becky. We are not going to MI this summer, and everyone is very disappointed. We can only travel so much in 3 months! (Well, DH can only travel so much. I'm always willing to pick up the laptop and deliver the grandchildren somewhere. We are probably getting together with friends on the 4th -- no big plans. No plans at all, actually, except that we'll do something together. I am finally feeling halfway decent today. Been consuming a lot of liquid calories -- mainly Koolaid -- and today I actually had some flavored rice and strawberries. Not sure what to try for dinner. I can tell my brain is not quite up to speed yet, though! Man, that flu was nasty. A TADA!Whoohooo, I have something to TADA today!: *took down and washed my huge, poofy, ruffled country curtains in the dining room. As a reward, I made chocolate chip cookies and am eating them right now with a tall cold glass of MILK! Three more days of planting and DH will hopefully be done. That is, as long as a big gully washer of rain doesn't come and wash all the seed away, while hoping that the seed has enough moisture to come up good or just a nice gentle rain (which really doesn't happen here). THEN we can go on vacation (in a couple of weeks). Post new comment |
