Breakfast in Bed

Bob, our Mail Uromastyx lizard, is enjoying a gluttony of spring dandilions these days...they're actually almost a "perfect" food for her and since we don't use chemicals on our yard they're safe for her to eat...

She sleeps under an old towel and a little while ago I noticed that she was awake and had just her head poking out. I trooped out the back door and picked three flowers for her, brought them in and dropped them in her food dish.

She cranked her head completely around to look at them...then looked directly up at me...then back at the dandilions. I retrieved one and fed it to her (she scarfed it down in about three bites.) She then proceeded to look back at the dish...and back at me...so I fed her another. She gulped that one down too...and went back under the towel!

I just served a reptile Breakfast in Bed!

Sounds like that lizard has landed smack dab in the middle of The Easy Life. When I die can I come back as one of your lizards, Lenora?

I never realized they were quite so communicative.
