Good Morning! TADA morning

Submitted by heidic on Mon, 04/03/2006 - 6:46am.

Good Morning!

TADA
morning routine
read paper

PODA
put laundry away
was a few windows(love the sun but it shows all the dirt on my windows!!)
vacuum lower level
convince kids to decide on something to do(they are acting too homebody like)
meals
early to bed(back to school tomorrow)

Not too ambitious, but that will ensure it gets done, right??!!

My kids don't want to go anywhere or do anything after being home for a couple days. They are acting like hermits. What kid doesn't want to go swimming or kite flying or any number of things I have suggested. Oh well....

Been busy doing some office

Submitted by jennye on Mon, 04/03/2006 - 8:25am.

Been busy doing some office stuff this morning. First I listed our old pickup on Ebay. Took a while, I've never sold anything on there before. Then the tax lady emailed me that she needs a couple of things, and of course, I can't find ANYTHING! So it's turned into a clean the desk day. ARG! I have other things I wanted to get done today! Maybe I'll get to post later that I've DONE something!

Going to town today. Need

Submitted by jennye on Tue, 04/04/2006 - 6:29am.

Going to town today. Need some fabric for a project and a few groceries and deposit some moneys in the bank. DD8 has ball practice tonight, DH has Weight Watchers. Tomorrow DH has Lion's club. Thursday DD8 has practice, DH has fire dept. meeting. May have practice on Saturday, too. Busy week ahead! I'm fixing to get a bunch of stuff ready to attempt to sell on Ebay. My first time selling stuff. Starting with maternity clothes. Wish me luck!

Becky's picture

Good luck Jenny!

Submitted by Becky on Tue, 04/04/2006 - 4:19pm.

I've posted stuff on Ebay before. It's not too hard after the first set-up.

Have fun with the in-laws Jamielea!

Heidi, your kids sound like my DH. He'll go out to eat, but good luck getting him to do much of anything else. Hermit indeed.

Today's my first day having "normal" energy after the big exams last week. So I took advantage!

TADA:
-went to physical therapy
-talked to a former student of mine about where she should go to grad school (she's considering the same place where I went for undergrad, so she had some questions about the opera program there)
-made some doc appointments
-laundry (good thing, too-- it turns out the laundry room will be closed from Wednesday through Saturday!)
-straightened up the kitchen a little

Still need to: straighten up the kitchen MORE, take out trash, do my home physical therapy exercises, and grade some papers. DH and I might go out for dessert.

Homebodies

Submitted by Shaun on Tue, 04/04/2006 - 8:37pm.

We are total homebodies around here, especially DH and DD6. Why go out when it's perfectly comfortable in here?

Jenny, good luck with EBay. I really want to try selling but I just have not had any time to figure it out.

Becky, sounds like you had a big day! Hope you rewarded yourself with dessert.

We are still trying to figure out how to fit everything into the day. I am up too late, as usual. Homeschooling is going well--hurray for the honeymoon phase--and the house isn't a disaster yet. I have the DW, the washer, the dryer, and the Roomba all running right now!

Tomorrow I'm meeting with some friends to start a Flylady support group. We're going to meet up once a month and force each other to fling! I can't imagine . . .

I'll let you know what we figure out!

Morning! Heidi, the fabric

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 04/05/2006 - 6:52am.

Morning!

Heidi, the fabric is not for a quilt. I'll unveil this project when I get something going on it. I'll let ya'll know!

Shaun, don't blow a fuse! lol!

Becky, yay for exams being over!

Today I'm climbing out of Mt Laundry, doing some picking up, folding, bathrooms, at the least. I have an IEP meeting at 2:30, and a dinner tonight here with a friend and her two kids (Lion's club tonight, our husbands will be there together. Next week will be at her house for our husbands' school board meeting). But tonight is also pending on one of my blog friends. She is passing thru New Mexico today and we planned on getting together. But I haven't heard from her yet to find out WHERE in NM she is.

Wind Advisory here today. Gusting 50MPH this afternoon. Bleh. It's supposed to be 87 degrees, but the wind just ruins it. At least we don't have practice tonight.

Hi Flyfriends!!

Submitted by Tigerlilly on Wed, 04/05/2006 - 8:46am.

Jumping on real quick. Total chaos around here today. The second time around isn't so overwhelming though. If I had the morning I had today when I first had Alexa I would have cried. Today I am cracking up- mostly. Only cried once when the crazy girl was really being bad and I had to give her time out and all she kept saying was "Sorry" over and over and over.... This too shall pass... but I do feel kind of guilty since she really is a baby herself and we are expecting her to act like a big girl.

Jamielea, have fun with your inlaws.
Jenny, maybe I will see you on the other side of our Mt Laundry over here! Boys pee through all their clothes!!!
Becky, enjoy your down time after your exams.
Quick waves to everyone else Smiling
Tada and poda:
~1 load laundry washed, folded, dried, 2 to go
~brought truck for oil change with DH
~went to bagel store for breakfast
~took a shower
~made bed
~didn't have a major meltdown this morning while Alexa did everything bad she could think of to get my attention Smiling
~make stuffed chicken for diner
~hopefully take a nap
Thats about it. Have a great day Love JAckie

Jackie, I'm finding that

Submitted by jennye on Wed, 04/05/2006 - 9:10am.

Jackie, I'm finding that with boys, don't bother with cheap diapers. The only ones that work really well with Drew are Pampers Baby Dry. Huggies place 2nd, but not for overnight. I may never buy White Cloud again. They are HORRIBLE with Drew (I don't remember them being this bad with Chance). I haven't tried cloth ones yet with this one. I need some new covers first.

Maybe it's the wine talking . . .

Submitted by Shaun on Wed, 04/05/2006 - 7:56pm.

No, I don't have anything interesting to say, but whatever it is it's through a bit of a wine-haze. Took a friend out for a drink to pick her brain about homeschooling.

No I did not blow a fuse, but boy, it sure is easy to trip a circuit in this old house! In the summer, with the A/C we are constantly trying to reconfigure how things are plugged in to prevent flipping the switch.

Jackie, sounds like you have a good attitude. Hope you are enjoying your little guy. And speaking of pee, DD almost-3 went through 4 pairs of underwear today!

My fly-friends are ladies I already knew from my MOMS Club, but we all happened to jump back on the fly-wagon at around the same time recently. I actually stole something out of my friend's house that she said she wanted to get rid of but couldn't bring herself to! (Actually, I think she might have seen me do it and just not said anything! Laughing out loud) We're going back in a month to check her progress after figuring out how she should tackle her one room. Scary!

I'm pretty pleased with my PODA today:
Unload DW
broil chicken
slice strawberries
make salad (all for lunch with mom friends)
homeschool
go to fly-friends group
stay at friend's house for 5 hours while kids make a "Wilderness Club" and a fort (plans for afternoon homeschool go out the window, where the beautiful spring weather is, finally!)
make dinner
run Roomba in kitchen
mop kitchen floor
meet with friend for wine and chat

Oh boy do I love spring!

Yes, me too ladies!

Busy weekend Heidi - hope it all goes well!

Shaun, I'm enjoying your blog - glad it is going well so far.

Hey Jenny and Jackie! All these babies - wow!

Well, I'm trying to not type so much b/c I think I may be developing carpal tunnel syndrome - I type a lot of reports at work so it is difficult.

Anyway,
typical day here. I've got dinner going - DS is still not home from his scrimmage.

Bye!

Guess I forgot to post yesterday!

-went to dry cleaner's
-bought some groceries
-complained a lot about this cold (usually I'm fairly stoic about them, but this one is causing tremendous achiness)

I'm so tired!! I met one of

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 04/06/2006 - 5:54pm.

I'm so tired!! I met one of my imaginary friends today (not from here, from somewhere else). I spent the day enjoying her company and showing her around and had so much fun!! But it was all in a huge sandstorm and it's just took everything out of me. Not only that, but the house, the house that was clean yesterday, is now in shambles. And it's no one's fault but Mother Nature! Ok, it wasn't perfect. But the sand storm today was so severe, that the windows sills that were vacuumed yesterday have an inch of dirt on them. The bathrooms have dirt everywhere (especially the tub and toilets, and the counter in DH's bathroom is horrible), and the kitchen table, that I distinctly remember wiping so clean last night, is completed covered in dirt. In fact, there is a sand DUNE in front of the napkin basket. I hate sandstorms!! The kids are driving me nuts (though they have been angels all day, really). Drew won't stop crying now, and I'm so tired. Is it bedtime yet? No, wait, I have to give the kids showers. In the tub full of dirt.

And tomorrow won't be a catch up day, because it's BACK to town because the lady FINALLY got our taxes done. Over a month late. Yeah, I'm pissed! Not only that, but she said she had them done a couple of days ago and thought she had told us, when in fact, she hasn't emailed or called. At all. Is it the weekend yet?

Oh, but the girls want to attend a rabbit raising clinic the town 4-H is doing on Saturday. Oh, dear.

Good Morning! Jenny-I am so

Submitted by heidic on Fri, 04/07/2006 - 3:35am.

Good Morning!

Jenny-I am so sorry about all the dirt. It is so hard for me to understand how it makes it's way inside the windows. Is there any way to prevent or lessen it? I guess if there was, you would have done it already. Take Care

PODA
morning routine
DS off to school
read paper
pack up food at school for food bank
Aldi for groceries(ironic I know)
bank deposit
lunch in there somewhere
sort mail
1 load laundry
read with DD
dinner
no homework

Andrea-carpel tunnel huh? Do you need to wear a special splint at work? Maybe you can get Dragonspeak software on your work computer and speak your reports and not type them? I actually inquired about that at DS IEP yesterday.

Becky-hope your cold vanishes soon, drink lots of fluids

See ya

Wow, that sounds cool Heidi. Wonder how much it is? I haven't even seen a Dr. yet so no splint.

Jenny, oh my - what a mess that sounds like. What is causing these terrible sandstorms?

Feel better soon Becky -

I'm off - work break over.

Sandstorms

Submitted by jennye on Fri, 04/07/2006 - 5:34am.

The sandstorms are much worse this year because of the fire. It burned so much land and there is no vegetation to hold the dirt down. The fire burned 35,000 acres and all that dirt is just blowing now. The wind yesterday was 55MPH. When I'm up in the town north of us, or Clovis, the wind is horrible, but there is no duststorm. It's only in the parts that were burned. And since the fire burned all around my house (miles and miles west, 2 miles north, 2 miles south, and miles and miles east), its really bad here. I think it's something you kinda have to see to believe.

As for the dirt thru the windows. The windows on this house are almost brand new, doublepaned windows. They seal shut and are difficult to open. But that sand still manages to come thru them.

It's supposed to be another windy day. I'm going to town to pick up my taxes, Walmart for a perscription (BC pills, DH hasn't gone for his snipping yet! LOL! Though I've got him to "if we win the lottery, we can have another baby". LOL!). and then when I get home, laundry and more cleaning (though really, what's the point).

Becky's picture

Be sure to wear flowers in your hair

Submitted by Becky on Fri, 04/07/2006 - 4:51pm.

Yep, DH and I are going to San Francisco tomorrow! We're visiting a friend for the weekend. And actually I JUST realized that we might have time to visit another friend in the area as well, so I need to e-mail her. Oops. My cold is much better (I've been drinking lots of water) so I should be able to have a pretty decent time.

I'm sorry about the sandstorm Jenny! That's pretty crazy-making.

Heidi, I miss Aldi! Wish they had them here.

Andrea, I hope your arm feels better soon. The nerve damage in my foot was improved a lot by something called "K tape," you might want to ask if that would help carpal tunnel.

Anyhow, today's pretty much been a school day. I have grading to do and packing for our trip, and I think that's all that will be accomplished. Although, they put in some new washers and dryers in our apartment building so I might also do laundry. They weren't supposed to be ready until Sunday but they got done early.

Have a great time Becky!

Submitted by Andrea on Fri, 04/07/2006 - 5:16pm.

Have a great time Becky! I'm jealous. Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the tip - it is feeling better now, just weak. So not sure if I will keep my appt. with the orthoped. doc.

Jenny, unreal what you are putting up with. Hope it ends soon - the grass grows, whatever it takes!!!

Cleaned my bathroom tonite - got subs for dinner and just vegging now.

PODA this weekend!

dance
baseball for DS9
DS9 to party/sleepover
Palm Sunday service
clean!
oh yeah and taxes! - yuk - I think we will owe

Bye!

I'm going to try to catch up

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 04/08/2006 - 8:11am.

I'm going to try to catch up a little here at the house since I'm staying HOME today (or at least, that's the plan). DD6 had wanted to go to a rabbit showing class/demonstration in town, but luckily, she forgot about it. LOL! I didn't want to try to keep Chance and Drew happy while we attended the class for 3 hours, and DH isn't around today (hauling hay). Hopefully, she won't remember for a while and when she does, she won't be upset.

The wind isn't blowing today, thank goodness. It will be in the low 70's, I have windows open. And I'm just glad to stay home for a while.

Morning of cleaning

Submitted by Shaun on Sat, 04/08/2006 - 8:29am.

Friends are coming for a casual dinner tonight (finally, it's been about 2 months since the first dinner that we had to cancel, and then cancel the next one, and so on . . . ) so I took the opportunity to get myself in gear.

TADAs:
Organized craft cupboard in DR
Sorted crayons and pencils into one tub, DD6 loose markers and pens into her pencil box, and "special use" markers into another container (color wonder, window markers, spray art, etc.)
Went through piles and piles of paper in both "sides" of LR (we have our LR split into two mini "rooms")
Recycled recycled recycled

PODA
Go through old clothes to find cute Easter dresses to loan to friend
Library for freelance work
Shop for friend's B.day (oops, that was in late January!)
pick up pizzas
make bowls of fruit, nuts, etc. for make your own sundaes

Came across DD6's Ello stuff again. She can entertain herself for hours with that. Note to self: more Ello for DDs birthday!

Happy weekend to everyone! Hope you can keep that dirt at bay, Jenny. I sure remember growing up in Western South Dakota, where there was no doubt about why cowboys had bandanas, and I was always glad to be wearing glasses.
