The New Homemaker Newsletter for November 22, 2008

Dear Readers,

Last week I didn't have spring fever, just a regular old fever; I've been under the weather lately, but here I am back in more or less one piece with the newsletter.

Spring has arrived here! The plum trees in our yard are blooming, and the daffodils are ready to pop. The chickens are once again giving at least two and sometimes four eggs a day, and the butter from the dairyman is getting that deep yellow color again. And TNH has its spring slipcover back on!

John and I have been keeping up with the one room a month scheme. So far so good. January we did the kitchen, to spectacular (for us) and lasting (for us) results. It's easier to cook, it's easier to clean and it's easier to hang out in the kitchen now.

Last month we did the long-neglected upstairs, ripping out 2/3rds of a built-in desk to make a play area for the girls. The downstairs is now staying tidier, and the girls have a home for all of their toys.

This month we're focusing on the dining room. We'll mostly be cleaning and tidying. The only big project is a rolltop desk and filing cabinet we're moving to our room upstairs.

What spring projects are you embarking on? Spring cleaning? Planting a garden?
