Happy Monday! LOL!

This is the week to get my butt in gear on this house! I've got til Wednesday. Will be hampered by company this evening. It's DH's birthday and his parents are coming over for dinner, with my nephew (because his other grandma decided she didn't want him til tomorrow. I'm not going to go there). So he (nitro) and Chance (glycerine), will be having a ball here. No point in cleaning up Chance's room or the girls room today. LOL!

Hola, Chicas!!!

Submitted by Vonnie on Mon, 02/27/2006 - 1:18pm.

Hello, my TNH friends! It's been a while since I have been on here, but not because I didn't want to!!!

In a nutshell, here's what's been going on in my life:

* Trying to get DD caught up in K-5; she's doing great academically, still working on behavior but it's getting so much better!
* DD had a renal CT scan & it looks like the really large mass is not a cyst after all! It is a diverticula. There are some smaller masses, but they don't really think they are cysts either. We go to the doctor second week of March. Woohoo!
* I have had bad sinus infection, but am getting over it. Couldn't take my antibiotic nor decongestant b/c they killed my stomach. A friend who is a neonatologist said they should have never prescribed the antibiotic anyway.
* DH has had hyperthyroidism & taking meds. His thyroid is not going down, so endrocrinologist has set him up to get a radiation treatment on it March 21. It may burn it out & send him to HYPOthyroidism, but that is much less a strain on the heart.
* Work is work. Blech. I am considering checking with DD's school & seeing what they may have open next year. You don't have to have a teaching degree to teach there, so who knows? I have a BS in business.
* The house is coming along. My mom is having a big garage sale in April or May to get rid of stuff from my great-grandmother/great aunt's house. I am going to list some stuff on EBay first & what doesn't sell, put in the garage sale. This will be my first time as a seller on EBay.
* We are working under a strict budget. Sick and tired of having credit card debt. Could be free of it by Dec., at worst mid year 2007. I'm excited about that, though not excited at having to live more strictly.

It's good to see my "old" friends posting. I hope all is well. I keep up with Jenny E. & Jamie L. on their blogs & try to blog myself when I have time.

I spend a lot of time with DD every afternoon, working on math & reading mostly. Her teacher said she can see the difference.

Well, I'd better run for now. I'll try to make myself a more frequent visitor!

Hi Everyone!

Quick post from work - taking a break here.

Welcome back Vonnie! Great to see you! I hope everyone's health is back to normal soon - wow. Did you hear that susannah had her 6th baby? His name is Ian.

Hi Heidi! What are you reading lately? I am enjoying

Hey Vonnie! Love your quote. So many good quotes from that movie! Glad dd is doing well!

Yeah, DH can drink legally now. LOL! I managed to embaress him this morning. I texted a friend who is a DJ on the local country station and it became a topic on the morning show this morning! LOL! I liked the part when they said that he married up in the world! LOL!

Nitro and glycerine totally trashed the place last night. I felt so bad for the girls. Their room was actually pretty clean. Now there isn't even a path thru it. grrr. But Drew isn't letting me work on it (he really isn't letting me post, it's taking a while to write this. LOL!).

Submitted by Andrea on Tue, 02/28/2006 - 4:44pm.

Hi Everyone -

Gosh, no one is posting. This is supposed to be my reward at the end of the day and there is not much to read. Jenny of course is here, thank goodness!

I hope you have a great trip Jenny - I read your blog. I hope you have a nice time reconnecting with your Mom. And your Dad, well, all you can do is your best and that will have to be good enough! At least you are making the effort to see him. Not easy with four kiddos. Is it your stepbrother who has been in trouble lately? Happy Birthday to Jeff! 33 - still a baby!

I am beat for some reason - don't know why, I am getting enuf sleep. Just the winter blahs I guess. Took DD to Brownies tonite and she informed me she wants me to be her leader next year. There are 28 girls in the troop!!!! I do feel guilty not helping more because I do help with DS's Cub Den.

Ah, let's see, the house. Maintaining. Laundry done and put away. Meals cooked, dw running now. DH unloads it most mornings. I do a bit of decluttering each night. Our DR table is becoming a project table so I need to do a clean sweep there each day! Our laptop is usually parked there, that's where I am now.

OK, enough rambling. What is everyone else up to?

Good Evening! Don't want you

Submitted by heidic on Tue, 02/28/2006 - 4:53pm.

Good Evening!

Don't want you to feel alone Andrea so here I am! LOL

My DD has a playroom along with DS but often decides to do art projects at the DR table too. I guess that is closer to the hub of all action and she wants to be near it all. Are you sure you want to take on troop leader role next year? Is it a big time committment etc? Is there a co-leader position to share among 2 or 3 people? Just trying to help....

Jenny- have a safe trip and be well. Will you be checking in from there or will we wait to hear from you in a week or so?

Went by the house DH bought and he gave me a tour. It has some gorgeous architecture and huge windows but needs lots of love(work!) He is gung ho about it and I am happy for him and nervous all the same. Keep your fingers crossed for us on this one.

Better get DD ready for bed

Thanks for posting Heidi!

I know I cannot be "The Leader" of this troop with my job, etc.!! I wouldn't mind helping though, we will see. There are two other Moms really doing a great job this year, and they may continue, not sure how the troop will split since it is 1st and 2nd graders. They meet every other week plus some special events like field trips, camping, etc. The guilt comes because my Mom was my Scout leader for many years until she want back to work! The house sounds great by the way. The plan is to fix it up and sell, right?

Kiddos in bed - DD7 and I "fixed" her AG doll's hair - trying to get the rats out. I need to buy some "No More Tears" stuff to spray on. Her doll is sleeping right next to her, cute.

Off to read.

long day

Submitted by Becky on Tue, 02/28/2006 - 7:57pm.

I went to visit a friend in the hospital, and her hospital is way too far away from me! It's on the other side of Los Angeles. So it took all day to get there and back, and then I collapsed into bed when I got home and took a nap for about an hour. She's doing pretty well, and I did get some studying done on the bus. (Bartok wrote 6 string quartets between 1908 and 1939, characterized by their tight structure and unusual timbres including harmonics, percussive effects, and quarter-tones in the sixth one....)

I also finished some desk chores this morning.

Mid-Week Slump Check-in.

Submitted by Momma M on Wed, 03/01/2006 - 3:16am.

Not really. But I initially titled it "Hump Day Check-in" and that sounded kind of strange.

Vonnie, SO GREAT TO CATCH UP WITH YOU!!! Sounds like you all have been going through a lot, but you also seem very positive while moving through everything. I hope you all are feeling better soon.

Jenny and Jamie, what are you blog addies? I know I used to have Jenny's under my favorites, but lost them when I lost the hard drive.

Andrea, WOW! What a large troop! Have they considered cutting it down into smaller groups? DS7's Wolf Cub group is large, too, and it makes it hard to do things sometimes. Maybe that's because nobody makes them sit and listen, too. Hmmm...

Heidi, the house sounds beautiful. We dream about doing something like that in the future, too. Can you please send an energy boost my way?

Becky, what kind of degree are you studying towards? I gather it involves music.

Okay, I'm keeping up routines in this house a little better. It got rough last week, and we're not all 100% healthy this week. But sink has been clean, and I'm doing better with planning and prepping a good dinner. Also a big help is getting the boys' things ready for school the night before. THAT alone has taken a lot of stress out of my mornings.

That said, the first of the three wild ones is up, and he's already telling me he's bored. It's 6:00 a.m. here!

Karin, mine is www.xanga.com/farmerswife

TONS to do today. cleaning, shopping, more cleaning. But I'll come back to say goodbye! I don't know if I'll check in from my mother's or not. I know we are taking troublesome stepbrother out to eat Saturday for his birthday, will go to church on Sunday, mom's is having a few friends over Sunday night to see me and meet the baby, and Monday going to my dad's. I won't have to stay at his house too long, I can use the excuse that I need to get mom's car back to her. LOL! But at least I DO make the effort to see him. In 11 years, he has been to see me 2 times (once was my wedding). Stepmother has NEVER been to see me. And it would be a lot easier for him to see me, since I am the one with the 4 kids (ahhh, but all his dogs and chickens and horses are his kids and he CAN'T leave them!).

LOL!

Ok, Off to put something on my face so I don't scare small children!

Warm Warm Day Ahead

Submitted by Vonnie on Wed, 03/01/2006 - 7:37am.

Our high is supposed to be 78 today! Whoo! I'm already sweaty. It is good to be back here, but I'm not committing to any frequency yet. I am finding I spend waaaaay too much time on the computer and not enough on the house.

I have a few TADAs this morning:

* Took girl scout cookie money to SIL
* Coffee with Mom
* Grocery store for potatoes
* Put what looks to be a scrumptious chicken dinner in the crock pot (had to cut up a whole chicken, which I HATE to do)

My PODA:

* Rest a little; I am still rundown from this sinus/allergy junk
* Do some online research for a budget/finance program for us to use
* Check my calendar & make sure I'm not forgetting anything for the next week or so
* DD haircut at 4:30

Not too bad. Bewitched is on PPV for $1.99 today, so I may order that. My Mom is picking up DD, so I have some free time for a nice change.

Well, better run. Gotta go get started!

Day is going well here. Thank goodness I planned and prepped dinner early. The Wild Ones are tearing this place apart now. Believe it or not, DS3 is crazy about laundry, but there isn't any to do now, it's all clean. I mean, we've done pillows, blankets the bathroom towels, you name it. Time for a movie! I just got Bambi through Netfix. Will they go for that?

Light day here, kinda nice. I called a battered women's shelter and they will accept our old cell phones. We have several of them. They give them to women so they have a way to call in an emergency or if needed. So,here's a challenge: If you have old cell phones lying around because you changed providers, etc, find a worthwhile charity that can put them to use.....

We are hanging in there- baby belly is getting bigger and bigger. I was definitely not this big with lex. But then again I didnt have the gestational diabetes. Dr is saying baby is 8 lbs now and I ahve 4 weeks to go. We shall see....

We have been flapping around over here. I actually have some things ready for the baby and I am not waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat panic anymore Smiling Heres a quick tada and poda and I will try to check in more- I ahve work Saturday, Mon and Friday next week but I will try to be here.

Heres a quick poda and tada from this week:
~set up bassinnet in my room
~put together new bouncy seat
~took out double stroller
~froze 2 meatloafs and planning on making sauce, chili and soup so we have some real meals when baby comes
~washed some of Alexa's yellow clothes
~bought some clothes for baby
~got together my stuff for hospital and took out my bag Just have to put the stuff in it.
~vacuumed today
~keeping up with laundry
OK thats about it. We have been locked in the house all day- it sonwed and Dh took truck and although I love my Mercedes it is impossible to drive in the snow. Figures we bought it right before I got pregnant with Lex and I started using the truck and haven't really driven it since. Wonder if Dh planned it that way Eye-wink HAve a great night- Hugs and kisses Jackie

Jackie, good luck with the baby and the preparations!

Becky, WOW! What an exam! Yikes!

Shaun, I have been disappointed with schools and would very quickly switch to homeschooling the boys if we were forced to move back to certain places. Even though two of them are deaf, or maybe BECAUSE they are deaf and some programs are just broke. Good luck on your end.

Heidi, I think I got your post on filing papers for the boys. Thank you! I also just gave away my old cell phone. Good ideas you have. Smiling

Okay, on with the day. A couple of days ago I posted a song on my blog about house cleaning. Pretty funny. I think I'm going to get with a friend who actually writes music and get some of these down on tape. Oops, disc these days.

Well, on with my day!
