We ddi the swim lessons

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 06/19/2006 - 10:35am.

We ddi the swim lessons thing this morning. I didn't see the girls do theirs, but Chance had a blast! His is more just playing in the water with toys, he isn't old enough for real lessons. But he had a ball.

I really need to do some catching up on laundry and stuff today. Maybe I'll get back later with a tada.

Hello Again!

Submitted by Vonnie on Mon, 06/19/2006 - 12:26pm.

Does anyone here remember me? I have been AWOL for quite some time. I have been blogging and to be honest, I just can't blog, post here and read and then keep my house and take care of my family. I've learned that I am NOT superwoman! Only took me 38 years! I keep up with JennyE on her blog. She just cracks me up!

DD is out of school for the summer and is going to a summer daycamp at a local church. She LOVES it! They do something every day & the kids are tired everyday when you pick 'em up! I'm glad she's staying physically active.

Today she is home with the stomach flu. We've had a slow, quiet day. Poor baby felt REALLY bad for the best part of the day. My mom (dear that she is) is going to come over and stay with her tomorrow so I can go to work. I have an opportunity to go to a christian ladies' conference this weekend, all paid (someone backed out who had already paid), and I need to try to get my boss to agree to let me off on Friday so I can go.

I've been reading about Lynn's recent health crisis. Sheesh, I'm sure glad you're doing better now, Lynn! How scary!

I hope everyone is doing well! I'll try to check back in more often!

Hi!

Submitted by Andrea on Mon, 06/19/2006 - 5:14pm.

HI All!

So happy to see you Vonnie! Didn't know you were blogging! Care to share?

You are rockin' and rollin' Jackie! Keep it up!

I'm so glad Chance like the swimming Jenny! I think water is so good for kids, if they like it and are having fun.

Had a nice weekend here. BBQ'd steak and salmon here for us and my folks yesterday. Worked todeay, fairly quiet. We reupholstered my kitchen chairs with a nice multi colored plaid. So much better than the off-white -gross! Been working in the garden a bit and just doing this and that.

Off to bed now, busy day tomorrow.
DS9 is coming up on the playoffs for Little League - very exciting!

Hi from Memphis

Submitted by Shaun on Tue, 06/20/2006 - 6:53am.

Grandma and Grandpa took the girls to the pool, so I am getting a minute to peek at the computer!

Sounds like everyone is in summer mode. We are too -- and it is hot down here!

Good to see you peeking Vonnie. Hope all is well and DD feels better soon.

Of course I injured my foot the first day we got here. Just healed from the broken big toe and now a possible stress fracture. I am destined to be out of shape, since I have not been able to do any real exercise for months!

Enjoy the week, gals!

It's 103 outside and my air

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 06/20/2006 - 12:56pm.

It's 103 outside and my air conditioner decided to die yesterday. Repairguy can't get out here til tomorrow. Turned the computer on for just a few minutes. It's too hot in this closet (where my desk is) to run it long.

Oh, and no flying today. LOL! I'm going to try to get the grass mowed during Drew's next nap so I can set the kiddie pool back up.

Oy! Jenny!! That's pretty hot to be without AC!

I bought some new light fixtures today to replace the 44-year-old ones. I hope DH will install the kitchen one tonight.

Hi Flyfriends!!

Submitted by Tigerlilly on Thu, 06/22/2006 - 10:54am.

We are barely hanging by a thread today. I will survive the day! Dh is working 12 hours and I think Luke slept about 3 hours total last night and not in a row! What's up with being such a good sleeper and then suddenly he isnt sleeping well????????? UGGHHH.. This too shall pass. So I am running on fumes today.

Jenny, I sure hope you had the Ac fixed. Hope you are staying cool and having fun!

Hi Shaun in Memphis!! Hope you are having a good time!

OK gotta be quick. Luke is actually sleeping for longer than 45minutes. WOohoo!!! And Lex is still asleep too.

AC

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 06/22/2006 - 11:51am.

It's still not fixed. The guy came out yesterday to see it, not good news. Condenser is out. I can spend 1300 and have it replaced in a 17 year old unit, or 1800 for a new unit. I choose the latter. Either way, it's going to be Monday before they can get to it. DH hooked up the inlaws old swamp cooler for now. It helps, but I have to go out every hour or so and soak the pads down so it will work.

No flying for me today, either.

Jackie-most babies sleep

Submitted by heidic on Thu, 06/22/2006 - 11:54am.

Jackie-most babies sleep real well in the very beginning and then do the wake up sessions at night. Some feel it's the epidural drugs lingering, some feel it's the exhaustion of birth, some just don't know. But whatever it is,they shake off that early long sleeping in favor of wakefulness since they need to eat to grow. It seems both of yours sleep at the same time so that would be a great time for you too as well. A nap can really help you in those early months. Good luck! You are doing great.

Gotta run,post more later

I have still been on the "spruce up the house" tear. The routines are being followed. Things are looking up.

TADA
dishes
laundry
changed shower curtain
fixed curtains in my room
changed out the summer bedding
summer bedding for DD too
put slipcovers on couch and loveseat-love them!
got a toothbrush holder for the kid's bathroom
windows in the kitchen and dining room

PODA
wash and put away winter bedding
water window boxes and deck planters

Jackie, Yuck. I hate nor sleeping, it gets me so crabby. He must be growing. Or teething. Or both. Poor guy. Poor mommy! Hang in there!

Jenny, yikes on the A/C! I'm glad you at least have to cooler in the meantime. I grew up in Phoenix, so I know how important A/C is this time of year in that part of the country. Have a cold margarita! Smiling

Hi Vonnie-it's great to hear from you!

My Sink Reflections book is on the way. I can't wait to read it.

Hello Shaun in Memphis!

Heidi, how was the comedy club?

Later!

Morning!

Submitted by Andrea on Fri, 06/23/2006 - 4:16am.

HI All!

Jenny, hope that AC is up and runnng soon! We got one two years ago and now I don't think I could live without it, even in here WNY where it doesn't get THAT hot.

Jackie - good luck with Luke's sleeping. I think I spent too much of my kids' babyhood being sleep-deprived because I never napped! Well, not enough anyway. Dumb.

The last day for teachers is today...FINALLY! I feel like the summer is half-over and I am still working! I will work 10 days over the summer but it won' t be bad because it is more flexible and I can choose the days. I have some decluttering projects and some other stuff I want to tackle this summer, in addition to the kids' camps and a trip to Minnesota, so it should be fun and productive.

See ya!

Jo, come join me for the

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 06/24/2006 - 5:47am.

Jo, come join me for the Margarita? LOL!

Andrea, can't believe ya'll are STILL in school! Glad it is out for you now (boy, we have been out for a month!). Enjoy your summer!

Yesterday's flying consisted of cleaning the kitchen AS I WENT! Whoohoo! LOL! I didn't let the dishes pile up all day. I immediatly started a sink of soapy water and washed as I messed up. All I cooked were cupcakes and a brocolli casserole. But it looked decent when I went to bed last night. When I went to bed. DH had other plans in the middle of the night. So I never wake up to a clean kitchen (which is kinda depressing, isn't it?).

Today I have to tackle mt. laundry. It's been piling all week because I didn't want to run the dryer or do anything without the AC and I was gone every morning for swim lessons.

I also want to tackle a few other things. INlaws are coming over for dinner. My youngest daughter turned 7 yesterday! So we are having her birthday dinner tonight (last night was our baseball picnic and inlaws were out of town for a funeral).

Laterz!

We finally have sleep again!!!!!!

Submitted by Tigerlilly on Sat, 06/24/2006 - 4:44pm.

I shouldn't be saying it because it always jinxs(sp?) me when I say it but maybe typing it is different. Luke slept 830pm to 4am nursed and went right back down until 630am today. Woohoo. I am a new woman. It amazes me how much being sleep deprived affects us Smiling Thank goodness I have gotten them down together for naps so I catch a nap too. Heidi, I always wonder what the heck I was doing when Alexa was an infant and napping. Now I know better and I always try to lay down at least for a half hour. OK sorry so OT but I am feeling so much better.

Now flying, that's another story. We had Dstepson's graduation today, which was really nice and then a brunch for my dnephew who also graduated today so we werent home much today. But it was a fun family day. I can't believe how fast time has gone.

And I FINALLY took some time to myself and went and had a pedicure. It definitely renewed my spirit. It has only been the third time I left Luke and one time was to go to the gyno. But I decided I was just doing it and although DH looked at me like I had three million heads when I said I will be back in an hour, everyone did survive without me Smiling

And I did attempt date night last night. We tried to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which I have been dying to see since it came out, but we both started to fall asleep after 45 minutes. So we will watch it in stages I guess.... at least we tried Smiling BIG difference from our first date Smiling

OK gotta get Lex to bed, is so late but she napped late because of all the parties today. Have a good night Love Jack

Yay for Sleep!!

Submitted by Jilsyt on Sat, 06/24/2006 - 6:46pm.

Really, I think every parent who finally gets their first night of good sleep after a long time deserves to have a party thrown for them--since they are finally feeling good enough to enjoy it!! No really, I LOVE sleep so much, that when my kids start sleeping, other people notice enough to SAY SOMETHING. One time, my friend said, "Well, I guess now that you've had a full nights rest I can tell you the things I was afraid to mention while you were being Ms. Cranky." Can you imagine? I'm amazed we're still friends if I was as cranky as people say, but I don't remember since I was too tired to notice. Makes me wonder if I want to have a #3, yet, at the same time, I imagine a big family gathering at the holidays--me being the old grandma that gets to see everyone's kids and send them off at the end of the week!! Ahhh, daydreams. But, off to accomplish something for real, since this is the flybabies board!!

Sleep?

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 06/25/2006 - 10:02am.

What's that?

Jackie, you are SO LUCKY! LOL! My first two were good sleepers, and Chance was an ok one. Drew STILL won't sleep in his crib, STILL won't sleep without at least one feeding a night. DH asked me yesterday "uh, when are we going to have, uh, relations again?". LOL!! TMI!!!

I'm working on cleaning my desk today. I had to move the computer out of the closet into my room where it was cooler while the AC is out. It's cool in the LR again, thanks to the inlaws letting us borrow the swamp cooler. But I'm taking advantage of the computer NOT being in there to clean it good. Just taking a short break. Although with the puter in the bedroom, I'm not distracted by it much. Hmmm. No, there is no room for it in here. Gotta go back.

Dh took Chance to work with him (at the inlaws, in their barn. He is cutting and welding and working on some wheat drills he got cheap at an auction over the winter). Pray for some more rain, so we can plant the hay then go on vacation! Nice to just have three. You should have SEEN the knot on his head Friday! He ran right into a wall (running from a sister) and got the biggest goose-egg on his head I had ever seen. I mean, I literally thought it was going to just bust open and explode, it got so big! Scared the crap out of me!

Time to get back to work (and my baseball game).
