Hi Flyfriends!

Submitted by Tigerlilly on Mon, 03/27/2006 - 10:25am.

We had a baby BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baby Luke was born March 21, 2006 Tuesday at 3:18pm and was 8lbs 7oz. He is so amazing and we were shocked how easily he came. I was induced but I was already 5 centimeters dilated when I got there. I never had any real hard labor and it only took 3 pushes to get him out! I couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. We are slowly getting settled but all I have to say is I am in for it when DH goes back to work!!! Alexa is doing amazing- she loves her Baby Luke!! She wants to help, hold and tickle him all the time. So far he is such a good baby but I am holding my breath over here since the reflux and colic hit at 3 weeks with Lexy so we shall see. But I am totally enjoying him- the second time is so much more relaxed!! I am going to try to be here more- I need to fly!!! I hope everyone is doing well and I miss you guys.
Heres a quick tada:
~nmade bed
~got dressed
~dressed Alexa
~gave Luke a spongebath
~both kids napping at same time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~DH went to Target to get a dresser for Luke- he doesnt have a room yet since we are doing the work on the house in May
~everyione fed breakfast and lunch.
Have a great day girls Smiling
I will try to post some pics soon- Love Jackie

Morning Becky!

Thanks Jamie Lea! Great to see you around!

Well, I am enjoying a rare day at home. The kids and I had dentist appointments and then I took them to school and had lunch with an old friend who I see very little of nowadays. Kids will be home in 2 hours now so am just puttering. Would like to take a quick snooze. I am copying my old VHS videos onto DVD. Fun to watch the baby movies, etc.

OK, I'm off -

How exciting -- congratulations Jackie!

Great to see you around, Jamie Lea.

Picked up MIL and FIL first thing this morning, went to IHOP for breakfast then the mega mall (returned some pants that were too small for DD6 and picked up some t-shirts at The Childrens Place).

Got the house picked up for cleaners to come -- first time in months! It was sooooo fabulous. Of course the floors are already filthy -- I have to wear shoes at all times, and it is so muddy outside, and then there is the dog . . .

More work to do tonight. Yuck!! Better get started. I made the mistake of having wine with dinner, so I am already sleepy after trudging around the mall on the broken toe. Somehow it requires more effort.

Have a good night!

That's what I did last week & guess what I did this morning? Yup, you guessed it. I broke my foot. Went to doc-in-the-box and have a rather unattractive accessory on my foot. At least it's a removable boot and not the old-fashioned plaster cast!

I gotta run now though, need to drop off prescription at pharmacy and then go get DD at school.

See you gals later!

HI All - Just a quick

Submitted by Andrea on Tue, 03/28/2006 - 10:00am.

HI All -

Just a quick poke-my-head in from work!

Jamie Lea - as you may remember, I struggled mightily with the whole DVD thing back around Xmas - trying to burn DVDs from our new mini DV camera. Anyway, I bought a fairly inexpensive (100.00) DVD recorder from WM and am playing the old videos on our old VCR and hen recording them onto DVD. I am not very good at this tech stuff, but am stumbling my way through it! I think you said that your DH has a DVD recorder, right? In that case, you can play your old videos and record them (if you still have a VCR or VHS camera). this has become somewhat of an obsession with me!

Waves to everyone else!

Submitted by Shaun on Tue, 03/28/2006 - 10:24am.

LOL, Jamie Lea!

My DH also transferred some of our old VHS home stuff to our computer for future transfer to DVD. It was kind of a slow process.

Inlaws have DD6 out for the day (or a big chunk of it) and DD2 is watching Bug's LIfe (bad mommy!). I'm just peeking in while I can!

I'm glad to have the inlaws here but when I get thrown off my routine I am a mess! I have no idea what we're doing for dinner or what is going to happen for the rest of the day.

I guess my PODA is
Get S--t together!

Congratulations to you Jackie, and Luke, welcome to this world. I can't wait to see pictures. You and my mom have something in common,Shocked only I am the 3rd child, not the 2nd. Cool When I was born, it only took mom a few pushes, just like you did with Luke. Enjoy him, especially while he's young, and little. (I'm told, that's when they're the most fun.) I don't have any kids, but hopefully someday I will. Anyway, here's my TADA and PODA for today:

Submitted by jennye on Thu, 03/30/2006 - 6:03pm.

Hey gals! I got a ton of laundry done today. We are on Spring Break, so DD8 and I got the girls room cleaned yesterday. Also had pictures done yesterday, Chance was uncooperative, I just hope we got a couple of good ones of him! I've been playing around online most of the day, researching something.

Had a good time with the company, stay was too short. Drew had his 4 month checkup and is well. 19.5 pounds, 26 3/4 inches, and had 4 shots (but very little reaction now). And so healthy!!

I just have monster sized kids! LOL! Every one of mine hit 20 lbs and outgrew the carrier carseat by 6 months at the latest. My girls were 8lb8oz and 8lb4oz at birth, the boys 9lb9oz and 9lb3oz. All of them had gained the first week rather than the usual loss after birth.

It IS quiet around here

Submitted by jennye on Sat, 04/01/2006 - 3:00pm.

It IS quiet around here lately! Guess everyone is just being more productive and actually doing things rather than posting about doing things. LOL!

Andrea, DD is getting pedicures!? Wow! I'VE never even had one! LOL! Pampering starts early, huh? LOL! Maybe that is something the girls and I will do tonight, paint our nails. For the record, I seldom paint my nails. I did last year while pregnant because I finally found some sandals that didn't drive me crazy (I HATE flipflops!!). But it's been many, many months since I did mine. It could be fun. I won't do my fingernails (what's the point? I'm just going ot mess them up!), but I may do the girls'.

I did get a few procrastination chores done. Planted some roses, did church minutes from board meeting almost 2 months ago, moved the old computer into the girls room (just for games. It has no internet. Too old for my wireless deal). It's also very tempermental and half the time won't even come on, so I'm not too worried about them spending too much time on the darn thing. LOL!

A friend came by and dropped of 2 BAGS of clothes her daughter has outgrown. Some cute things in there. So now I'm going thru clothes. Think I will pack up winter things and break out the summer stuff! It's been in the 70's the past few days, almost 80 one day, and the forecast looks like it's here to stay. So I think it's safe. Besides, they still have jeans and jackets in case of a cold snap.

Just you and me Jenny! I am

Submitted by Andrea on Sat, 04/01/2006 - 5:03pm.

Just you and me Jenny!

I am jealous of your warm weather. We had a nice week last week - 6o's and then 70 something on Friday, but back to the 40's today and next week. Maybe in the 50's. Too cold! I want to get out and walk and get inspired to lose more weight. I've lost 5 pounds or so, only ** more to go! Eye-wink Lydia got a manicure, not a pedicure, though she begged for that. They are only 12.00 at Wal-Mart so I thought I'd treat her. It was cute - her nails look good and I think she had fun. I've only gotten mine done once, before a wedding. Never had fake nails, like most of the ladies were getting in there today.

TADA:
kitchen mopped!!
laundry done
Wal-Mart shopping done
the stuff I mentioned above.
chicken enchiladas for dinner, yum

Where is everyone??!! Heidi, I saw you were here earlier - post! Is everything ok??

I'm off - have a good nite all -

exams are over!

Submitted by Becky on Sat, 04/01/2006 - 5:52pm.

As of yesterday. I don't know how I did-- I looked up the answers afterwards, and a lot of it is going to be a judgment call as far as whether they want to grade easily or harshly. Guess I'll find out. Orals are in two weeks. For those I just am going to be defending the stupid stuff I wrote on the written exam. (The smart stuff, of course, needs no defense.)

The house is a complete disaster. No FLYing of any sort. Maybe tomorrow!

Good Night/Morning! Insomnia

Submitted by heidic on Sat, 04/01/2006 - 10:58pm.

Good Night/Morning!

Insomnia has me up in the middle of the night....

I am here reading along just in a funk lately.

We had a nice week of weather as well, got the flower beds cleaned up,anxious for the frost date to pass so I can plant. May get pansies this week for the front porch steps, they can take frost.

DS got braces on Thursday and looks so different. They hurt for a couple days and now feels better. They stay on for about 2 years so around 13 ish, they will come off. That is the age that kids used to start wearing them, and he'll be done by then.

We took the kids to see Ice Age 2 Friday, cute, but I liked the first one more.

My TADAS have been the typical things, nothing out of the ordinary. I will call Mom today(tomorrow?) and see if I can go there and do another round of decluttering with her. Other than that, nothing on tap for Sunday.

See ya...

I've come to a realization. I have trouble relaxing on the weekends. Think I need to work, work, work (chores). Which I do, but not ALL weekend. And then I get crabby because I'm doing all the work. You know, the martyr syndrome. DH actually does a lot, so I can't really complain much.

Anyway, TADA:
windows washed (2)
doors washed (2) - these are glass
laundry done
bed changed - DD's
church
groceries
walked
read a bit
ummmmm, what else??????
DH made dinner

Gosh, where did the day go?? Puzzled

Heidi, I had insomnia, too.

Submitted by jennye on Sun, 04/02/2006 - 4:19pm.

Heidi, I had insomnia, too. Drew kept waking up all night (trying to get him to sleep in his crib and out of our bed), but at one point, I just couldn't go back to sleep. My mind was just going 100 MPH with things I need/want/could do this week.

ALL of us made it to church this morning, yay! I finished up switching the girls winter and summer things. Cleaned out the windows in Drew's room (they were BAD. So much dust/bugs/cobwebs in there. Wanted to clean them, but DH STOLE the windex to clean the windows in his truck, didn't return it, and left with it in said truck. Grrrr...). Also paid a couple of bills (yay for me!). I feel like I had a really productive weekend, though I can't actually SEE much that I have done. LOL!

Will be a busy week. I need to make a nice list of stuff. Like Tomorrow night DD8 has a singing thing at the school. And Thursday is her first baseball practice. And I want to do some shopping in C-town for fabric for this new venture I'm thinking of starting (the reason for my insomnia last night. Excitement!). And I want to get some other things off the ground as well (details later. Has to do with Ebay).

Will see ya'll in the morning!

Just jumping on really quick while baby Luke nurses. Hope everyone is doing good- sorry to hear about everyone's insomnia. I didn't sleep the whole last trimester this time. I hate that feeling of not being comfortable in my own skin! Now I just dont sleep but at least its not in my control! Although I have to say Luke is doing ok in the sleep department so far... knock on wood... please keep praying for no colic/reflux. I am so not used to a non fussy baby. Although I wouldn't trade my Lexy's infant days for anything. I think it made me a much more patient Mom that learned how to go with the flow a lot better.

ok heres a quick tada/poda although its not much:
~one load laundry washed needs to be dried
~everyone dressed
~played "side" (outside) with Lex
~helped dh straighten out garage
~one load laundry put away
~went to dinner at dsil house
~watch the Sopranos with dh and spend some time together
thats about it. have a great night. love Jackie
